It's so weird watching these. Not just the fact that electrics are pulling these trains, not just the fact that they don't have to whistle at crossings, but these freights seem twice the length as passenger trains, thrice at best!
@Dr Moriarty yes and in japan it is about 100 yen depending on cargo and also thank you for the repilys! Never expected someone to take time and repily
@Dr Moriarty i agree and i whould like to see the us take lessens from japan on high speed rail did you even know that japanese cargo trains do 100 to 140 mph for basic transport ....even with there diesel hybrids switch engines yet america is stuck with 50 to 80 mph at most
@Dr Moriarty i whould love to see that program i do enjoy them and also i understand and i do wonder why america does not upgrade its tech and railroad tech it should be easyer!
Cute classic look. Its interesting to see them with pantos t both ends raised and more surprising is that they are not whistling while crossing the Road-Cross. In our country, it is mandatory to whistle while the train approaches a Road Rail-Cross.
Most locomotive in this video are filmed when they are under DC catenary, around 1500V. Maybe Pantograph are not strong enough to draw current from overhead lines,so they use 2. Same practice in some European countries
nice to see other countries railroads .:) greetings from usa
Very pleasing symmetry at 1:15!
Excellent video.

Why america dont have cargo trains as this good??? Most loco's are from the 1990s or early 2000s but these are top like the cargo boxs they have
We only have 2 electric freight lines in the us
@@Chernobog54 its quite said we dont have more! Electric is way of future
