    Have been growing out my own nails after long term use of acrylics. It has taken a good while but nearly there now. I stumbled on Anna’s content by chance and am so pleased I did. I have invested in some Dior Abricot base coat (to use as a strengthener) and a bottle of Nail Glow. Expensive, yes but about the same as a couple of sets of acrylics. My nails are short and softly rounded. They have never looked better. Healthy and feminine. Thank you so much Anna. I would never have found my new go to look without you. Smashing content.🌻

    I’ve had a bottle of Dior that wasn’t used for three years. I used it recently and was impressed that it didn’t get thick and was still easy to apply.

      I believe it. Polishes lasts a long time when unopened. Opening them and exposing to light is what ages them.

    I recently bought the Dior and couldn't see even a hint of pink with just 1 coat, 2 coats was better, very delicate pink which looked nice and natural. Then I bought the Nails Inc glowing duo after I saw your demo (beautiful, I'm wearing them now 😀). I tried several combinations of the 3 colours, 1 coat vs 2coats, just the glow, glow over shimmer etc and I think the Nails Inc glow has more depth of pink in 1 coat than the Dior. I don't see much difference in sunlight but I'm OK with that. I've also tried Perfect Formula but its too lilac-y for my skin tone. Love your videos, you go to so much trouble for us and it's very much appreciated xx

    I've been using Dior but recently someone mentioned Nails Inc as a dupe so I picked up the Glow Naturale duo. $15 for 2 polishes and I like them both - have used both together and separately. I definitely think Glowing My Way is a dupe for Dior Nail Glow! Thanks for the great video.

    • @TheSalonLife

      I wouldn't call it a dupe but it's very close :) I think dupe is an exact copy where the polish looks (on the nail) exactly the same.

    I would choose Dior Nail Glow over the nails inc. because it gives more natural glow. However, the nail inc. looks hint more blue purple suggesting that you’re either cold or cyanosed. Thank you and I really appreciate your critical approach towards the new releases. Thanks again. ❤

      Yes, to be honest, I feel the same way. I like the brighter look but I don't like when it's too blue. Nails.Inc fades after 2-3 days to more of a bright look and less blue.

    I picked up Essie Hard to Resist as a Nail Glow dupe not too long before Glowing My Way came out, so not looking to try it anytime soon. However I've been doing a similar pairing of sheer light peachy pink under the Hard to Resist (Essie Gel Coture in Fairy Tailor) and LOVE LOVE LOVE how that looks together. Clean but also natural. I've been doing all this work following your advice for repairing peeling nails and damaged cuticles , and I want to show that off with very natural looking nails that still look fantastic! :)

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  2 года назад +7

      The thing about Essie that is very disappointing is that it doesn't brighten the nails and it has no glow ;( The name suggests otherwise.
      That's why I don't consider it a dupe to Dior Nail Glow

    I've been eyeing off the nails inc version for a while and considered buying it because I love the idea of the glow that it gives under uv. I had already purchased the crystals made me do it combo from nails inc because I was in love with the flaky silver polish that came in it. I just realised today that the 45 second top coat that comes in that pack also has the uv glowing properties because it contains the fluorescent brighter ingredient too. So instead of purchasing another I've been layering Bare Rose by orly and the top coat for my french manicure to get a similar effect. It's so pretty! LOVE

    I love Dior Nail Glow (love Dior lip glow, too) however, due to the price, I don’t use it often….I hoard the good stuff!! Instead I use Orly French Manicure in Bare Rose which is very similar. I also like Orly French Manicure in Rose Colored Glasses which is a tad pinker and a bit milky…..stunning shade (IMO). ❣❣

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  2 года назад +8

    Thank you so much for doing this comparison video. I have the Nails inc because it's cruelty free, vegan & has less harmful ingredients ( plus it's affordable!). But being honest, I do prefer the look that Dior gives the nail.
    The Nails inc definitely gives my nails more of a lilac tinge, I wish it could be a natural pink, but I can't go against my beliefs or rob a bank 😉😂🤗😘

I believe I would go with the Dior if wearing the color by itself, to avoid the blue hue. However, I also like the other video you did using the Nails Inc. duo together. So will be putting both on my wish list for some variety. Like others, just want a more natural look these days, but a little variety within that would be nice. I am so tickled, as a long time subscriber, to find this video after buying the Nail Inc Glow and Grow (now available at Walmart for a little less than $8) and wondering why my nails looked blue today! Good to know. I'll be putting Essie's mademoiselle over to hide it bc it's really pronounced and unflattering.
    I also saw a video from you about the new reformulation of the Dior Glow which is much worse than the og formula. Dior fragrance is bad about reformulating and I guess the polish is too. A shame I never got to try the og formula. I'll be trying the manicurist Active Glow instead. I want a glow polish I can wear on it's own for an enhanced natural nail look.

      Hi Cathy! I have to say I don’t know. It’s difficult to tell because I usually try so many things but I would say if it does then a little. I wore just Essie Smooth-e with Essie top coat on one foot and within 2 months the nails are quite yellow. Terrible. On the other foot I had Dazzle Dry just base and top and zero yellowing. So for sure Dior doesn’t yellow nails like that. I’m going to test it properly on one hand vs “control” left hand with DD. I will report back :)

      Yes, that one has formalin (aka formaldehyde) so I don't recommend it as a regular nail polish. It can be a great treatment for soft and bendy nails but it should be used with respect.

      I’m very happy that there is finally an alternative. There is nothing as close out there. Plus the price is decent. Too bad that it’s difficult to find in USA but I’m hoping Beyond Polish will get it
