I've seen the BAR-KAYS live several times. Starting in 1979. I'm a huge fan. At 60 years old I can still rock with them youngsters. Being a drummer myself, hats off to that brother!!! He funky as a mutha****er!!🥁🎵🎶
My beautiful group Legendary Barkays ho yeahhhhhhhhh we love you for ever and ever .....you are fantastic and so funkyyyyyyyyy.....thank you for all you gived to the world.........God bless all of yoursssssssssss
I saw the Bar Kays in the early 70's at the Ga Tech Coliseum, they had a large cooler sitting in front of the stage. The lead singer opened up the cooler and pulled out a big ass Boa Constrictor. That was a good Colombian weed smoking concert. PEACE ✌🏾
I'm glad to see the camera person is keeping it on the band conductor. The drummer! They both have a stick in hand keeping the musicians in time. As a kid and to this day, you never get a good long footage of the drummer. Most you see is the lead singer and the lead guitarist. Drums are a visual instrument. How is a kid to learn? But I did. Thanks for the video clip!
💫✨ Hinton Lee, Check it : If the band is the ‘building’ 🏢 then the drummer 🥁 most definitely is the foundation - holdin’ it ALL down, ⚓️ you know!?! 🤙😁 💫✨
Does anybody remember the Funkfest in Chicago at Soldiers Field with Parliament,Funkadelics, Confunkshun, Taste of Honey and the Bar-Kays drummer made the drums catch on fire then beat the fire out.
Yes, I was there. The late 70's, It was my very first concert. Over 80,000 people in attendance, so overwhelming. The drummer was Michael Beard. He and the Bar-Kays went on to headlining their own shows, where Michael would have at least a ten minute solo. 45+ years later and I still haven't seen anything that could compete with that level of performance. Thanks for sharing the memories.
You can say that again I love the Bar-kays BUT the new lead singer just don't have that bite and growl in his voice..Bar-kays songs now days live don't have that Barkays sound. The Ohio Players could NEVER find a Sugarfoot sounding lead singer either. I guess some lead singers are one of a kind and can't be replaced BUT not to worry I have ALL of the Barkays and Ohio Players cds. BTW Steve Arrington is another example..one of a kind singing style. Keith Sweat bit offa Steve Arrington HELLO! Somebody.🔥👍💯😎
@@beverlycornish2583 Thanks Beverly gotta say again the drummer is so on point.. I just love watching this kat work his magic.🔥 this is one of the best videos from a drummers angle.🔥👍💯😎
Another one of those I grew up listening to along with the Ohio players cameo, confunksion, parliament, funkadelic, brass construction, lakeside, slave and on and on
I agree the drummer was on point but lets be real this was a lousily shot video that basically showcased how good the drummer is, even the sound wasn't good from this point of view.Just keeping it real.I thought we were going the see the Bar-Kays as a whole up close and personal.
Im a a big bar/kays and i could have sworn that is mike beard, just gained some weight, back their hitting them funky drums like that who ever they definitely have the barkays set on lock.
Yeah the cameras should be in the front what the hell they doing this is not supposed to be like this the Kim on the drama whoever shot this you are crazy
I love the Bar-Kays-but they didn't play any of their real hits-and they didn't show any of the faces of the singers or any of the other band members. I remember Michael Beard(original drummer); don't recognize the new cat on drums though...2-8-23.
@@1994cargo Not late at all-my knowledge of the Bar-Kays goes back to the 1960s, but for the record I was talking about the FACT that they did not play all of their seventies or even 80s hits on this video! 11-20-24.

Being the younger brother of a drummer this video verifies the craftmanship it takes to be the driving force of funky music.
I love a man who can play drums, and do it well.this man is it!!!❤❤❤

The band and vocals were tight.
