  • Howard D. McCurdy was a Canadian who achieved so much in life that he had to write it all down. He was a microbiologist, a human rights activist, a politician, a husband, a father, and someone who has been awarded the Order of Canada and Order of Ontario. Sadly, before he could complete his autobiography, he passed away. Poet George Elliott Clarke, McCurdy's friend and editor of the autobiography, took on the task to complete it and have it published. Clarke offers a glimpse into McCurdy's extraordinary achievements by recalling the stories shared in "Black Activist, Black Scientist, Black Icon: The Autobiography of Dr. Howard D. McCurdy."
