      ahh Jim on the road, i agree. I can't tell you how many times i repeated Insignificance on the highway. east to west..north to south. def road tunes. Insignificance has singing that kept me awake as i sang along.

      way messier, but very cool and textural

    This album, plus Eureka, Insignificance fill my soul. I love Jim O'Rourke's music. Gutted that none of them are on Spotify.

      Not trying to be a pain in the ass, but I always try to recommend supporting other platforms that treat the artists a little better than spotify, such as bandcamp, etc.
      Reading this article I suspect this could be the reason why those albums and some others I looked for aren't there: exclaim.ca/music/article/mount_eeries_phil_elverum_suggests_spotify_is_immoral_even_though_it_is_not_illegal_yet
      Sorry for the bad grammar as English isn't my mother tongue.

      @@AgenteWasla yeah and not to be a pain but FFFFFFFF spotify. i still got my burned Insignificance from 2001 ha ha. also, i always find the first 4 bars from There's Hell in Hello on my guitar and never know where it's from, glad i played this again

    Jim O'Rourke contributed to a couple of fine Sonic Youth albums as well as the fantastic Stereolab realease, 2001 release Sound Dust, along with John Mc Entire (Tortoise ,The Sea and Cake) Sadly, that was tast Stereolab album for the amazing Mary Hansen, who died tragically the following year... And this, this is really very good!...

    Eureka, Insignificance, Halfway to a Threeway, Simple Songs and this...
    I have had it all on repeat for quite a while now. You hum along and it still keeps surprising you at the same time. Brilliant.

      it was the norm when this came out to make a tape o this album w that part faded out, an then back in again for the last 2 mins o lushness .. then mp3's took over the world ...🤦🤦🤦 .... jus soo wish spotty wld one day get it together an let us all fade in an out tracks wherever we want an jus genrly muck around like we all did in those days .. like legal issues i get it - but u really think artists like this (if they ever were on that platform) wld give a hoot here ... umm

      You guys realize the band Loose Fur (get it? Louis Cypher!) have two albums released by the brilliant Drag City Records. Loose Fur is O'Rourke, Tweedy; & Kotche f'in shit up, for real. Go cop some of the best Chi-Town mu-sick available without a prescription. I command thee.
      Unlike "Mr. Fancy Pants" O'Rourke himself; who keeps his solo albums off Spotify, his Loose Fur project albums are now uploaded for those unaware. Jah Bless

      Cal Wiggums I am a younger musician (I see a darkness came out the year I was born) and I tell all my friends about bonnie 'prince' billy, and some of them already knew of Jim O'Rourke. Also I don't use spotify, I enjoy buying albums on cd blindly and discovering if they're good or not.

    Neat coincidence, the other "Bad Timing" you find when googling is by Blue Rodeo, a band that briefly shared a guitarist with Wilco in their country days.

      Jim actually produced Fahey's 1997 ''Womblife'' album, and also played guitar on the song ''Juana'' from it. I'm sure he and Jim were good friends.

      They actually played live together in Fahey's later, more experimental years (which coco nut referred to before me). It's called "Live at WNUR Studios 1998" and you can find it on Soulseek. It's really a cool relic.
