INAUGURATION OF LONGKHAO AMRIT SAROVAR AT S/Wamsa Village on @15th 2023.

The Longkhao Amrit Sarovar at Sheanghah Wamsa was initiated under Mission Amrit Sarovar launched on April 2022 by PM Narendra Modi to mark the country's 75th Independence Day Anniversary 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav'.
Longkhao a very important heritage site for the Sheanghah Wamsa villagers was thus rejuvenated under the Amrit Sarovar Mission. S/Wamsa village comes under Rural Development Block Phomching, Mon district. The Longkhao Amrit Sarovar work was done under the MGNREGA Scheme.
The Sarovar is now used for irrigation purposes and also for rearing fishes. It has the potential to be a eco-tourism hot spot. The Sarovar was inaugurated on 15th August 2023. It was a community event attended by all section of the society. The students partook in singing the National Anthem and also performed a special choreography.
