Cal Wiggums I am a younger musician (I see a darkness came out the year I was born) and I tell all my friends about bonnie 'prince' billy, and some of them already knew of Jim O'Rourke. Also I don't use spotify, I enjoy buying albums on cd blindly and discovering if they're good or not.
Neat coincidence, the other "Bad Timing" you find when googling is by Blue Rodeo, a band that briefly shared a guitarist with Wilco in their country days.

John Fahey's long lost son
no, Jim o Rourke is unique.
Love child of John Fahey and Terry Riley.
thats deep brother. makes me wanna listen to fare forward voyagers, what a piece
Jim actually produced Fahey's 1997 ''Womblife'' album, and also played guitar on the song ''Juana'' from it. I'm sure he and Jim were good friends.
They actually played live together in Fahey's later, more experimental years (which coco nut referred to before me). It's called "Live at WNUR Studios 1998" and you can find it on Soulseek. It's really a cool relic.
At 32:48 there appears to start an excerpt from a recording of Schubert's quartet Der Tod und das Mädchen. Is that correct?
C'est exact. C'est bien un extrait du quatuor de Schubert, "La Jeune Fille et la Mort" que l'on entend apparaître à ce moment-là.

None

Bad timing = these ads. I’m a starving musician, I can’t afford a Mercedes, let alone cough drops.
jeff tweedy brought me here
Guess the title refers to the circus music at the end?
That can be the only sane explanation, it would seem.. Dear God.
Nope , its reference to Roeg movie "Bad Timing"
Self-sabotage, maybe? Perhaps it was getting to be too much of a good thing....
Lorkofication nailed it. Eureka and Insignificance are also named for Roeg films
I just see it as a nice surprise, an optimistic release.
Bad timing, not dad or dadgad
It’s in standard
