Seriously. What condition did CX and Jing put in? All three loved her selflessly. All three were best in their own way and had drawbacks in their own way. She just chose one of the three.

They are of merchants clans and have no pull in the courts. XL could of also gained from using XY but wouldn't betray the women he loves and would rather bear the guilt to his comrades himself by dying with them.

The novel goes into more detail at that moment. Did you read the novel? The drama only highlighted so much. You automatically think im a XL fan. But let me tell you I was a TSJ fan the first time I read the novel. And after the 4th time my favoritism changed drastically. XL, CX, TSJ, XY.

In the novel, he really did kill Jing because he hated and was jealous of him. You call this type of love selfess? It wasn't until the very end that he finally let go of his obsession. Jing wanted to be with Xiao Yao forever. Remember when he asked her to give him 15 years to break off his engagement with Fangfeng Yiying and not to fall in love with any other men in the meantime? That's a condition --> not unconditional love. Plus, Jing is always there whenever Xiao Yao is around Xiang Liu. Why do you think so? Only Xiang Liu's love was selfless. He loved her so much that he was willing to let her go be happy with someone else who can give her what he himself can't, even though it pained him. He did so much for her without expecting anything in return, unlike Cang Xuan and Jing.
XL was truly a character with amazing depth and growth. He was literally peeled back layer by layer. Starting from a primeval, animalistic, no feeling character. To figuring out what love was, while falling into it. Staying ture to original resolutions, while making sure everything for XY met the expectation that shes been painstakingly yearning for. All while making sure, she never felt like she was indebted to him. Truely a selfless character 😢.
Throughout this whole drama, I found most of the scenes with the demon were heart wrenching, full of suffering and his sacrificing for her. His love was unbeatable in my opinion. She truly loved him but was too afraid to allow him into her dreams/to hope for a future with him since he had his path to follow and would not give it up and her greatest fear was abandonment. Though Jing loves her so deeply I still feel she missed out on the greatest (most profound) love of all due to her fears. This demon has broken my heart all the way thru the drama in both season 1 & season 2. Must be they designed it to break hearts. I still don't understand why I continue to watch while knowing how heartbroken I will feel. Perhaps it is to be able to see him again no matter how briefly. I am in awe of and captivated by this fictional character.
Even without Jing I dont think XL and XY could be together. Otherwise her story would have been a repeat of her parents. Where she had to loose him or kill him for her family, their child would have to hide around for being the child of nine head snake and she would have been abandoned once more. XL would have never chosen that future for her. This may look sad but is happy ending for all of them. All four got what they wanted. CX got power to protect his people. XY and Jing got peaceful life without power struggle. And XY could finally die peacefully knowing he repaid his foster father and knowing that he is not leaving the woman he loves behind all alone defenseless and in misery. The one line from XL that made him fal for her, he managed to change it for good.
Here, I'm in awe and so much impressed by Mr. Tan's little little nuances or gestures of his profound acting skills.! I'm ❣️in love❣️with 🙏🏻Lord Xiang Liu and i'm again ❣️in love❣️ with 🌟Mr. Tan Jianci🌟 🙏🏻GOD BLESS HiM💗👐🏻👐🏻👐🏻💜
The heart wants what the heart wants. Love can stay in Xiang Liu and Xiao Yao’s hearts until the day they die. To love or be loved is not required to be together physically.
The novel's ending is supposed to be open for interpretation. In the novel, this "moonlight watching" scene is supposed to have "Then, Jing kissed the curve of her neck..." "He let her tears fall on his hands..." Those lines are very crucial. The moon, the neck, the tears. 🤞💕😱
Tushan Jing is so sweet and kind would do anything for her. He has never threatened or physically hurt her like Xiang Liu. Xiang Liu whipped her 40 times knowing she was a woman the first time they met. I don’t understand women who like men like that and not sweet gentle ones. Do you all hate yourselves that much?
La verdad, en la segunda temporada por alguna razón le dieron más protagonismo a Xiang Liu. Yo creo que sí de poder se habla, Tushan estaría a la altura de la serpiente, de no ser por culpa de su hermano (casi lo mata), la novia del hermano (lo envenenó) le dió todo su poder a Xiayao cuando casi la matan en el bosque. Se volvió una presa fácil para deshacerse de él. Si no hubiera sido por Tushan, Can Xuan no estuviera en esa posición de poder, incluso ayudó muchas veces a Xiang Liu. Él es el más estratega e inteligente que los otros personajes. No es muy común ver a un personaje lindo que busca una vida sencilla, estamos acostumbrados a ver a los protagonistas Fríos, vengativos y cuando se enamoran se "ablandan" , por eso los idealizamos. A mí sí me gustó Tushan, es mi favorito, pero me hubiera gustado otro final para la serpiente 🤷

Only Xian's Liu loved the supreme, selfless way. He wished the best for the one he loved and was using compassion and letting go / relinquishment at the same time. Mere mortals cannot achieve this, as this is supermundane , beyond the worldly love. He is truly free from the attachment of love if he can let go of the longing as well. The love poison bug seem like an antanfked particle in quantum physics.
The dialogues are so beautiful that they tug at the heart strings of an old fashioned person like myself. Not the usual feminist/ woke-ish stuff so common these days in movies.
So did Xiang liu choose the path of death because she told him she didn't want him to enter into her dreams? He seemed to recall that bitterly when he flicked the big bellied doll? He also recalled that when he put poison on Feng Long's arrow?
Maybe, if he left the army and true to his offer to make them a couple and travel the world when XY challenged him, it would be a different story. Tuscan Jing is XY’s best choice. For me. He is the perfect guy for every woman in this world. I also like XL but he’s very complicated. XY is scared of him. TJ is where XY is most at peace and happiest…he ‘s her HOME.

If you love someone and don't make efforts to make that person know and don't fight for your love, you're just a hypocrite, a faker. This series try to make Xiang Liu be the perfect lover, but i find it tasteless, fake, unrealistic.
