Well done. Just one little issue in the video: ear connects to ear of the cassette recorder, and mic to mic. So ear is the input, mic is the output. In fact it is possible to load via the mic port like you did because of the internal circuit. But it requires a different volume level. So better to connect the TZXDuino to the ear socket!

Oh really? I was not aware of that. Thanks!

Just tried that and it`s a lot louder. Got excited but it crashes still on some games. I`m starting to think some RAM is faulty as JetPac loads every time which I think is 16K but larger games seem to crash. More fun.

Loving the videos! I grew up with an Amstrad CPC 6128 with a green screen. I had it from aged 5 to 15 and it was a fantastic machine. Gutted my parents sold it. Keep up the great work!

Very nice! I see you got a version with an amplifier. Good thing since the ZX Spectrum needs it usually. Glad you got it working! 👍

Thanks Noel. I got another one that was already built, and it seems to be even better.

Nice video. The jetpac game really got me interested! Nice shelf lighting you got also. I might copy that in my new computer room (Ingri calls it the gutterom). I think all the dev boards Ive had have had some effort in installing drivers. The ch340 is very common for cheep arduino clones, so you are set for future arduino projects 🙂

I don't want to do all the hardware, just need to know the sound generation algoritm and answer to the question "can you speed it up?". I want to make something like this to run on a Macbook, more convenient than having an in-between device. I already made a program dumper that does RS232 dumps to another Z80 machine, the P2000, and want to extend that with ZX ouput. I wonder is RS232 is an option too, as on the P2000 loading 40K goes in like 30 seconds with that, much faster than tape loads on the Spectrum.

@@Arcticretro I have a friend who is Norwegian, I like to learn little bits of your language to surprise her with. I now hear so much English in Norwegian. And Russian too. Many common words between all three languages via Norwegian. You should give us some vids on your growing up a norsk koder. Did you grow up eating pizza Grandiosa and listening to Gorgroth? Tusen tak!

I'd quite like someone with better hardware skills than me to do something with an ADC so one can save too. 8 bit Elite loses a lot without a save. Chances are it would need a Pi of some form, rather than a microcontroller...

I'm working on it... just need time...hardware is not the thing... its squeezing the software in...
