Also best aspect of the characters is that it's a fixed cast, there are only these 12 characters for the entire series, no one off episode characters, no background characters, no parents. With the exception of the movie of course. Every character got multiple episodes to shine and develop. No one felt unnecessary or underused.
There was a single one off character, Eddy’s brother, and that was for the finale of the movie. They went 130 episodes, 4 specials and 3/4 of a movie with just those 12 characters. I don’t think any other show can make a claim like that
I liked Wish You Were Ed, the one with the famous "That's My Horse" scene. Antonucci said that his family were Italian immigrants, so he put a lot of himself into Rolf and what Rolf has to deal with growing up.
Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy mean everything to me. I was 7 when this aired, loved it then, love it now. Even nearing my 30s I can indulge in this cartoon without embarrassment. It is innocent, well written and above all else, utterly hilarious. The Ed boys are timeless. ❤
I think 1 reason Ed, Edd N Eddy worked so well was despite the fact it's protagonists are jerks at times, the fact they were also outsiders that often lose/fail at their scams makes you sympathize with them and makes you want to see them succeed, hence why the payoff at the end of the movie finale works.
That's true, but I would really only say that Eddy was a jerk, not so much Ed or Double D; they just kinda sort of went along with his schemes because they were his friends, and probably because it was a fun, interesting way to spend their time. But overall, yes, they did fail a lot, so much so that you can probably count how many times they actually succeeded in the end on the fingers of just one hand (don't quote me on this), so seeing them FINALLY getting a break at the end and being accepted by the other kids felt cathartic; no one else really seemed to more than just put up with them, but in the end, they finally got to be redeemed
I remember that I saw a, meme Facebook when it was a big deal back then and I looked at Wikipedia to discover the movie which I never thought it was existed as I was at in my high school, then all of a sudden I saw this on RUclips and it was perfect for all the right reasons plus I was able to get the final episodes of it afterwards.
That’s what I really love about them, I always rooted them when I was a kid, while growing up I realized the reason why they’d do such thing and it’s not always about the jawbreakers Ed, Edd n’ Eddy will always be Cartoon Network’s #1 show
worth pointing out the show was also notorious forthe whacky sound effects it used, to the point where last year someone let out a huge Google Drive file with EVERY SINGLE SOUND EFFECT from the show, and people immediatly started to edit videos like videogame cutscenes and movie scenes with these sound effects and one-liners put into it, and needless to say, those videos are HILARIOUS!
Even though 99 was late in the ska game, I was still hearing it everywhere and it absolutely fits the vibe of this show and vibes I was feeling at the time

I often put Ed, Edd, and Eddy in my mind right next to KND. I think both shows to a fantastic job of portraying what it meant to be a kid and growing up as a kid. The imagination and fantastical way we can often see the world as when we are younger. I appreciate what both shows did for me growing up and expanding my imagination while also giving me solidarity as a kid. They were great memories.

This show was the crown jewel of my childhood. This was something that shaped a huge portion of my creativity and imagination growing up, and I can't imagine a time without it.
This was one of those shows that helped shape so much of how I grew up! I remember the style putting a lot of parents off, but then they'd watch and realize how poignant it was in capturing how many of us saw the world. Everything felt larger than life, which was perfect for a target audience that often felt the world was simultaneously too large and so very, very small. Thanks for this awesome video, I needed this kind of warm nostalgia today!
Ed, Edd n Eddy holds the crowning honor of my favorite show ever. I first saw it when I was six-and-a-half in 1999. Back then, I was learning what type of niche I would fall into. Almost immediately, I fell in love with the show's style of distinct humor and lovely animation style. The repeated use of sound effects was also a treat. My favorite character is easily Ed. A perfect example of a lovable oaf, he's just a sweetheart who enjoys everyone and everything. He's got flaws, sure, but his kindness and immense physical strength is wonderful. Ed, Edd n Eddy is one of those shows that never gets old to me.
Being the kid of a storyboard artist surrounded by animators, the Ed's spoke to me from an artistic standpoint. This was the only show that was grafted on to me, even with all the other shows at the time being absolute bangers.
This was and still is one of the best cartoons ever made. The personalities in it are perfect; everyone can become and feel like the character they sympathize the most with. With 2 of my best friends, this series felt like we were the main characters sometimes. Watching these episodes was one of my most unforgettable memories from my childhood. Once in a while, when I watch an episode from it, it still brings the same joy and happiness from my long forgotten young years. I'm happy that I watched it on CN when it was aired and if I could go back in time I would do it again.
One of my favorite lines in any cartoon, that I still say to this day came from this show. It was Double D's "I'm surrounded by idiots" and Ed being literally "grounded". Eddy's "WHAT HAPPEN TO THE STAIRS!!??" Edit: Going back and catching some the adult jokes. Such as double worrying that the Kankers' were becoming "amorous".
@@isobelmiller7464 Yes, you're correct, it was. But while I've seen Lion King a few times, Ed, Edd, n Eddy had a bigger and more memorable impact on me.
Considering how strong ed was, the parents must have been op strong to literally "take eds stairs and ground him". Even edd and eddy thought that was intense lol
My personal favorite episode is the one where the Eds start messing with 'cartoon physics', break the universe, and end up in limbo. I love it, it's just so meta and weirdly smart in a mad scientist way.
Ed Edd n Eddy enthralled me with all the stuff they made, out of ordinary items like cardboard boxes. I used to do stuff like that as a result. Made a cardboard vending machine with protein bars (it's all we had lol), among other stuff.
There will never be another cartoon like Edd Ed and Eddy, truly one of Cartoon Networks greatest titans, It has left a huge impact on my childhood, my humor, my outlook on life as an adult, and yet I felt despair knowing it'll never comeback.... thank you early 2000's CN for giving me some of the best cartoons i'll ever see in my lifetime.
I was so young when Ed Edd n Eddy marathon aired on cartoon network. I couldn't help but watch Ed Edd n Eddy marathons and the specials and the movie oh man the movie was something to watch and see.
Being born in 1990 and being 32 now, and this was the cartoon of the generation, still quotable, still hilarious and memorable. It's timeless for sure.
I have some of my strongest childhood memories connected to this show. Me and my siblings used to roleplay as the Eds. Best part, now as an adult, I still think the show holds up as a masterpiece
I will never forget Ed Edd n Eddy at all, as I said many times, it's my favorite cartoon network show alongside Powerpuff girls, Dexter's laboratory, Courage the cowardly dog, Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, Billy and Mandy, Codename kids next door, samurai jack, and much more.
Hands down my favorite show. I was 8 when it came out. I always wished that I lived in a neighborhood like theirs. Even now while I'm 30 years old, I can't help but miss the show so much. Bring back good memories as a kid and will remain in my heart forever. One show to never forget. If I were to have kids, I would want them to see every episode of this show. Awesome video you put together.
Ed Edd n Eddy was my favorite show when I was a kid. I remember rushing home from school on Friday nights back in the day because I didn't want to miss the new episode (I didn't have dvr until I was in middle school lol). Watching this show always takes me back to my childhood in the early 00s and I didn't have a care in the world. Those were the days, I tell ya...
I cannot express how much I truly haven't and wouldn't want to forget this show, you never know the impact of something sometimes until years later once it's gone and feels like lost media. This show brought such a simple joy to my day as a kid, still makes me laugh when I randomly burst out into the intro song ~ it was not flashy or extraordinary but it was extraordinary you know, not crazy different but also nothing is like it so its crazy different. its. gem in my life and kid history. Ed, Edd & Eddy are a treasure in my childhood
"It feels timeless, the greatest aspect is that anyone and kid at any period of time can visit this cul-de-sac and instantly connect with it." It's true. If you look up one of the Ed, Edd and Eddy livestreams, the chat boxes are chock-full of people who obviously haven't even hit a 2-digit age yet. This show wasn't just a gem, it was an Infinity Stone of animation.
Best memory of The Eds. When movie came out, the next day at school (in 10th grade mind you), everyone in my biology class, we talked about it non-stop. I remember watching it my buddies and I cheered when the Eds finally got the recognition that they finally deserved.
This show is my childhood my parents never wanted me watching this because they thought it was not appropriate but I still watched it anyways because I love this show show much growing up!😁😂😊
Samurai Jack and Courage the Cowardly Dog are my favorites, but nothing can even touch the show that gave me so much reassurance that I wasn't as mad as others have seen me.
It warms my heart to see a video giving the edds some love. It was my favorite cartoon as a kid, to this day still is, as well as one of my favorite shows in general. It really connected with both myself and my sister, and I used to recreate "They call him mr. ed" in real life with my sister as toddlers, just having a grand ol time. Best show on cartoon network for me, now and always.
Everytime this show is on CN I would watched it even if its an episode I've already watched before. After watching the Big Picture Show in 2010 it made me realized that my childhood was finnish and that I'm old now!
Won't spoil it but the film is classed as the last episode of the show.. the ending of it hit me right in the feels... if you watch it..theres more after the credits which left me confused.
I’ve been watching your videos for a few days and I don’t know what it is about this one but it made me cry. I felt so connected to all the characters in Ed edd n eddy, and they all meant the world to me, as a kid I felt it was the fantastical world I’d always wanted to be apart of 3 close friends and all their neighborhood buddies getting into mischief and adventure together learning life lessons day by day I felt like I was growing with the characters because I had a similar dynamic on the culdesac I lived on. I miss being a kid.
I've been born in march 1999, but started watching that show only in 2007 till 2013, witch various broadcasting time. 2013 was the last year it was broadcasted here, only one or two episodes after 1pm. Bro, one time I woke at 4AM and it were the Powerpuff girls being broadcasted and after that came Ed, Edd and Eddy.
This was and still is my favorite cartoon. It was also always shown at my bedtime but I convinced my parents for that extra half-hour to watch it and they fell in love too.
I'm a little late but if you send this to Danny I'm sure he'd watch it. Me and my buddy showed him our Ed tattoos and he was super chill and humble, responding to us and just being an all around legend. I love this show so much.
I still remember during summer vacation as a kid (maybe in 2000? I feel like it was in 2000.) CN ran a RIDICULOUS marathon for Ed, Edd n' Eddy. It would be on all day every day nonstop, but I remember getting my fill of that show and enjoying it regardless. Though I did take breaks by watching stuff on Nick or Disney. Now I just feel nostalgic and a bit sad whenever I think of this era. We had a LOT of golden shows back then, and I'm grateful for them. I still enjoy this show even to this day even if it does make me miss my childhood.
Ed Edd And Eddy was a lot of things for me. It was a neighborhood of friends for a depressed loner kid who didn't get along with many people in his new state. It was a fun comedy show that i could relate to as I hit Jr high. And now as an adult, its something I can look at and appreciate the artisanal quality of the whole production. Not just the phenomenal animation, but the creative sound effects, some of which are literally stuck in my head to this very day, the voice acting, and masterful writing. It was a defining piece of media for not just cartoon network, but for me as a child.
When I turned it on as a kid, it was just another cartoon to watch. Definitely one of my favorites at the time. Now, as an adult, I realize how much that show meant & taught us. All without being in your face about it and being so damn relatable. I think I could probably go down as one of the best cartoons of our generation
I wish they would release the show complete on dvd or bluray. I have always been a huge fan. I even have the cartoon network Ed Edd n Eddy bowling ball.
@The return of Mr. Tickles not quit, but it has the ed's running on one aide and Edd's ant farm and ants on the other. Also the ball is like an orange swirl.
I was 1 when this showed aired. I do love this show and remember it well growing up. The ed's were awesome. It made me want to just have fun with my friends in the neighborhood honestly. It was a great show to watch after school and that's what it reminds me of.
the episode where eddy imagines the future when hes old when they lock the jawbreakers up in the desk is such a sad orriginal ending to the show ...its a great episode but dang is it sad...i am so glad the movie was the real ending....its so much better
Wow I didn’t even realize Ed Edd N Eddy premiered on the same night that Mick Foley won the WWF Championship and the Fingerpoke of Doom happened in WCW. EENE is my favourite show from Cartoon Networks library and I think it is the greatest show in the Networks history.
Another great nostalgia trip. I never really saw myself as one of the characters but they had a good place in my heart for one of the best shows in cartoon network. Along with a pink dog a cow and chicken trying to make their own way in the world. There were so many different shows when we were kids that were good shows and taught lessons the way they knew how. By just going with it and learning while making a fun adventure. I missed this show because so much of it was living in a place where all the kids knew each other. Something I didn't have growing up per se but I had my share of adventures with my friend and his sister. So if I had to say I was a character in there wouldn't be right. But I would've been friends with Jimmy and Sara if I was there. They reminded me the most of my friends in school. Which if you think about it made us a trio like the Ed's. So I guess I actually have more in common with the boys than I think. Just double d and eddy were girls
I remember as a kid fully memorizing the entire intro song and being able to do all the sound effects for it and every new episode I would get so excited I would sing along (or noise along I guess)
Also best aspect of the characters is that it's a fixed cast, there are only these 12 characters for the entire series, no one off episode characters, no background characters, no parents. With the exception of the movie of course. Every character got multiple episodes to shine and develop. No one felt unnecessary or underused.
12 was a perfect number enough for fresh flavor but also comfortingly consistent.
Someone forgot about Jib. You monster.
There were parents maybe only mention of parents and shown only once or twice and what about eddys brother?
You're forgetting about plank that's 13 man cmon
There was a single one off character, Eddy’s brother, and that was for the finale of the movie. They went 130 episodes, 4 specials and 3/4 of a movie with just those 12 characters. I don’t think any other show can make a claim like that
The episode where the Eds built their own city was always my favorite episode. It it's a social-commentary masterpiece.
Hands down
I liked Wish You Were Ed, the one with the famous "That's My Horse" scene. Antonucci said that his family were Italian immigrants, so he put a lot of himself into Rolf and what Rolf has to deal with growing up.
My favorite episode was the Canadian Squirt Gun one and the one where they get stuck in Johnny's wall.
I like the Up episode when they created a company.
My fav too
My mother hated me watching this because they called each other 'dork' 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Funny, my parents didn't want me watching Dragon Ball Z or playing Halo or whatever, but the cartoon violence here got a pass.
My mom would watch it with me all the time as a kid. XD Now she is watching anime and reading manga.
I don’t blame her it’s a really stupid show it dumbed down kids....

@@isobelmiller7464 Yes, you're correct, it was. But while I've seen Lion King a few times, Ed, Edd, n Eddy had a bigger and more memorable impact on me.
@@0me3s Uh, okay.
Lol. The one specifics I remember from the show is that scene when the stairs are gone lol.
Man... As a kid I was always acting out stuff from this show. This was my favorite cartoon and I think it still is
I will never ever forget this show. This show will always be in my heart.
A great summary of a timeless show. That was pretty much my life as a little kid in the 60's.
Happy 25th Anniversary Ed Edd n Eddy (1/4) still love this series
Being born in 1990 and being 32 now, and this was the cartoon of the generation, still quotable, still hilarious and memorable.
It's timeless for sure.
The reason why I can’t forget this show is because this was the very first cartoon show I’ve ever seen and I can’t leave my childhood behind
The music cuts are smooth. Everything about what you’re putting out on this channel is great work. I still miss the Criterion collection videos also.
Thanks for being an OG for remembering that! I truly appreciate the kind words! It means a lot!
Do you have an Instagram
I have some of my strongest childhood memories connected to this show. Me and my siblings used to roleplay as the Eds. Best part, now as an adult, I still think the show holds up as a masterpiece
Still love this show to this day. It's on HBO Max and I've been re-watching it like crazy.
The boys that were on a never ending hunt for jaw breakers 😂 i absolutely _LOVED_ this show as a kid, one of my all time favorites
Man this show was huge! The art is timeless the content has aged well and it's just a good watch overall. Great video luv
Ed Edd n Eddy was my favorite cartoon growing up. I never missed an opportunity to watch it, at least if I could help it.
who would wanna forget this masterpiece cartoon?
I cannot express how much I truly haven't and wouldn't want to forget this show, you never know the impact of something sometimes until years later once it's gone and feels like lost media. This show brought such a simple joy to my day as a kid, still makes me laugh when I randomly burst out into the intro song ~ it was not flashy or extraordinary but it was extraordinary you know, not crazy different but also nothing is like it so its crazy different. its. gem in my life and kid history. Ed, Edd & Eddy are a treasure in my childhood
"It feels timeless, the greatest aspect is that anyone and kid at any period of time can visit this cul-de-sac and instantly connect with it."
It's true.
I’ve seen a multitude of planks observing workplaces, he’s my reminder of the ever observant watchful eye in a more relaxed and abstract kinda way
This show is my childhood my parents never wanted me watching this because they thought it was not appropriate but I still watched it anyways because I love this show show much growing up!😁😂😊
This was the show that was closest to my heart as a kid. My grandpa even enjoyed watching it with me. Something we did every Friday.
Ed, Edd and Eddy were one of my favorite cartoons growing up. Cannot look at newer cartoons and get the same feeling that these old shows gave me.
This was my absolute favorite show on the network. Nothing was as memorable as it and it's opening theme. Truly a great show
Samurai Jack and Courage the Cowardly Dog are my favorites, but nothing can even touch the show that gave me so much reassurance that I wasn't as mad as others have seen me.
i didn't like this very much when it first came out but definitely grew to love it as i got older and my sense of humour developed haha
One of if not my favorite cartoon ever. Thanks for covering it!!
Loved this show growing up, I didn’t know there was a movie. Great video Jordan.
Won't spoil it but the film is classed as the last episode of the show.. the ending of it hit me right in the feels... if you watch it..theres more after the credits which left me confused.
it’s a great movie. wraps everything up perfectly
Wow January 1999? I was only 5 then! My mom and older sister loved this show too and would do the whistle from the theme song all the time.
Ed, Eddie and eddy meant so much to me. As an adult, it still does. It's one of those cartoons I'll never forget.
It was also always shown at my bedtime but I convinced my parents for that extra half-hour to watch it and they fell in love too.
growing up in vietnam, this show definitely helped me learning english and de-stress my day after going to school and extra classes outside school
The intro alone is why I won’t ever forget about Ed,edd n eddy. That trumpet lives rent free in my head
most definitely my most loved show growing up
I was the Rolf in my neighborhood, plastic on the couches and everything! 😅
Ed, Edd, ‘n Eddy is my favorite classic CN show.
Ed, Edd, and Eddy will always be one of the best cartoons ever. It’s only matched for me by Recess.
I remember being a little kid and loving this show
I'm a little late but if you send this to Danny I'm sure he'd watch it. Me and my buddy showed him our Ed tattoos and he was super chill and humble, responding to us and just being an all around legend. I love this show so much.
This was my favorite show as a kid. I’ve seen every episode and know most of the lines. I love this show and I still watch it now
I still remember during summer vacation as a kid (maybe in 2000?
I forgot how much I loved this show! I remember when it premiered on YTV...crazy!
The editing in the video was dope.
Wait. They made an officially licensed Ed Edd & Eddy _bowling ball?!_
@@WobblesandBean yup. Was released back in 2001 for cartoon network. I bought it years ago on ebay.
@The return of Mr. Tickles not quit, but it has the ed's running on one aide and Edd's ant farm and ants on the other. Also the ball is like an orange swirl.
@The return of Mr. Tickles I take it bowling. I love bowling and even though it is 10lbs I get enjoyment from it.
I was 1 when this showed aired. I do love this show and remember it well growing up. The ed's were awesome.
It made me want to just have fun with my friends in the neighborhood honestly. It was a great show to watch after school and that's what it reminds me of.
This show was for me an escape into a world that was simpler and isolated yet creative and full of life
the episode where eddy imagines the future when hes old when they lock the jawbreakers up in the desk is such a sad orriginal ending to the show ...its a great episode but dang is it sad...i am so glad the movie was the real ending....its so much better
This show is the main reason I love slapstick so much
this was and always will be my favorite show
The timeless classic will never fade. Not from history nor memory
Truly one of the best shows ever in my eyes. I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Ed, Edd,, N Eddy.
Oh god, 99 uh, im friking old.
I gotta say, the edition and writing on these videos has been great, keep at it!
Ed Edd n Eddy was a staple of my younger days, and i still watch it in my 30s. Only downfall was the 4th-5th season when they're in school...
I remember as a kid fully memorizing the entire intro song and being able to do all the sound effects for it and every new episode I would get so excited I would sing along (or noise along I guess)
