@@YohananYGO Because shuffling into the deck is an effect, not a cost so it maintains hand size and doesn't risk you losing anything if it gets negated. The fact it doesn't go -1 in the anime means there's no longer any functional drawback to using it because it turns any number of cards in your hand into a better Upstart Goblin on your turn. While it wouldn't be the most broken card ever printed (Painful Choice, Forceful Sentry, Pot of Greed...) it would still likely become ban material overnight just because of how much consistency it would offer for no drawback.
Even as a babby YugiBoomer it was obvious the burn cards like Poison of the Old Man were trash. I'd much rather put another 1800 vanilla in my deck and slap my opponent with it every turn than run Ookazi.

I kind of hate to say it but I feel like the best way to run blue eyes chaos Max dragon is to run it with regular blue eyes chaos dragon. It's ability to reduce attack and defense of your opponent's monster to 0/0 and swap all their defense positions enables a very, very funny otk strategy IF you can get both of them out on the field at the same time. Then all you have to do is add some extra deck spice like the the synchro summon cards and Galaxy eyes cipher dragon and you've got a competent meme deck.
I literally beat someone with a drowning mirrorforce after he spent like 15 minutes making a huge board and I only have 3 backrows which he popped 2 of, the only card I have on my field is drowning mirrorfoce and I have no hand traps to deal with anything. He then attacked, and everything was shuffled back into his deck, with only 1 card left in his hand, he quit the next turn. I can just hear his screaming on the astral plane.
@@DestinyHeroShademan it reminds me of the time I was playing on ygoPro and as a side deck option, I put magical cylinder in there as a LOL option and on game 3, the guy made a big dumb beater that was going to OTK and it had a negate, but I used effect veiler prior, so he couldn’t stop it and that was game three 🤣 it’s such a bad card, but it’s hilarious when you pull a win with it.
I dont see how this is bad its basically a metaion timelord as a trap card, just cause it can be negated and only works in BP doesn't mean its bad, VERY few things in yugioh are immune to shuffle
In the anime, magical mallet shuffled itself into the deck as well, meaning that if you were running 3, you could probably pick the exact hand you wanted or close to it without losing card advantage Amazing how 1 line of text changes so much
I was at a local back in 2015, and saw a guy Magic Cylinder for game and then the attacking player activated Barrel Behind the Door and won with that. I haven't played in years, but I'll never forget that.
Where I encountered these noob cards: Dark Bribe: played in stun decks as an extra copy ot Solemn to protect their castle from Raigeki or Harpie's Feather Duster. Also there are decks that are built to have zero outs to things in order to optimize their ratios. Magical Mallet: Exodia and OTK-burn decks
Yeah the only thing these videos do is discourage card exploration because sometimes you find that weird car that everybody says sucks but works for your deck.
dark bribe is THE KEY card in control deck. it doesn't matter if you opponent draws 20 cards, as long as you keep you skill drain, you win imagine your opponent has 2 backrow removal (e.g. duster + storm), if you can counter ALL of them with solemn / dark bribe, you win this video is bullshit
Yeah I agree I think PaleozoicSLIFER is a really good deck idea for example (with Accumulated Fortune and Reckless Greed and maybe Waboku as well for long chain links and to have a lot of draws)
The really sad part is that Supply Squad has already been powercreeped by Backup Squad, and even its not very good since it's STILL susceptible to back row destruction and is useless if your opponent is playing an OTK strategy (which generally is the goals of most decks when you're deck building if you aren't trying to make a deck that wins through an alternate win condition that doesn't involve attacking in the battle phase, such as burn, mill, Exodia, Final Countdown, etc.) Also, for what its worth, Slifer is _"okay"_ in a Poker Knights deck post King's Court. Ra still really isn't, i just play it for the memes since i'm already playing Sphere. But, like, Slifer is at least a funny boss monster. it won't win you the game on its own, but its got a funny effect that can shut down some special summon pipelines and it can get pretty big. Its basically a mediocre floodgate, lol.
Supply Squad is a pretty good deck thinner if you play it on Dinosaur, Scrap, etc. Who cares if the opponent wastes cards popping it? You already got value from it...
Slifer is good on first turn, because of that effect, but it only pops its effect on summoning. So you cannot set it on an enemies full board and win with it. The Triumph Joker can blowup the complete board. With Thunderspeed summon, the Sphere mode gets broken. But only if your enemy has enough monsters.
I used to use dark bribe in my Gravekeepers deck. People said this card was bad at the time, around 2016, but I didn't buy it. NOTHING was more important in this deck than protecting Necrovalley, and if that meant giving my opponent a free card, so be it. Seven Tools didn't stop MST. Solemn Judgment was limited to one copy and Imperial Tomb was against monsters, so yeah, Dark Bribe was a good card for me at the time.
@@scythermantis No, this is an anecdote from 2016. He literally says IN the video that it used to be good in certain decks back when the game was in a much slower format, and that the card has now been powercrept.
@@scythermantis he said in the video that the card used to be okay, but NOW, you know the actual relevant thing, it’s boo boo butter. If you’re running Dark Bribe currently when you have better options, you’re a scrub and I will shake your hand for letting me draw a card.
@@TheQuilava96 there are decks where it's awesome though; potentially with Appropriate or even Heavy Slump/Gold Moon Coin etc. or even Draw/Burn decks with Present Card/Trickstar Reincarnation/etc., just need to be creative
As far as playing burn cards in Master Duel, there is a trophy on PS (and I assume an achievement on XB) for inflicting 100k effect damage. That’s why I played Ring of Destruction in the NR event. Still need some more.
For me personally it's BLS - Envoy of the beginning, card used to be able to swing tempo in your favor once summoned, now it just beatstick that you have to draw/search and require gy setup.
BLS is still good imo, GY setup in chaos is not particularly difficult. At worst, he's an extender you can link away for something else and you're only playing 1, maybe 2 to avoid bricking on him. Chaos just isn't keeping up with the modern meta, so it's kinda fallen out of favor.
He’s not as good as before relatively speaking but he’s aged better than the other cards on this video for sure, chaos decks are still decent and also there are now more cards that easily set up GY, access the banished pile or do something when banished like thunder dragons
I file Soul Absorption into the category of "Win More." It's just there for when you want to flex. There are better Life Point gain cards to use. And those that do don't use Soul Absorption to gain LP.
Supply Squad is pretty good in Dinos, Scraps and similar decks. Probably not good enough enough to be used in every build, but still good. It's basically an Upstart Goblin for the deck that forces your opponent to pop it afterward, lest it become Pot of Greed. It's won me a LOT of games against control.
I once got 3 supply squad online with Dark Magician the Dragon knight, The Dark Magicians, DPE, eternal soul, and piercing the darkness. With soul servant in the grave I drawing 7 every turn , but had no way to use them because my spell trap zone was full and immune to destruction. It was definitively a win too much card, in that situation.
Classic Mirror Force is actually still useful, mainly because of Mirror Force Launcher. When, not if, when your opponent blows it up, you get Launcher back and a free Mirror Force set from your hand, deck, or graveyard. Most people don't realize you can shuffle where the cards go after you place them for mind games, so you can trick the opponent into blowing up Launcher again since it's not a once per turn. It's the same reason why Waking the Dragon is good: It punishes your opponent for removing traps. Word of caution though, if you're playing defensive strats nowadays you MUST expect negates and removals and play around them. Build your defenses in layers and expect them to be broken, then punish the opponent for doing it.
I love using mirror force and magic cylinder, it’s a lot of fun, feels like playing the anime. Ash Blossom or whatever the heck it is needs to get banned though. I’m very glad that isn’t in duel links. It ruins the game when you can literally just negate anything at no cost. I’m going to wait for my level to get set back to bronze in ranked matches so I can have more tolerable duels again.
Soul Absorption has saved me in my Metaphys and Mysterune decks by boosting my life points so much my opponent has a hard time killing me before I win.
I actually used sphere mode to get Ra out back when I played Legacy of the Duelist. I mainly stopped doing it because 1: I kept drawing Ra and never sphere mode when I needed it and 2: I figured out how link monsters worked and something about giving my opponent a material they could just link away and ruin my entire plan didn't sit right with me. I occasionally use it in my stall deck when there's an event. Seeing them disconnect after breaking their board is too hilarious to give up completely.
Sphere Mode's effect can be mitigated if you have Owner's Seal or Remove Brainwashing.... both have their disadvantages, the former is a Normal Spell so it's great on first turn while the latter is a continuous trap which means you have to wait a turn unless you use Makyura or Temple of the Kings. Or you can do Foolish Burial Goods on Remove Brainwashing with the use of Booby Trap E to go into Remove Brainwashing from grave but that also takes a turn unless Makyura or Temple of the Kings are used. If you want to activate Remove Brainwashing/Owner's Seal the turn you have Sphere Mode that has appropriate tributes: Owner's Seal is a one card cost (itself) Temple of the Kings and activate Remove Brainwashing is two card cost. Foolish Burial Goods the Remove Brainwashing to then use Temple of the Kings using Booby Trap E which is a four card cost (Booby Trap E requires a discard, it can become three card cost because you can simply discard Remove Brainwashing to set it.... well Booby Trap E can pay for itself in some ways but if you had Temple of the Kings it would be simpler to just activate Remove Brainwashing if you have them in hand. ).
Magic Cylinder is so bad that even Dimension Wall powercreeps it even most burn players dont run Magic Cylinder anymore in favour of Dimension Wall just because it doesn't target.
Dark Bribe can be more useful in certain decks (I’m thinking stuff like Generaiders, certain Trickstar variations that use Lycoris, and stuff that makes use of Secret Barrel), but yeah, better options exist.
Chaos MAX is my favorite card to utterly destroy. I don’t know what compels people to summon him into my Bagooska, but it just makes me feel happy to see it

Thing is, because many People say They're "bad" it's actually a good reason to use them. Because they won't expect those cards and won't have something prepared for it. Everyone expects ash blossom, but rarely they expect a magic cylinder The element of surprise is something that shouldn't be underestimated
Yu GI oh but every time you get negated you get to draw 2 cards, actually make negating all your opponents effects have some functional downside or possible counterplay
Dark Bribe I see played in Stun, but as someone who started with Stun in master duel I didn't feel it was worth going out of the way to craft A burn card for a similar effect to Magic Cylinder is Dimension wall as it doesn't target Stun also plays Storming Mirror Force although unlike Dark Bribe I am thinking about crafting to improve my stun deck over the Compuls I've been using Chaos MAX isn't that bad if ran as a gimmick otk deck revolved around it (Dzeeff made a vid on this)
Even as a yugiBoomer, I still side poison of the old man sometimes in my aromage/plant deck cause 1. It’s funny when that’s what wins me the game and 2 it can come in handy as extra means to proc their effects at a moment’s notice.
The only deck I’ve been able to work Chaos Max in has been my Impcantation toolbox deck. Admittedly a gimmicky deck, but it’s fun. Sometimes I just need a big dumb beatstick.
I learned yesterday that there is a reason why Dark Bribe isn't very good. An enemy of mine in Masterduel used it to negate one of my traps, which I was about to use to break his board. Unfortunately for him, the card I drew because of it was Evenly Matched.
The only real i have a magical mallet is tagging it in when my hands seem to be extra bricky today from drawing into my garnets in my shurinui deck (ei. Drawing into my mezuki or plaguespreader when i send them to grave from deck). I dont run it on the average but when RNJesus is frowning upon me
I still wanna figure out some way to make Slifer stun. Cheese it out with like Back to the Front or something when your opponent’s setting up their monsters. Pretty much no set up monsters have 2k+ ATK, unless it’s Photon/Galaxy or something.
@@davinator1212 Yeah. That’s the problem I can’t find a way around. It pretty much only shuts out low ATK Link monsters so far, and even then that’s if their main effect doesn’t activate on summon. Definitely isn’t much more than a one trick pony, but it’s a fun pony for goofing around with.
I got three Royal Rares, one of them is Magic Cylinder. Be damned if I don't play it. No, it is not good, but it will never not be funny whenever it resolves. But that last sentence basically sums up my entire deck, so it fits right in.
3:01 - Oh wow I really do need to sit down and watch 60's Spider Man sometime XDXDXD 4:15 - There's only been one genius in this business, and that was Señor Wences! The only one I disagree on is Chaos Max Dragon. Yes if it’s your only win con then it’s going to lose, but as part of a more robust Blue-Eyes deck it can be a be a powerhouse.
I mean supply squad could be good in decks that pop there own monsters. I get your point but just because your deck is working doesn't mean you're gonna win. Could draw an extender with it, get an extra handtrap to slow down your opponent, etc. Still not a great card but certain decks could use it better than desires
There are two types of scrub moments in master duel when it comes to fan favorite archetypes I’ve noticed: 1. Fan favorite archetypes that are just bad/mediocre (DM, Blue Eyes, Toons) 2. Fan favorite archetypes that are hard to play so they have no clue what they’re doing (Synchrons, Speedroid, D/D/D) Either option reveals the scrub within
I don’t get that attitude. If you enjoy playing the deck, isn’t that all that matters? Not everyone is in it for the competitive aspect. Some of us just want to use fun anime cards. If that makes someone a scrub then I embrace being a scrub.
If you want a less terrible magical cylinder, there’s time thief chronocorder. It’s also not that common, so 8/10 time your opponent wont read it and will kill themself
Hear me out Shard of greed was pretty clutch for me when using a really degen stally Exodia, royal magical library chicken game draw power deck back when chicken game was at 3 for like that one month
Magical Cylinder and Mirror Force were good back in the days, if I remember correctly, both of them were limited to 1 for a really long time... but it's just that the game was so power creep now days that those card were no longer good...
Magic Cylinder won me a duel at a locals in late 2019 against a Dino player; it only happened because his only negates stopped special summons. Useless, but funny as hell. Similar story with Drowning Mirror Force; guy had a full D/D/D field and thought I couldn't use my lone facedown. After some attacks on my turn, he fell to his own Contract costs. I can't speak ill of Chaos MAX, either. I know a guy that used to run a Chaos MAX OTK BEWD variant and used it to wipe out both a Pend Magician deck and a Toad deck with little effort. The only real use for Magical Mallet is in an Exodia deck; other than that, it's terrible.
Re: Chaox MAX I had fun beating over one with Fossil Dragon Skullgios and dealing 7000 battle damage with that one attack. Felt like I was flipping the script on Chaox MAX.
see, Davinator here gets it. I love playing "ok" cards and I know I'm not a competitive player and am ok taking Ls. I just think playing more casual decks is more fun for me.
Dark Bride isn't bad in decks that have a play where you *want* your opponent to draw, like with a deck that has Appropriate (which... why?) or is running the nasty Droll + Reincarnation combo. Also, Dark Bribe came out AFTER Judgment. Judgment's been around for a very, very long time. D.D. Capsule is bad, that I agree. If you're running it, switch it for Golden Sarcophagus, which Davinator shows in the video. It's basically the same thing, but it banishes face-up and doesn't require sarcophagus to stay on the field. Just because of the face-up part, it can be interacted with Different Dimension Burial and D.D.R. Battle Traps are often universely bad. The only exception I've seen, and used, has been Dinomorphia Shell, but that's because Speed 3 and it's at the start of battle phase. Dinomorphia also has Sonic, another Speed 3 trap that negates and destroys Spell/Trap activations. There are some decks that want to be above their opponent in LP (Aromage), but they generally seem to run Cauldrons instead of poison. And none of them run Soul Absorb, because it requiring banishing... and only like one deck really wants to do that, which doesn't need Soul Absorb to work. Wouldn't called Chaos MAX really "bad". Is it actually good? Not really. It's best at one and that's it. So, yeah, "just okay" is fine. The god cards are bad. Red-Eyes is bad. Dark Magician is fun, and is "okay". Same deal with Blue-Eyes. Out of them all, Red-Eyes is bad. Magical Mallet is good in one deck. One deck being Exodia. Exodia is a pretty bad deck, too, so pretty much yes. I'd argue Reload's worse, though.
Power creeped by Judgment? Im pretty sure Solemn Judgment existed before Dark Bribe. And who the heck ever used Dark Bribe? Though I suppose in terms of card advantage it was technically just the reverse of Magic and Trap Jammer, but could be used for both. But even then did anyone actually use it?
My lvl 4 beater won me a duel in master duel because my opponent activated magic cylinder with magic cylinders but dododo bot is unaffected by card effects when it attacks
Yeah...idk the last time i got beaten due to mirror force or.any of it variants. Sure there are a few times over the last 4 years (very rare occasions) when it catches me off guard, but i almost always clear my opponent's back row or set up negates before the battle phase. That goes for most players nowadays so mirror is really not good. Battle phase traps...and even monster effects in general that have to be activated when an attack is happening are not very good
There are trap heavy builds that can get slower traps into facilitating control strategies. They mostly need help and aren't gonna do the thing you want it to do on their own. This was mostly a list about teching in an old card you remember just because you remember it.
As someone who has a friend who plays metaphyst I know your pain I otked him four times over till I won cause soul absorption towe ain't worth stopping its everything else that is.
I do agree that these cards are bad but some of them can serve a contrived purpose. And then there are just better versions of said card. Also for #2, get out of my face, are you telling me you wouldn't run this card in an Inferno Tempest immortality deck. 10 - Dark Bribe (1:33); True it does give your opponent an extra resource to which they can play off of. There's also a Monster Effect variant known as Recall. But it can be used in a Trickstar deck to cause burn, an Appropriate deck to draw off of, or even a Mill Deck, give them enough resources to which you can play Trickstar Reincarnation, Card Destruction, Morphing Jar, Heavy Slump, Present Card, Bubble Crash, and the like. Or even a draw none deck with aforementioned cards with a chained special summon of Protector of the Sanctuary or even I dare say Droll & Lock Brid. 9 - Different Dimension Capsule (3:03); Useless, yes just use Gold Sarc. It's basically Shard of Greed that searches by banishing. 8 - Magic Cylinder (4:15); True, it's a battle trap but it's fun to use, unless you're going on about Competitive or Meta Davinator. But as most battle traps go, I'd run just 2 of the card, three is too much and may be able to fulfill their duties but in terms of deck consistency they aren't needed. Dimension Wall is just a better card to non-target bullshit that Magic Cylinder can't deal with. Magical Cylinders is something I didn't know about even though it's a Revolver card. 7 - Poison of the Old Man (6:43); There's an upgrade to this card, the continuous spell card known as Cauldron of the Old Man, it's basically a better Wave Motion Cannon capable of ending the game in 7 turns rather than in 8-9. It's also a great life point renewal if you can protect it. (Whenever I think of Backrow protection The Despair Uranus comes to mind and well people say it's too slow so meh) 6 - Shard of Greed (8:57); Absolutely useless and too slow for current format, you could possibly use this card in a Sacred Beast/Three Phantasm deck as a target for Opening of the Spirit Gates but Dirge of the Lost Dragon or Blockout Curtain are just plain out better (one basically halves the life points of your opponent if you know what they play as well as it can stop them from playing it to a degree and the other is protection) or maybe an even better continuous spell that I don't know of. 5 - Supply Squad (10:27); too slow for current format and is once per turn, just use Backup Squad, it's able to activate more than once per turn and if you take damage in multiples of 1000 you get that many cards, the only drawback is that if you take damage more than than a 1000 but is below the next 1000 then you're only going to draw that many cards equal to the thousand. I.E. 2500 makes you draw 2 cards. 4 - Mirror Force cards (11:29); Battle Traps, fun, don't care about meta or competitive. But do take Davinator's advice if you're going to be Meta. But once decks start becoming more monster intensive and just focus on making their combos then you can go back to using Battle Traps as they can't stop it unless they go for Ultra Negate Comboes. 3 - Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon (12:26); an Ace to a Blue-Eyes player, enough said. Don't really care on if it's bad or not. 2 - Soul Absorption (14:22); Now you are definitely rustling my jibbies, I'd definitely cuss you out in regards to this card. Not only is this the card the ultimate counter in a D.D. Dynamite Mirror, but it goes great with Backup Squad, Ancient Leaf, and the like (Which are a lot of cards that either activate when you take damage or when you pay life points) in a banishing deck. Sure it doesn't go well if you can't defend yourself when your opponent bum rushes you. Just don't activate this card when you're fighting Nurse Burn. It can also guarantee Bye Bye Damage or Burning Mirror Force but those are battle traps so they don't count. Honorable Mention - The Winged God Dragon of Ra, Osiris the Heaven Dragon, and Obelisk the Giant God Soldier (15:31); yeah yeah, three tributes, niche effects, but great to play with. In regards to Ra, Osiris, and Obelisk now having their support. We can talk about a few other cards. For Ra, you can consider using Mystik Wok for fried chicken (Now I'm just being funny), Osiris can gain help from SIlent Magician. Both can benefit from the Three Musketeers of Face cards. And Obelisk, you know Obelisk... I haven't really built a deck around the big blue boi or looked into building one. 1 - Magical Mallet (16:16); Obviously used for an Exodia deck. And well, can be countered now imagine if someone chained Droll & Lock Bird to it or even special summoned Protector of the Sanctuary to It. If only this cards mechanic were input in the rules.... well more like Reload's effect to allow people to reroll their hands at the start of the game. It's a -1. But whatever. I have an honorable mention myself: Card Trader, now imagine activating this card, sending a card from your hand into your deck and then your opponent activates Ash Blossom, you just went -2. Also it's basically a -1, and is also a bad scenario card like Magical Mallet.
I still use Magic Cylinder In my evil twin deck in master duel just because that deck has so much free space for a few extra cards and its always super fun to use against the annoying ass numeron OTK players.
Heh, Poison of the Old Man is a 3 of in Aroma, while if someone is playing Yang Zing, or monsters that like being destroyed, Supply Squad is a popular option. Yes we know those decks are super weak, doesn't mean they aren't fun. Make Nigh UNKILLABLE monster, pass turn

Dark Bribe: played in stun decks as an extra copy ot Solemn to protect their castle from Raigeki or Harpie's Feather Duster. Also there are decks that are built to have zero outs to things in order to optimize their ratios.
Magical Mallet: Exodia and OTK-burn decks
Dark Bribe can also be run in a contrived Appropriate Deck preferably, I would probably try to use it in Trickstar.
Trap Trick can get you tons of good traps. Like magic cylinder!
No joke I used Supply Squad during the N/R festival in Master Duel and it was basically a continuous Maxx C.
Supply Squad is an SR...
Suspicious activity.
Dark Bribe is still used in a lot of Anti-Meta decks, and Magic Cylinder is hilarious because nobody expects it!!
Yeah the only thing these videos do is discourage card exploration because sometimes you find that weird car that everybody says sucks but works for your deck.
dark bribe is THE KEY card in control deck.
it doesn't matter if you opponent draws 20 cards, as long as you keep you skill drain, you win
imagine your opponent has 2 backrow removal (e.g. duster + storm), if you can counter ALL of them with solemn / dark bribe, you win
this video is bullshit
Yeah I agree I think PaleozoicSLIFER is a really good deck idea for example (with Accumulated Fortune and Reckless Greed and maybe Waboku as well for long chain links and to have a lot of draws)
dark bribe is great in generaider decks.
@@Machiroable Trickstar too!
The really sad part is that Supply Squad has already been powercreeped by Backup Squad, and even its not very good since it's STILL susceptible to back row destruction and is useless if your opponent is playing an OTK strategy (which generally is the goals of most decks when you're deck building if you aren't trying to make a deck that wins through an alternate win condition that doesn't involve attacking in the battle phase, such as burn, mill, Exodia, Final Countdown, etc.)
Also, for what its worth, Slifer is _"okay"_ in a Poker Knights deck post King's Court.
I was one of the people playing Dark Bribe. Granted, I was playing Trickstars cause I'm a mad man, but I was playing Dark Bribe regardless.
Yeah this guy is simplistic and arrogant with these.
@@scythermantis I don’t care anymore dude lol
As far as playing burn cards in Master Duel, there is a trophy on PS (and I assume an achievement on XB) for inflicting 100k effect damage. That’s why I played Ring of Destruction in the NR event. Still need some more.
Ah yes, Master Duel: The noob's heaven since 80% of the players are noobs
Metalfoes Orichalcum also does double piercing damage!
Man, that's what happens if you don't draw either Trunade, Duster, Lightning Storm, and Evenly Matched.
R.I.P. that Blue-Eyes player.
@@FakeHeroFang It's not terrible by itself, but little dragons are infinitely better as starters/extenders
I file Soul Absorption into the category of "Win More."
It's just there for when you want to flex. There are better Life Point gain cards to use. And those that do don't use Soul Absorption to gain LP.
The only time I saw people play shard of greed was during the n/r fest
@@tommyl.dayandtherunaways820 ...dude just run Crossout or Called by, also no one mentioned Ash
If you want to activate Remove Brainwashing/Owner's Seal the turn you have Sphere Mode that has appropriate tributes:
Owner's Seal is a one card cost (itself)
Temple of the Kings and activate Remove Brainwashing is two card cost.
Foolish Burial Goods the Remove Brainwashing to then use Temple of the Kings using Booby Trap E which is a four card cost (Booby Trap E requires a discard, it can become three card cost because you can simply discard Remove Brainwashing to set it.... well Booby Trap E can pay for itself in some ways but if you had Temple of the Kings it would be simpler to just activate Remove Brainwashing if you have them in hand. ).
The amount of rage quits I’ve received after doing a good old fashioned Sphere mode summoning feels good man.
Magic Cylinder is so bad that even Dimension Wall powercreeps it even most burn players dont run Magic Cylinder anymore in favour of Dimension Wall just because it doesn't target.
I remember when Dark Bribe was thee counter trap to play.
Dark Bribe can be more useful in certain decks (I’m thinking stuff like Generaiders, certain Trickstar variations that use Lycoris, and stuff that makes use of Secret Barrel), but yeah, better options exist.
If you manage to make Darklaw before you use it it basically becomes a zero cost omni negate.
I know mystic mine decks play it because the cards don't matter when the cards do squat when mine is out
Chaos MAX is my favorite card to utterly destroy. I don’t know what compels people to summon him into my Bagooska, but it just makes me feel happy to see it
Heh, same. Idk why, but when I make a deck, one of the things I ask is "How can this deck get rid of Chaos Max"?
Ah yes I remember the days of magic cylinder at school. I walked into on once with a 32000 at cyber end dragon once and it was easily the highlight of my school time yugioh

Common reasons why the cards are bad
• Card Dis-Advantage
• Delayed Activation
• Bad Deck Design
Thing is, because many People say They're "bad" it's actually a good reason to use them.
Because they won't expect those cards and won't have something prepared for it.
Everyone expects ash blossom, but rarely they expect a magic cylinder
The element of surprise is something that shouldn't be underestimated
@@Arlesmon I haven't ever lost to a magic cylinder.
@@AyuNico but that's because of you, other did have
I like how a bunch of these were exodia staples back in the day XD and are still in use for some meme decks
I stop using sphere mode, because there was a time when I did then my opponent used it to summon Ra....yeah that sucked.
Unlike the other 2, Ra actually has a dedicated deck for itself, a pretty playable OTK strat. It's better than Obelisk and Slifer.
Yu GI oh but every time you get negated you get to draw 2 cards, actually make negating all your opponents effects have some functional downside or possible counterplay
Poison of the old man is what helps me get damage missions for festivals not many people surrender that way lol
Marshmallon better be on here
Dark Bribe I see played in Stun, but as someone who started with Stun in master duel I didn't feel it was worth going out of the way to craft
A burn card for a similar effect to Magic Cylinder is Dimension wall as it doesn't target
Stun also plays Storming Mirror Force although unlike Dark Bribe I am thinking about crafting to improve my stun deck over the Compuls I've been using
Chaos MAX isn't that bad if ran as a gimmick otk deck revolved around it (Dzeeff made a vid on this)
Me negating my opponent's upstart goblin with Dark Bribe 🤠
Even as a yugiBoomer, I still side poison of the old man sometimes in my aromage/plant deck cause 1. It’s funny when that’s what wins me the game and 2 it can come in handy as extra means to proc their effects at a moment’s notice.
The only deck I’ve been able to work Chaos Max in has been my Impcantation toolbox deck. Admittedly a gimmicky deck, but it’s fun. Sometimes I just need a big dumb beatstick.
Dark bribe would have been fine in master duel if it were like a rare or common. Would be a fine first deck card
This game has helped me with the overall game.
If I had a dollar for each time they negate one of my spell cards with Dark Bride only to draw the same spell, I could buy a Big Mac.
opponent: gets nibiru'd, but token is in atk
opponent: "Nobody plays cylinder"
me: plays cylinder
I learned yesterday that there is a reason why Dark Bribe isn't very good. An enemy of mine in Masterduel used it to negate one of my traps, which I was about to use to break his board. Unfortunately for him, the card I drew because of it was Evenly Matched.
dead
The only real i have a magical mallet is tagging it in when my hands seem to be extra bricky today from drawing into my garnets in my shurinui deck (ei. Drawing into my mezuki or plaguespreader when i send them to grave from deck). I dont run it on the average but when RNJesus is frowning upon me
I still wanna figure out some way to make Slifer stun. Cheese it out with like Back to the Front or something when your opponent’s setting up their monsters. Pretty much no set up monsters have 2k+ ATK, unless it’s Photon/Galaxy or something.
They can just summon in def mode.
@@davinator1212 Yeah. That’s the problem I can’t find a way around. It pretty much only shuts out low ATK Link monsters so far, and even then that’s if their main effect doesn’t activate on summon. Definitely isn’t much more than a one trick pony, but it’s a fun pony for goofing around with.
is it me, or is it entirely ironic that a guy with grey in his beard spent the majority of his joke meter on boomer jokes?
You got that frog paleo deck list?
I got three Royal Rares, one of them is Magic Cylinder. Be damned if I don't play it. No, it is not good, but it will never not be funny whenever it resolves.
But that last sentence basically sums up my entire deck, so it fits right in.
Did Dave just say Dryton
16:25 I used to play 3 phantazmay because Id draw Mare Mare so often. thanos dragon kinda nice
3:01 - Oh wow I really do need to sit down and watch 60's Spider Man sometime XDXDXD
4:15 - There's only been one genius in this business, and that was Señor Wences! A little lipstick, some hair, and his hand, and the guy had a career for eighty-five years!
13:10 - Yeah I have to imagine someone back then would have thought _"y'know this Ritual game mechanic actually sucks how about we don't translate it into the real life game?"_ There is such a thing as staying TOO true to the source material, just look at the Jojo anime for example.
Noob is such a wierd way of saying "I just got this game today and I have no idea what I am doing."
9:05 where is that monkey from?
The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists!
Dark bribe wasn't power crept by solemn judgment. Judgment is a way older card
seriously, solem was one of the original omni negate, don't know what he was talking there
The only one I disagree on is Chaos Max Dragon. Yes if it’s your only win con then it’s going to lose, but as part of a more robust Blue-Eyes deck it can be a be a powerhouse.
Dark Bribe is actually not bad... in Counter Fairies.
That’s a Konosuba shirt right?
I mean supply squad could be good in decks that pop there own monsters. I get your point but just because your deck is working doesn't mean you're gonna win. Could draw an extender with it, get an extra handtrap to slow down your opponent, etc. Still not a great card but certain decks could use it better than desires
Oh wow, Dark Bribe. I still remember I used this in Tag Force 5 and I run 3 of it.
There are two types of scrub moments in master duel when it comes to fan favorite archetypes I’ve noticed:
1. Fan favorite archetypes that are just bad/mediocre (DM, Blue Eyes, Toons)
2. Fan favorite archetypes that are hard to play so they have no clue what they’re doing (Synchrons, Speedroid, D/D/D)
Either option reveals the scrub within
Push your fan fave deck to its limit.
You're just gonna be ok, so be your best kind of ok.
I don’t get that attitude. If you enjoy playing the deck, isn’t that all that matters? Not everyone is in it for the competitive aspect. Some of us just want to use fun anime cards. If that makes someone a scrub then I embrace being a scrub.
@@tommyl.dayandtherunaways820 see you get it. There's nothing wrong with being a scrub.
If you want a less terrible magical cylinder, there’s time thief chronocorder. It’s also not that common, so 8/10 time your opponent wont read it and will kill themself
I think vanilla fusion monsters summoned with polymerization are actually worse than a ritual monster, but it’s probably very close.
Daddy Dave has returned!! Welcome back
Hear me out
Shard of greed was pretty clutch for me when using a really degen stally Exodia, royal magical library chicken game draw power deck back when chicken game was at 3 for like that one month
So the goal of your deck is to draw every single card in it turn 1 and you play a card that makes you wait 2 turns? Sounds like a horrible idea.
The only real use for Magical Mallet is in an Exodia deck; other than that, it's terrible.
d.d Dynamite banquet player : but dave M.M is mandatory at least one for my deck
I just realised that dark bribe might actually fit quite well into my Generaider deck for using it on my own turn to pump out a level 9 from the deck
Way to put my generation of cards on blast dave ow! my hip
Re: Chaox MAX
I had fun beating over one with Fossil Dragon Skullgios and dealing 7000 battle damage with that one attack.
What about Card Destruction? Is that good or not?
Power creeped by Judgment? Im pretty sure Solemn Judgment existed before Dark Bribe. And who the heck ever used Dark Bribe? Though I suppose in terms of card advantage it was technically just the reverse of Magic and Trap Jammer, but could be used for both. But even then did anyone actually use it?
The entire list should've been Blue-Eyes cards.
are fortune fairies a good enough reason to play maller/reload?
You know they miss timing when you do that right?
Aromas could probably use Soul Absorption to further their effects on the board.
I've tried it a year or so ago and it's not that good. Maybe now it might be better but I doubt it
@@HazeEmry I suppose that's true; Aroma LP control cards have at least one other thing to help better than that.
I would have gone with top 10 cards Dave runs at 3 in his deck but Top 10 noob cards works too
I made it to plat 4 with 2 dark bribe in My anti meta deck but tbf I also had 3 solemn
My lvl 4 beater won me a duel in master duel because my opponent activated magic cylinder with magic cylinders but dododo bot is unaffected by card effects when it attacks
13:30
Why does EVERYONE forget Megalith have a ritual spell!???
Mirror Force is timeless and no Frog will me convince otherwise...
A classic yes
Good, not any more
Yeah...idk the last time i got beaten due to mirror force or.any of it variants.
Dark Bribe, Magic Cylinder, and Soul Absorption all show up in Platinum ranks.
Funny enough someone Magic Cylinder me, but I had Double or Nothing in hand because drawing Garnets is fearly easy
(Whenever I think of Backrow protection The Despair Uranus comes to mind and well people say it's too slow so meh)
6 - Shard of Greed (8:57); Absolutely useless and too slow for current format, you could possibly use this card in a Sacred Beast/Three Phantasm deck as a target for Opening of the Spirit Gates but Dirge of the Lost Dragon or Blockout Curtain are just plain out better (one basically halves the life points of your opponent if you know what they play as well as it can stop them from playing it to a degree and the other is protection) or maybe an even better continuous spell that I don't know of.
Loving the Konosuba shirt
Heh, Poison of the Old Man is a 3 of in Aroma, while if someone is playing Yang Zing, or monsters that like being destroyed, Supply Squad is a popular option. Yes we know those decks are super weak, doesn't mean they aren't fun. Make Nigh UNKILLABLE monster, pass turn
