- Come and join us in a melody,
A song of happiness for you and me.
Sing of joy, sing about a boy,
Little hero, AstroBoy!
Come and join us in a fantasy,
We can all be heroes, you and me.
Sing of joy, sing about a boy,
Little hero, AstroBoy!
Lighting up the way for all,
For soon he will fight for right,
Strong as steel and with a heart of gold.
Sing of glory,
Pour your heart out,
Your voices will be heard,
And it's raining
out with love for all
first time i saw animation as a kid. now i'm an animator
Yeah
👍
That’s awesome
What??? Let's go dude
This isn't an animation
The memories this brings back as a mid forties man, puts a nostalgic smile on my face.
It really is nice to hear such an uplifting and happy tune such as this at the end of every episode, despite the dark themes of the anime in general.
Wasn't dark at all. It was showing the human condition as well as being truthful.
@@rickylovesyou the truth hurts
@@rickylovesyou well, the human condition has a lot of dark spots my friend, reflected in said anime.
this song used to make me happy and sad at the same time
I know what you mean, it still brings a tear in my eye with great happiness
same
still does
reason18 spot on, couldn’t work out why?
Perhaps because it sounds like a sentimental theme and the show is finished.
Growing up in the 80s was the best.
Perfect description of how I'd feel listening to this as a kid.
I get that same feeling everytime as well
one song to take me back to being 7 years old, sitting in front of the tv, playing and watching Astroboy. thank you
Man, I haven't seen that in a long time!
Astro Boy, the original Mega Man!
I loved this song growing as a kid!! I watched this show religiously on ABC
They aired
this a lot in Australia
As a child, I loved watching how the individual drawings turned into the animation of Astro running.
I remember when I was little and watching this show, the outro used to almost make me cry every time. It still does lol
Pretty sure this is why I've had an affinity with beautiful melancholy music my entire life. What a perfect song.
I remember Astroboy being on t.v. every afternoon when I was a kid back in the 80s. Every time I hear this song, it makes me smile and look back.
For its time, animation was great in those days
I often watched this show as an infant and i often wondered why it is that i feel like i want to cry whenever i hear the theme song. The answer is that the episodes had sad endings! FINALLY I KNOW THE ANSWER!
I'm so glad this was passed down to me as a kid, even though I watched this in the early 2000's it inspired me to draw
Something about the song progression makes my eyes water...
I remember watching Astro boy about 7 years ago....
I STILL AM!!!!
Well considering this anime was in production in the late 70s (like 1979) And finally airing in 1980 in Japan, it still got a bit of disco left until the mid to late 80s when disco died.
According to japanese wikipedia this was conceived in 1974
@@chevyfan7930 Evenso, that doesn't mean that entered production in that year. You can hear the disco vibe in a lot of animes of the 80's.
Disco never died it just became house
I was born in 1980 and this aired for when I was young
I loved this show and always watched it until the end credit. I am not going to lie, I got teary eyed at the part when Astro started moving and flying. It was such a part of my childhood. Thank you for the upload.
Seeing astro come to life , that's where the emotion kicks in, as I feel it too, the credits symbolise the magic of animation bringing astro to life, its so sweet
This got me tearing right up and taking me back to the early 80's! Eagerly watching Astro Boy, with my brother after school. The nostalgia! Love it.
I love the 70's undertones that the early 80's (1980 in this case) had. :-)
i AGREE WHOLE HEARTEDLY TECHNICALLY ITS THE 80'S BUT THE 80'S WAS STILL IN ITS INFANCY SO IT HAD 70'S INFLUENCE.
That's the great thing about the late '70s and early '80s; for a brief time, it was the combination of the two best decades.
I agree with each of these comments😎👍
Tottaly agree!!! Lovely and magical sounds comes from that time.
Looking at this is... nice. This wasn't over sexuallized or over dramatic, it was just good hearted and positive. I wish more anime could be like this today...
Check out slice of life genre animes, they usually are calm and positive.
Wah wah. Post this on more videos. Maybe someone will care.
Check out kodomo anime. They got what you're looking for.
i agree that’s why i love it so much
I agree to but its for kids so check Polish dragon ball IT got a big cenzure no womans in bath or shower and no to much brutality sadly dragon ball sadly notbpleyed by idk every chanals so ye RIP a childhodd of thausonds or more Polish kids to im just love astro boy and dragon ball when i was kid i was pleying alot dragon ball on Xbox 360 my childhodd console sadly astro boy not come aut in whole Europ africka 😢
If new remake 3D animated movies and TV series are based on Tezuka's Astro Boy 1963 & 1980 series by the production of Walt Disney Animation Studio at the beginning of the approximately *2060s, we hope this "Astro Boy closing credits" song will be remade as the future Walt Disney's musical song. Merely, the protection period of the copyright can be changed before the 2050s or 2040s.
I finally found the lyrics! This is melting my heart! ❤️
Edit: I like how creative the ending part it because it shows the prosses of making an animation of Atom!!!
Pretty good animation for the early 80s
im 40 years old and i still adore astro boy i watched astro boy 1980s when i was 3 i have never forgot him xxx love from australia
Apparently the voice cast was a bunch of university students at UW-Madison, home of the Badgers.
Just bought a DVD with 7 episodes and I'm surprised at how charming it still is despite its age.At my 4th episode I was already singing of joy about a boy named a hero,Astro Boy!
I used to watch this as a kid in the 2000s. Im 16 now.
Same
The Memories of this one I start to cry 😢😢😭
This is easily one of the most moving theme songs I've heard in a long time. And now that I know the lyrics it is even better.
A great cartoon, and a wonderful song. The man who created this series, Osamu Tezuka said this:
"What I try to appeal through my works is simple. The opinion is just a simple message that follows: "Love all the creatures! Love everything that has life"! I have been trying to express this message in every one of my works..."
Me living in poland when i was little theres no astro cartonns version but atlest astro muve come to poland its kinda sad for me that 3 sesons of robot boy was emitet in poland im know this is no place for that but we can just imagine these kids that this master peace not appers to they cauntry 😢😢
I wish cartoons today were cool like Astro boy 😭😭😭

thank you!!! happy tears as i sing along. stress has had me having troubles at times remembering my childhood (it was a good one) and this helped me a lot. :)
When I was 5 years old, watching this at 6 in the morning on CBC TV in Canada in 1990, I thought it was state of the art... then again, this song and show were meant for young children.
I remember this when it was in it's first run here in Canada when we got cable TV in my town in 1985 - we got ITV from Edmonton, and that was my first taste of a lot wider selection of Children's Programming besides the good ol' CBC. I'm attempting to try and contact the company who did the localization in Montreal to see if the tapes are in their archives. due to the fact that they are 30 years old and are a derivative work and other circumstance, i believe they are Public Domain, and should be released for us Canadian Astroboy Fans
There's that, the Canadian version is different from the English version heard down here or in Australia.
this show really isn't for young children
1990 en México 6 de la mañana 😮😮
Wow, i remember seeing this when I was like 2 years old... damn thanks for this... nostalgia to the fullest
Yep this is the song I been looking for. Brings me old memories back in 1989.
I used to watch this cartoon when I was a kid. These credits def bring back some wild memories...lol.
I didn't even know 1980's Astro Boy was a thing until a few weeks back. Me and my bro watched a few episodes and already the intro and closing give me feels.
Douglas Gordon did you complete it?
The 1980s version is far darker then the 2003 version and also has better music. The 2003 version though looks a lot better obviously, has better voice acting (for the most part) and has more Dr Tenma. Both versions though have weird name changes like in the 1980s Dr Tenma is named Dr Boyton and Pluto is named Bruton while the 2003 version has Zoran instead of Uran and Dr O’Shea instead of Dr Elefun (personally I like O’Shea as a name over Elefun).
Douglas Gordon same I’m 12 I love the anime I have for of the manga’s and a DVD of a few episodes
@@peerless77 There was gonna be a colorized version of the 60s Astro Boy that was gonna be redubbed in the early 90s, but it never happened.

I need someone to put this on spotify or something because this is like heart crushing for me that it’s not :/
Dat guitar riff at the end!
Always makes me feel sad for some reason.
You can really feel the 80s
this is my jam
I actually found the actual lyrics to this song. However it may not sound like it at first because lets keep it real it was dub in the 1980's and if you think anime sounds like shit when it is dubbed go watch a anime series that was dub back in that time period I mean the characters voices and lines didn't even match with there lips.
"Come and join us in our melody
A song of happiness for you and me
Dream of joys, sing about a boy
Name of hero Astro Boy.
Come and join us in our fantasy
We can all be heroes you and me
Dream of joys, sing about a boy
Name of hero Astro Boy.
Trying not to wait so long
So tune in for a fight for life
Strong as steel and with a heart of gold
Dream of love and all your heartfelt voices will be heard
Sharing dreams and bringing joy for all".
+Shinkansen Hype Hi I've got the lyrics in the video details. BTW I think it is "Little hero, AstroBoy!" not "Name of hero Astro Boy." etc
+zephyr103 I was well aware this entire time but there is numerous resources that say otherwise because of how muffled the lyrics sound. Plus if you listen to this ending theme in the Canadian version which is that same but sounds less muffled. it well pretty much say that. And also if you at least listen to the very end of Toe Hider version it will at least say " sharing dreams and bringing joy for all'. Here is another example clarifying this to astro-mightyatom.org/html/characterprofiles.html and astro-mightyatom.org/html/characterprofiles.html Plus sites.google.com/site/astroboysworldcom/theme-song-lyrics.
+Shinkansen Hype It seems quite clear to me that it is saying "Little hero Astro boy". Those links are wrong. It isn't saying "name of hero Astroy Boy"
zephyr103 One more prof is that all the people who have the english DVD 1980 series of it say the lyrics come with each copy as well as the opening theme lyrics come with it to.
+Shinkansen Hype The voices in the song are saying "little hero astro boy". If the lyrics included with the DVD are saying "name of hero astro boy" then they are different to the actual song and it has bad grammar.
The old days of watching this and Tales of the Wizard of Oz in the mornings
Saw Astro Boy and Battle of the Planets in the early 1980s. ❤❤❤
Disco!
It's funny; the lyrics are a little cheesy by today's standard's, but I always get a super nostalgic feel out of watching this. I think part of why I like the end credits regardless is because I like the anime itself.
Holy fuck I haven't seen this show since the early 80's
I hear ya! Me too!
The Fairly Oddparents
if one day i have a son im gonna name him Astroboy
demonherz Why not Atom? Thats his Japanese name and it sounds a little more like a real name
If you'll have a second son, name him Atlas and watch them fighting each other.
idk i think tobio would be a more fitting name
Oml yes
Better is JUST Astro
kudos who made astro boy
Astro boy is so cute

この「鉄腕アトム(1980)」は日本テレビで放送されていましたが、その英語版が有ったのは知らなかったでした。
Astro boy needs to be back! I wan,t him look like the one from 1980!
Ahhh, so many memories. It seemed this was on TV forever here in Australia, on one channel or another. Pretty much my entire childhood it was on somewhere, even though by then even the English dub was a bit dated.
This is lame, but fist thing I notice watching these credits is that there's no American company credited for the English version! Probably nobody in the States wanted it, but the production company saw export potential anyway and did it themselves. Bless. Probably why it's so good.
The last episode I remember seeing was when Atlas got teleported away or something, and the episode ended on Astro just floating in space crying, then I got THIS ending theme. xP
GOT DYAMN that brings me bacc!
the sea bed monster episode was my favourite
It was made in the early 80's, that's why. :D
I think it's "He's BRINGING out his love for all" not raining. But its hard to tell.
When disco was still used commonly for Anime's, at the height of futurism also
Odd that cast are in alphabetical order, so Patricia Kugler Whitley, the voice of Astro, is the third last name. I guess that's how cast lists for dubs worked back then. IDK.
cool
You all remember this playing right after part one of "The World's Strongest Robot?" Cause little me sure did.
I wish I could be astro boy but I'm not pure enough. I will never be able to reach peace
I love the awful english version with grandmother from the 1985 disney church group singing
Astro boy
I find it funny that, ironically, the style of lyrics between the original Japanese and the dubbed English versions are switched.
The Japanese lyrics talk about Astro's/Atom's powers (flying, lasers, etc.), while the English lyrics are more flowery and poetic. XD Normally, it's the other way around!
0:49 why hello there.

What's the name of the Japanese version? I've been trying to find the full song but coming up empty... I know it exists on RUclips.
