I'll always kinda miss when kart racers had game modes besides the usual racing and battle mode, like the collecting you could do here. Diddy Kong Racing had it as well, albeit you have to collect objects on the track while also finishing an actual race, and I think a couple of the Crash racers did too.
There’s somethin special about collecting things for some reason lol. And it ms kinda funny that Kart racing was a must do for so many games even Mortal Kombat. The Disney World racing game is a very good one for just racing too
The only thing that stopped me from beating this game when I was a kid was a Bo Peep collection level set in the Pizza Planet arena stage, the timer was brutally unforgiving even when I went back to it as an adult. It quite literally was the only level roadblocking me because there were no other levels available because I didn't have enough soldiers to unlock the next one in anyone else's level list. I beat the rest of the game just fine, but boy will I never forgive that one level.
Fun fact: The PS1 actually converts 32 bit colors into 16 bit when rendering, as the processor wasn't QUITE there for the power to show it, so you get dithering unless you use an emulator of some kind.
i loved how wacky every traveller tales racing game was, sonic r, muppet racemania, then this one. a lot of people hated their confusing tracks but personally i loved them because they also had a ton of game modes
Muppet Race Mania uses the same game engine as this game, not to mention they were both developed by Traveler’s Tales. Who also developed Super Monkey Ball Adventure for the GameCube as well as all those Lego games we all know and love.
Friend, in the future I will develop fangames, among them I will make a fangame reboot of Toy Story Racing with more characters from the movies and special shorts of Toy Story. I will also include characters from other toy brands or those who had their own toys, even those that did not appear in Toy Story. like gi joe, he man, thundercats, my little pony, care bears, monster high, barbie with the design of life in the dreamhouse,pokemon,digimon,hello kitty,power player etc.

I was a 8 (25 now) and use to play this game all the time, was one of my favorites
