“Praying to every god you believe in, and probably some that you don’t…” I love these little humor quips you add to the commentary. It gives these guides more personality!
Ah yes, alignment hops and snake drifting - the two banes of my existence. I love playing on this track, but I have a lot to get decently proficient at before I even attempt a time trial I'm willing to let even close friends see.
I tried some of these tricks but I swear it’s quicker to not swurve and drift on straights sometimes. Like those first couple of jumps where you do the left drift into the right turn was slower everytime I took the turn normally, I rlly don’t get the mariokart meta
Basically cause I thought it was gonna take a lot longer for the tracks to be figured out than it actually ended up taking, and I didn’t wanna jump the gun and make a tutorial that was gonna be outdated in a week Turns out that WRs look more or less the same after week 1
Hey Bayesic, can you give me you top 5 hardest track in the game? My ranking will be 1. Ribbon Road 2. Tick Tock Vlock 3. Sqeaky Clean Sprint 4. DK Summit 5. Donut plains 3
Thanks, I love this series. This is the first track where I've tried snaking in any serious way - are you hard drifting or soft drifting when you snake? What's the pattern there?
@@Bayesic I saw in comment on PiiMK's video about how snaking works that you have to delay drift into the soft drifting angle. What does that mean exactly?
I only use Time Trials to beat the staff ghosts-for completion’s sake, because I’m hoping they’ll unlock something at the end of wave six. Vancouver Velocity was a pest. I have a conspiracy theory that they’ve made the Tour staff ghosts deliberately harder… 🧐
I did this without help from baysic since he had only just made squeaky clean sprint's vid, it was SO confusing. Even after this, its still, fucking, confusing.
brother, you make me want to avoid this track at all costs hahah this is probably a track I've raced on the least, & think it's fun, but in the sense of time trialing .. I don't know that I want the smoke.
Given the amount of time I spent fucking about on this godforsaken track, if any of you guys beat me when we run this, I’m just gonna delete my entire RUclips channel
Your so focused on the 3 different methods that you failed to mention where to mushroom. Also you need a video solely on soft drifting. I thought from the other video that it meant drifting without touching the joystick but I don't think that's correct. I also seem to have issues snake drifting straight aways without hitting either side
The mushrooms were definitely an oversight on my part, but you can just watch the run to see where I use them As for soft drifting, the most viewed video on my channel covers it in detail, and I link to it in the description of all my tutorials. If you don't wanna watch the whole thing though, I've also got a pretty popular short on my channel as well that goes over it ruclips.net/user/shortsm2dpo4Fz6j8?feature=share
@Bayesic thanks so much, your whole series has kept me sane while beating the staff ghosts. Can't get anywhere near your times, but can at least squeak by the ghosts. 9 more to go and I'm finally done
you could easily expand the length of the video and not skip so often, maybe show the ghost in the beginning completely. It really confused me that you skipped so much and didn't showed the grass shortcut until the very end due to skipping (like "where did the mushroom go? Where are we"?). Isn't video length (actually watch time) better for youtube algorithm anyway?
I’ve learned the the more I explain strategies that you could easily get from just watching a ghost on your own, the less time people actually spend watching the video A lot of my earlier tutorials are two, sometimes as much as three times as long as this but get a lot less than twice the total watch time. My philosophy is: if there’s something advanced or unintuitive going on in the run, I explain it. If there’s no real explanation needed (such as where to use mushrooms) then you can see it from the ghost replay at the end of the video
This is the track I time trialed the most and can confirm that it's one of the tracks of all time in that regard
Truer words have never been spoken

ngl I was pretty proud of that one
@@Bayesic Yeah I love the jokes you put in, makes the tutorials more engaging to watch
@@Bayesicmy god is Vancouver Velocity, and if Vancouver Velocity doesn’t want to cooperate with me, do I still pray to Vancouver Velocity?
Always enjoy these, I think they're by far the most accessible content if you want to get more serious about mario kart.
W bayesic upload

Thanks!
I love your vids
Great video! Thanks a lot!!!
Hey Bayesic, maybe you could make a video about making a tier list about the difficulty of each of the tracks about speedrunning it!? 🏎️
You’re one step ahead of me lol
i always seem to get mario karted on this track. it’s just inevitable 😂

Why aren't there Tutorials for Paris Promenade, Toad Circuit, Choco Mountain and shroom ridge?

Always soft drifting. As for the pattern I forget exactly, you’d have to check what I do in the run

@@raswartz check out my advanced strats video (deep dives playlist on the main channel). Normally I’d just explain but it’s way easier to just show it

Are you still updating the website? I found it very useful but its pretty out of date at this point
How so? Stats should all be up to date but may be missing Petey / Kamek / Wiggler, but they’re the same as gold Mario, Luigi, and waluigi respectively
Oh really? I didn't know that nothing changed, I just didn't see any of the newest characters so I just assumed that it was out of date. Thanks :)
