I bought my BAR in 1974 at 20 yrs old. My father’s family had a hunting camp in Green County Ga. I took it to the camp and they laughed at me saying it would not hit a deer at 20 yards! I told them to put there money where their mouth was! All of 11 of them bet 10 dollars each even my father! The put a coke can at 100 + yards out and hitting the can was easy how about I put it in the O in Coke on the can all of them put up $5 more up! I centered that O and their mouths fell open as I put the money I my pocket! Later as we went home my dad said to give him back his $15! I asked him why and he said they would not have betted if he did not bet they would know I could shoot that well! I gave him back his money! I still have that rifle it is in 30/06 by the way!

That .308 chambering makes it versatile for both medium and large game. The blend of modern performance with a touch of tradition is something Browning does so well.
I found my Browning BAR on Gander Mountains website in Roanoke VA. It said it was a grade 1 stock BAR, but when I went to pick it up. I found out it was a grade 2 .
I was with my dad when he got his BAR Long Trac in 30-06, he got the scope I recommended. With match ammo from Hornady, Winchester, and Federal it would shoot 2-3 MOA. Handloads were no better. Traded it in on a Wby that floats around 1MOA. I'm not a BAR fan.
my dad got me a Browning BAR 7mm mag for my 16th birthday. Was made the year I was born in 1997. I’ll never get rid of that gun. it really is an amazing rifle

It's now sitting on my rack with a lightweight scope, and I LOVE those classic, sleek lines of the Mark II WAY better than the new ones.
I recently bought this rifle. I wanted an M1A or AR-10 but I wasn't able to buy one before the Washington State "Assault Weapon" ban. It's actually a really nice rifle. I'm thinking about getting mine threaded for a suppressor.
Wouldn't those evil threads make it an evil assault weapon, LOL. I've been looking for a Mk3 because my FOID Card didn't get renewed before Illinois passed the unconditional AW ban. I hope it gets over turned but if not I will probably relocate to Indiana in the near future
@michaelhatfield3430😂 yup, those threads make it a fully semi automatic assault weapon.🙄😂😂 I wish moving would be easy for me. I have kids and roots here in Washington State. Otherwise I'd move to New Hampshire.
Oooo! I have that EXACT model. It's the BAR MK 3 DBM Wood. And hot dang it's the best looking 308 in my collection. Great shooter and unbannable even in California. Being honest, I'm not really into the rail on top of the DBM model -- I'd prefer a standard drilled and tapped topside -- but I suppose it makes mounting quicker if you're swapping optics regularly. Great review!

It's not my fault you were standing there jaw-jacking. Explaining the in and outs of the bar. But it's all good. You blame us for everything😅 LOL 😂🎉 I love the show.
I had the Hog Stalker version of this rifle several years years ago (in 308 Win). That was the first version of the FN FNAR with Browning's name on it, and that's also what the rifle reviewed here essentially is but with wood furniture and perhaps no adjustability to the buttstock. It's terrific to have a DBM available. I had mine gun's barrel threaded for a brake or suppressor. It shot well for hunting with my tuned handloads. Not well enough for the precision rifle matches at our club, but well enough for hunting. A well-put-together AR-15 will out-shoot it handily. I liked the gun quite a lot, though.
Guns I can't afford but appreciate. I have built a few, restored a few, and am still coming to the realization that your optic costs more than your gun if you are doing it right. :) At least they are interchangeable. I am a carpenter and still can't get past walnut furniture, Turkish or not. I will buy a cheap gun just because of how nice the furniture is!

Dangit, I said I was done but I will be searching for this one!
It's not my fault you were standing there jaw-jacking.
Explaining the in and outs of the bar. But it's all good. You blame us for everything😅 LOL 😂🎉
I love the show.
I bought one a few years ago . Love it so smooth.🔥🔥
what a beauty - I might've picked this over my m1a tanker
I had the Hog Stalker version of this rifle several years years ago (in 308 Win). That was the first version of the FN FNAR with Browning's name on it, and that's also what the rifle reviewed here essentially is but with wood furniture and perhaps no adjustability to the buttstock. It's terrific to have a DBM available. I had mine gun's barrel threaded for a brake or suppressor. It shot well for hunting with my tuned handloads. Not well enough for the precision rifle matches at our club, but well enough for hunting. A well-put-together AR-15 will out-shoot it handily. I liked the gun quite a lot, though.
nice rifle, thank you for the VOD. 🥃🥃
Damn what a gun, very impressive an of course its a tack driver
You know, every once in awhile you come out with a video that highlights a gun I’m interested
