Are you kidding me? Lin made 85% of the mistakes of Ma Lin double. Yes, he did make awesome crucial points during crunch time but Ma surely deserves more praise here. Goat carried the waggon most of the time :)

In doubles, that’s not even a stat you can keep because if, for example, your partner makes a mediocre bunt block, which leads to the opponent having a easy next shot, and you lose the point on your shot, who’s mistake was that? Conversely, if you make a good shot, forcing your opponent to make a poor shot in return, and your partner then gets the winning shot, who actually made the great shot to win the point. The point is, in doubles, you play as a pair. I stand by what I wrote above. To me, LGY probably played the best in this championship match. He and Ma Long were great together and that was the key to their win.

I didn't want to say it in my original comment above, but I thought he played the poorest among the four players and likely affected Wang's playing as well. What I said about LGY stemmed largely from how he surprised me by his level of playing in this doubles championship match. He and Ma Long played very well together as equal partners; even if one of them made a poor shot, they recovered and moved on. In contrast, I didn't feel that same camaraderie between Wang and Fan in this match for whatever the reason.
Fan has been off for quite some time now, he even lost to Lin Shidong in singles in R64. Wang is better than him now and much more eager, their rivalry is stronger than Ma and Lin @@joncaju

LGY does surprisingly much mistakes on normal bh blocks. Especially on this level. Also his serves got read easily most of the times. When it went toe to toe, Ma Long still hold his ground much more calm, with overview and experience. Great play from the Goat!!
You can see that Wang came to compete and Fan came to simp for Taylor swift and nothing bad about that but at least have the courage to tell that to your coach instead of ruining people that really want to be there and give all they have.
Wang is better than Fan atm, totally agree. Ma was also better in doubles than Lin. It evens out... Someone has to make a mistake and we did have a great match, right? :)

Lin tried to be proactive. This is both good and bad. I don't agree that Ma is guilty of this.
