I had one of these bikes back in '73...which was my very first motorcycle. Have lots of great memories of those days, and the paint truly grabs one attention, thanks to Yamaha! That particular one looks brand new, so Congrats on all the upgrades you've done to it!
Just ran across this, quite a restoration. I own a '73 TX500 (original owner), extensively modified over the years to fix factory faults (like the two-piece head that always leaked oil, replaced with a '76-model one-piece item) and improve performance. Has 124,000 miles on it, includes DC-LA and back in '75.
Many years ago I had a 1973 TX 750 in the exact same color as yours. I can see that the front fender is not original. My bike didn't have these rubber things on the front suspension either. Mine had also an oil cooler and a deeper oil pan. The first ones of these models had problem with over heating. Otherwise you got a fantastic bike, take care of it. Nowdays I drive a 2018 Royal Enfield Classic 500.

I had the same bike in 88, with a green paint. It was m'y first Big motocycle. Souvenirs...beautiful resto ration.
An absolute beauty, sterling work.
I worked in a Yamaha Dealership back then and I hate to say this was the worst mistake Yamaha made that year.
I love this Yamaha TX 750 💐🫶

👍👍👍super machine.
That's a beautiful job you've done there! I remember seeing those at the dealer in 1973. It sounds really good.
Great looking restoration, but kick-start the bloody thing !
Wonderful
I had one of those. Leaked oil from the crankcase. Had the case halves replaced with new leak proof ones. It still leaked. I loved that bike though.
