I have the same bags except in brown on my new Moto Guzzi V100 Mendello S model they fit perfect, and I love them. They are actually treated from the manufacturer with a type of waterproofing.
I have a set of panniers which have a rail system similar to those. It really makes it nice to load them up with groceries, and then just carry them into the kitchen. 😎
The return of 'kit corner', fantastic. If I'm honest when I saw the pics on Instagram I didn't like the look of these bags at all. However, it must've simply been the camera angle as they look so much better in this presentation. Nicely done TMF, no swear words or blood spilt, a great success.
I would have bought SW Motech Blaze panniers. With those you can unclip the brackets as well as the panniers so you don’t have any unnecessary frames when you take the panniers off. Looks much neater. And they do fittings for both your Triumph and Kawasaki.
I like the unclipping system, but in my opinion the bags don't quite have the right style for modern classic bikes, and I reiterate it's only my opinion. Also they don't have any kind of security, meaning anyone can take the bags out without the keys or any tools. I do agree with you on them being a neater solution in terms of being able to easily remove the brackets for that "clean" look, and I wish H&B and other manufacturers would follow suit in that aspect.
They look like a good, solid practical piece of kit and great that you can lock them on the bike too. Definitely one of the better options on the market and waterproof too, in Freddie's experience, is a welcome bonus especially when carrying expensive electronic kit!
Shock horror, I had a seized oil filter on an old zx9r I couldn't remove and your old video drilling holes into the socket and screwing into the filter worked a treat thanks, you will be teaming up with Millyard or Del at this rate. Cheers Andy
Hey Andy. Good solution! Adding points to the Speed Twin in the battle of Retros which one to keep. My Speed Twin has got a small Hepco lagguge rack since I bougt it. It extends the classy look. I completed it with a SW Motech Pro bag. Sure Hepco will develop C-Bows for the Z1000 soon.
Hi Andy. For the Kawasaki I used to use throw-overs and a decent tank bag for camping 2-up on the Z1 in the 70’s. Mind you the only electronics I had then was a torch! 😁
Great video. Like the looks of both the Speed Twin and the Kawa. Testrode both thoose bikes in the summer. I didnt like the brakes of the Triumph and its heavy and didnt turn in as easy as the Kawa. Its sad because the Triumph is a great looking bike but that also is the Kawa. What a great bike. Handles better, better brakes and easy to tip in. I pick the Kawa for thoose reasons
Hi Andy, I think you can call that a success for both fit and finish, they really do look nice on the Speed Twin, and I'm sure they will be really useful for your future shenanigan's. Thank you.
One of the things that’s helpful with HB stuff is being able to order all finecky parts should any bits become worn out or damaged over time. Been traveling with their luggage systems for at least 25 years.
Thanks Mr. Flyer. What a clever boy, you seem to have greatly improved your DIY skills and I know these "simple" jobs often throw up unforeseeable difficulty. These bags look great on the twin, anyone might think they are Triumph parts. I usually go for a backpack (I know you hate them lol) and don't tend to do extended trips on my bike(s) I look forward to seeing the option you choose for the Z1 :>)
I will mention again the many options from SW Motech. Racks are minimalistic, solid and easy to install with few mounting points. Well thought out. And, German, of course. I just installed the panniers on my 2023 Moto Guzzi yesterday. I chose the “Urban” cases. Very sharp and top class. I can now interchange bags with others from same brand. I ordered one side bag that is more floppy for holding small items and my laptop bag as I don’t need full panniers daily. Great option for your Kawasaki! They seem to update bike list frequently (on top of it) for new bike models. If your bike is not listed, write to them and they do listen. I suggested Zero electric bike racks that were not offered and six months later they appeared! They designed bike-specific racks for the Zero SR/F with photos and all! Very few of this brand are likely requested, so decent of them.
I've been using an SW-Motech panier on my Scrambler 1200XC for the last three years. It's proven to be well-made, durable and a most excellent accessory.
I love the speed twin. The panniers really suit it. I have had C-Bow panniers on a previous bike. They are great. Nice and light. I have panniers for 3 of my bikes, even my old 93 Monster. They add so much practicality.
oh nice, i just bought my own saddle bags from sw Motech. i hope they good as the Hepco & Becker you got . i got a 15L bags, dont want it to protrude out too much lol
Very nice. They make a sperior product. When i added saddle bags to my bike, i had to change the way i mounted the bike, being like you, 5ft 8 and 32in inseam.
Hi Nico from Holland here. I own a Kawasaki z900rs and I mounted the legend gear bags with the slc system from sw-motech. I also mounted the grab rail from sw-motech, because the orinigal rails from Kawasaki do not fit with the slc system. You can get the legend great bags from 10 to 13,5 liters. They look perfect on the Kawasaki and also look nice without the bags attached. Hope this is helpful for you.
Would really like to see, should you decide to, what luggage options there are for that gorgeous Z900RS. I currently use a Kriega US30 dry pack on mine (works just fine) but have always wondered about the offerings from Hepco Becker (Legacy Courier bags)...just a thought...appreciate your content from across the pond...
Must be said, installed they look really smart. The racks are unsightly without the bags but that's the case with most setup's, something we just have to accept.
Nice job Mr Flyer! Didn’t like the look of the brackets when you unpacked them, but once on the bike they’re just fine. In keeping with the style of the Triumph too. Most enjoyable video as usual 😉👍
What a great looking set of bags on a fantastic looking bike. Also the brackets look ok when the bags are left in the garage. You'll be doing an engine rebuild very soon 🤣🤣.
Thanks for this Andy, I have been thinking about getting a set of Hepco & Becker bags myself. In the past I bought some Triumph branded bags for the Bobber and wasn't impressed. They had no locks and the clips holding the catches were just bent metal clips. For the money (and they were not cheap) they were rubbish.
Cracking vlog again, I’ll send you a couple of pics of the sw motech legend gear I’ve put on my z900rs, because I have the same bracket for my r ninet scrambler, they work for me but have an internal waterproof bag
Have you tried the bags on the opposite sides. They look back to front to me. For the Interceptor, you could hang carrier bags from those still massive number plate bolts 😉
Hi Andy, I think those panniers are absolutely spot on for the Twin. They look great on the bike 👍 But if it were me, they would have to stay on the bike permanently. ( I mentioned before my dislike of 'scaffolding' ). Even though these brackets are fairly compact, for me at least, they ruin the back end of the bike 😢 So glad that they are not available for the gorgeous RS 😉 All the best Russ
Any thoughts on the fact that the bags somewhat covers the rear light and indicators from the side? Might obscure your signals a bit especially on roundabouts? Just a thought. They look really good though! Would love them on a Ducati Monster
3:36 ... to give the bags a bit more waterproofing, perhaps products like Saphir Invulner Protector, TRG Protector Waterproofing Spray, Tarrago Oil Nano, etc might be worth investing in. Which one is best, I'm not really sure.
Like you I love my Speed Twin, I bought new in May. But it is difficult to keep clean, so many nooks and crannies. Life is too short to spend hours trying to keep it like new, although I try my best too. Yours is immaculate, I don`t know how you do it...? Like the panniers, I just might get some in the future for a longer trip. Its the thought of all that cleaning when I get home again ! I need a YTS valais to do it for me.
I really don't like side panniers on a bike. It's not just my personal likes and dislikes, it's the fact they stick out so far. I much prefer the top boxes and in particular the Ventura soft bags. I had the bracket fitted to my new Trumpy (T100) and found their Mistral bag (which they don't make anymore) on Facebook Marketplace. Happy as Larry with that arrangement and think it looks really good!! There's also enough room now on the back seat for camping gear, which I'm thinking of getting back into after donkeys years of staying in hotels/motels or apartments. But, as they say, each to their own on the luggage front. 😺
I'll be honest, initially the thought of leather type panniers, brought images of cowboy boots and the like.. But yea I think they work/look really well, especially on that colour speed twin. Good to have the option of practicality 👍.
Looks very nice, think the bike actually looks better with them! Added practicality what's not to l like... Maybe just the price. Great vids keep them coming👍👍
Nice video..... I'm kinda torn... like others have said. I prefer the mounting system for the SW-Motech Blaze.... but like the look of your bags better. Two bad you couldn't get the best of both.
Look very slick Andy 😁. Might be worth a little chat with Mr Millyard and his fantastic wizardry of making things, he could possibly make a copy of the bracket to fit your Kawasaki. 👍
Just heard about Hepco & Becker bags from Freddy Dobbs earlier today Tuesday Dobbs. So it’s a bit of synchronicity on Halloween over the pond in Canada, getting demo on the bags. Just buy another pair for Kawasaki. They look great on the Triumph, finishes it off. Bags are great utility. Keep some Rok Straps and some tools, rain jacket and pants. I have things packed in smaller bags, to put in the bags.
@@TheMissendenFlyer You could get those brackets or frame parts custom made for Kawi 900 very easy. Just ask around, perhaps Dellboy has peeps? It really doesn’t take much.

Would you take the speed twin on a weekend tour Andy? I have just sold my GSA due to disillusionment with adventure bikes in general. Thinking of adding a speed twin to the fleet for weekend hauls. Easy on a GS! what about a speed twin?
I think you are a bit too hard on yourself, TMF - your workshop skills are more than acceptable, lol. (I enjoy your garage clips). Great choice in my opinion - being a full on ADV guy myself, I prefer soft, "saddle" type bags on my T7 (Mosko Moto) as they tend to be less damaged by crashes and drops off-road, but I like the Hepco set up you chose. Looks great on the stunning Speed Twin. Bravo.
The bags do look top quality, just the hangers are a bit big to my mind, for such a nice bike. I prefer the SW-MOTECH BLAZE " Saddle bags, the fixings for them are very neat, only leaving a very small footprint once the bags are removed.
G'day Andy. That kit and bags looks pretty good and solid. If they do create one for the Kwaka, I would certainly look into fitting a set on my RS-SE. Cheers for the video brother.
Regards to the Kawasaki, You Sometimes have to Wait for the Add Ons to Catch Up with Newer Models, Just out of Interest, Did you ever get the Scratch on the 650 Interceptor Sorted on the Swing Arm from Fitting the New Shocks.
Just my personal opinion, but I think the SW Motech mounting hardware looks considerably better that the two "flat planks" you have fitted to the Triumph, which totally ruin the lines of the back end of the bike. H&B panniers do look okay when installed though. Looking forward to seeing the Kwak fitted with SW Motech kit.
I prefer the Hepco and Becker bags wrt security and weather proof but agree the SWM brackets are a bit less obtrusive - but I still don’t think these are that bad looking when the bags are off - ads so much versatility to the bike….
Agreed, at the end of the day practicality and versatility do matter. Maybe that's why out of my nine bikes ( Supermoto, Sports and Retro), I tend to find myself picking up the keys to my T-Max scooter .🤔@@TheMissendenFlyer
I think on balance I'd go for a top box, which would hold a helmet (or two), and well out of the way of all the crud from the road. I know the idea is to look retro, but practicality is more important to me. Those leather straps may look authentic but (as shown in the video) they flap around in the wind, and they would be the first things to wear out.
Really nice those Andy, suits the speed twin and with the bags off looks great too. Love the the vid but with nothing going wrong it does spoil things a little.😂😂
Those bags look good Andy, but I'm not a fan of the C-Bow look I'm afraid. Givi used to do (maybe still do?) an "easy lock" system which uses a lightweight traditional rectangular-ish frame that blends with the bike's styling. PS. Have you worked on Blue Peter? This video was very much "Here's one I fitted earlier" 😉 I can only imagine how the actual fitting experience went... 🤔
These look the business Andy, and the shop actually has an end of season 15% off sale...but even with that I'd be £800 for the C Bow fittings and these particular bags 🥴 (fittings themselves around £180, which actually is ok). As good as these products doubtlessly are, I'll need to wait on a small lottery win for me to be able to justify them at that price.
Hey Andy. A bit off topic. Any thoughts on the new 1300 GS. For me, I took one look at that bike, and a week later I purchased my dream bike. Yep you guessed it, 2023 R 1250 GS. I’m over the moon with this new bike. Run her in at the Great Smoky Mountains. Could not be more excited for my new ride. 😎
Nice - I e not seen the new GS yet (I’ve been out of the country for the last month) - I’m sure it rides great but the looks so far don’t float my boat - I think you may have bought a future classic!
Oooooo it looks so slick!! They'll never let a drop of water in and they'll last forever:)
Cheers Freddie - thanks for your advice on this one…..very happy with them!
I have the same bags except in brown on my new Moto Guzzi V100 Mendello S model they fit perfect, and I love them.

Bravo.
Thank you - glad you approve!
Oh lorks, do I have to watch this through my fingers, it's worrying enough when Freddie gets his tool kit out 😉
Yes, best brace yourself before watching!
Well done, easy to handle. But my personal favorites are the SW-Motech SLC holder an bags ;-)
Stay tuned - I recently fitted those to my Kawasaki!
Good job , Best of luck
Many many thanks!
@@TheMissendenFlyer most welcome
I went for the SW Motech SLC on mine. I noticed you also changed the saddle. Could you please indicate where this one is coming from ?
It’s a custom seat I had made - I forget the name of the place but they were up in Scotland….
The bags do look top quality, just the hangers are a bit big to my mind, for such a nice bike. I prefer the SW-MOTECH BLAZE " Saddle bags, the fixings for them are very neat, only leaving a very small footprint once the bags are removed.
Yes - I now have SW Motech on my Kawasaki - video coming soon….
G'day Andy. That kit and bags looks pretty good and solid. If they do create one for the Kwaka, I would certainly look into fitting a set on my RS-SE. Cheers for the video brother.
Hi Andy. How are you getting on with these bags. They do them for my GSXS 750 and was considering a pair of them.
Yes they are quality items - I’m still yet to tour with them but hope to put that right in due course….
Regards to the Kawasaki, You Sometimes have to Wait for the Add Ons to Catch Up with Newer Models, Just out of Interest, Did you ever get the Scratch on the 650 Interceptor Sorted on the Swing Arm from Fitting the New Shocks.
Indeed…..
Job well done and they look good to
Thank you Garry!
Can you buy the mounting hardware separately? If so one set of bags on all the bikes
Indeed you can - trouble is they don’t make it for the Kawasaki Z900RS SE variant (do for the standard RS)
Unit Garage do a nice wax satchel pannier in brown or black, my choice for light luggage on a retro
Not heard if those - I’ll check em out!
They seem pretty sturdy but point taken. For me a top box would just ruin the look of this particular bike….
@@TheMissendenFlyer For me, a top box pretty much ruins the look of any bike. I don't/won't even have one on my GS.
I think it adds to the look of the GS!
Well done, TMF. 😎 You're an inspiration to all us mechanically illiterate bikers.
Wow, thanks! 🤓
Really nice those Andy, suits the speed twin and with the bags off looks great too. Love the the vid but with nothing going wrong it does spoil things a little.😂😂
Yes sorry about that - surprised me too!
This video was very much "Here's one I fitted earlier" 😉
I can only imagine how the actual fitting experience went... 🤔
Trust me my garage exploits don't usually go so well!
LOL. He who never made a mistake never tried anything! We all have our good days and not-so-good days...
Damn, they're expensive. Looks nice and clean without the bags on there with only the brackets. Yeah if they're giving them to me I'm using them too😂
These look the business Andy, and the shop actually has an end of season 15% off sale...but even with that I'd be £800 for the C Bow fittings and these particular bags 🥴 (fittings themselves around £180, which actually is ok).
As good as these products doubtlessly are, I'll need to wait on a small lottery win for me to be able to justify them at that price.
Yes they are top quality but very expensive I agree….
Great stuffed bags! I warm to the new Triumph twins, if they did a T140D, with the new engine (that doesn't discard bodyparts) I'd be in
Will the panniers from your BMW GS fit your new 1300GS
I’m not yet sold on the new 1300 - I’ve not even seen one yet let alone bought one! Either way the old panniers don’t fit the new bike….
@@TheMissendenFlyer the new triumph 900 looks good
Nice looking kit.
I think so too! Thanks for watching!
@@TheMissendenFlyer - if you were worried about water intrusion, I’ve noticed on their website that they offer rain covers at a reasonable price.
Good video....I went onto the hepco Web site...poor Web site, couldn't find/ load the luggage systems...
Oh dear! Sorry to hear that….
