Thanks for the great demo. I’m curious to know if you can tune the drums [808/909/606] in a similar way to the way a TR-8 or TR-8s’ technology is via ACB.
@@SoundsAndGear ~ hey there ~ I’ve been having trouble getting my Jupiter X to send/receive midi thru my MioXL router. I’ve tried downloading the midi driver onto my Mac, but I’m still having issues getting a signal thru. Is there an email address I can send you a breakdown of what I’m trying to do? It looks like you really know how to setup the XM, so I’m hoping I can find someone who has expertise who can help. Thanks! My name is Pete
Been using FL Studio for years and I was always hesitant to make the switch to Ableton. But since I have the Jupiter Xm for a couple of months now and watching your video, you talked me into it :-) Thanks, great little demo !
My XM arrived today, still in the box (I have a cast on one arm so not as fun). Thanks for the videos on the XM’s capabilities. Looking forward to taking it out of the box soon!
Thanks for watching! I also tried it in Logic and the workflow is pretty much the same with the multiple channels. I haven't tried MIDI personally but I'm sure it should be fine.
Ahahahaha, I hear that! The X looks great for sure, can't deny that lol. But something about this little board is really nice, same sound in a smaller package...I dig it.
Hey where can I adjust how loud my X is playing into ableton? I noticed on yours as well its sort of quiet when your recording into ableton and when trying to play sounds I would like it to sound louder. Is there a setting on Jupiter that can achieve this or am I just supposed to add a limiter? Thanks
Any idea how to adjust the level of the local sounds being played? When record is activated in the DAW you get a doubling of the audio going into the DAW and coming back out the synth and the onboard sounds...inherit latency makes for a doubling sound! Any way to turn off the local sounds and only hear whats going into the DAW and back out the synth?
Very informative video mate, thanks. I will try to reroute my out signals beginning with 3/4 as you have done. Hope it works with Logic Pro in the same way. By all means check Logic if you are able to.
Hello! Tell me please, why when I record independent parts(not stereo mix) they are going without any fx(reverb, delay etc.) to my DAW? And how to turn on fx for all parts in the usb recording? Thank you in advance!
Hi guys, I've begun noticing another minor issue once hooked up to a DAW, namely, when looping a section, and playing around with filters and lfos etc, the xm crashes.
This only works if you're using the Jupiter-Xm as your input, not your interface. This is for the USB connection on the Jupiter. All sounds come through 1/2, then each part is individual on the other inputs.
Hi! Great video, been eyeing this one alot. Question though, i have integra, which supports xv sound expansions, wondering as this one has xv engine, is it possible to lod expansion boards on this thing? Or are they included with possibly? Cheers
Only thing i hoped for the bigger x model were multiple outputs, but yeah, cant get it all. Would have been great though to route separate tracks from mixer to sampler.. guess its too old school nowdays. One thing though, is the usb audio basic roland, have to use it as a soundcard?
@@SoundsAndGear Cool, thanks for answer! Probably it will not get those at least while they are still selling new integras. Is it so that to use usb multistream, you need to use integra as an interface in daw?
@@SoundsAndGear Oh. thats cool news.. i think roland announced they are going towards cross-compatibilty with these zen-core synths, and this one seems the best synth to go.. so hope so!
When using Part 5 for Drums how can you change the individual volume between say the snare & kick without affecting the whole stereo output of that part?
Ok ok NASA presidential, top floor, making executive moves on the Roland gear. Using Casio Calculators to calculate reverb and delay times. So where can I get that table?
@@dankefurnichts I never really used it much either, but I did get it to work, and the concept was pretty cool. Now it's not so uncommon, but back then, it was pretty cool. The only other ones doing it were Yamaha, they let you buy a firewire card and add to the Motif line lol. There may have been someone else but it wasn't common for sure.
Extremely helpful. I'll be rewatching this when my Xm gets here.
Glad to help! It works pretty well.

@@mint909 Thanks for watching. I haven't spent much time with the drums (and haven't used any of the TR products) So I can't say.

You can adjust the part volume for each part.
Thanks for the upload! Quick question, I’m using my keyboard as well to record. How can I tweak the sound to make it richer/fuller?
Thanks for watching. You can tweak any settings you want, add fx, plugins, etc

Turn off monitoring from the DAW
SoundsAndGear tried it but it’s still not behaving as expected :) I’m using Bitwig...maybe that’s an issue in this scenario.

Sorry I no longer have this so I can't check, I'd suggest getting with Roland support.
Now how can i get each part of the drums out on their own part like the kick one on snare etc not them recorded all in one
I don't know if you can.
Hi guys, I've begun noticing another minor issue once hooked up to a DAW, namely, when looping a section, and playing around with filters and lfos etc, the xm crashes.
Don't know I haven't tried it via MIDI I'm only using it to capture audio from the Xm
Can the MPCX see those 5 Jupiter X channels over USB in standalone mode?
MPC doesn't officially have support external audio interfaces so it's not something I tried. I just record the audio as usual.
Followed the instructions but all sounds continue to come through 1/2 and 3/4, nothing more. Any obvious troubleshoots?
We use the Apollo twin interface

You have to go into the parameters for the kit on the Xm and adjust the volume of each sound.

Can I use this with the mpc using multiple midi channels
I don't see why not.

@@swiggarebel You'd just send on midi channels 1 - 5 and it should correspond to the 5 parts.
is the preloaded models sign a sticker?
Yeah looks like a sticker/overlay, it was already on there from the factory though. Wonder if they will update it when they add new models.
