As a korean
Normally korean people are more familiar with American accent because most of the English educations are based on American accent
So I think Jin got his more-like-British accent from Hattie due to their long relationship and time they spend together
He first learned american and then met Hattie which resulted in both speaking and listening to british so therefore it's only natural to end up with an accent somewhere in between

What a LOVELY COUPLE you guys are. As a woman who also married foreigner, I can see that you guys are a perfect match! Initially I was not interested in international marriage because I see more of disadvantages but now I totally changed my opinion on that. I FAILED IN LOVE with tears and sorrow before I met this KOREAN guy I have settled down with. It’s was very heart breaking and dramatic along the way to the marriage but long story short, I totally support international relationships.

But yes, I have never seen a more diverse country than India itself. The cultures and traditions, dresses, language and all that changes considerably from state to state in such an enormous fashion that sometimes I feel like I am hopping from country to country seeing the diversity. In India if guys marry from one state to another, it has surely the effect of an inter cultural relationship. 🤣🤣

My boyfriend is from Macao, China. He's an international student in the UK at a uni about an hour away by train from my city. We met on Plenty of Fish (online dating site) and he messaged me and we got talking, this was beginning of December 2019. He was in Portugal at the time for his Xmas break with his family so we video called for the first time about a week after we started messaging. I remember being so nervous beforehand, messaging my friend saying how nervous I was, she only responded with "( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)" and I was like "Cheers, feel loads better thanks". I literally had hold of one of my cats on my lap to keep me calm and when the video call started I was like "Heyy" and he said "Hi, oh, nice cat" and we both laughed. I put my cat on the floor after a few seconds cause I felt I was being silly haha. Our video call lasted 4 hours, we just talked and talked and talked, it was awesome. We discussed things we messaged about like differences between British and Chinese culture, our personal interests, what we were both studying, what games we liked etc. I had been on a couple dates before but I had not felt a connection with anyone like I had with him. We called and messaged every day and on Christmas Eve, we were calling in the evening and he was so nervous as he asked me if I would be his girlfriend. I was so surprised and just stuttered, but him confessing to me gave me the confidence to say to him that I liked him also and I of course said yes (I did have feelings for him but me being the nervous bean I was, I was too nervous to say so). He came back to the UK in January and we met in person for the first time on the 18th and a few times after that, 4 times in total going back and forth between our cities. Unfortunately Corona happened and his parents had him fly back to Macao until it calms down here. I probably won't get to see him until late August/September. I remember crying my eyes out when I left him the morning he was headed to the airport. We call everyday and we are both looking forward to when we get to see each other again once everything has calmed down. Welp, that's our story, and I loved hearing yours Jino and Hattie, hope you are both staying safe at the moment. 💙
