I would be proud and honoured to play just one track with these incredible people. The Brothers Johnson will always be the coolest guys on the planet. R.I.P. Louis everyone loved you Man x
George & Louis weren't connecting well with the audience there in Oakland that day. I wasn't there. I would have been all up in there. It was disappointing to see their lack of connection, but the music has nothing to do with it.
RIP Louis Johnson...the baddest as well as the best bass player around. Louis was also a great educator to other musicians that followed him. Fly with the Angels and may God bless you always!
I'm extremely lucky to have met both George and Louis and their families in the late 70's while I was in college. They sat down and ate lunch with me in a mall. They both were very nice to me. What an experience! I was very sad to hear of Louis's passing.

Real Music by Real Musicians! It was because of Louis Johnson (r.i.p.) that I started playing the Bass. I was so blessed to have gotten the chance to meet my musical heros. An experience of a lifetime. 😀
Where are bands like this today?!? They still sound tight...miss the bands of the 70's and 80's...no one plays funk in a band anymore. George at 9:57 - wow! And Louis still rocks that bass!
One of the many facests of Funk!! The Brothers Johnson forever!! One of if not the baddest bass player on the planet Louis "Thunder Thumbs"Johnson !!!!!!!
If I could I'd give this one a double like. Those are some plucking brothers. I love everything theyve put out. I wish they'd play at the Cincinnatti Jazz Festival. They are definite crowd pleasers.
I saw the Brothers Johnson in concert when they were in their heyday, and seeing this REALLY makes me appreciate and miss Louis Johnson even more. His playing style was like none other and was a concert onto itself!
Also from the UK and have loved them since back in the day. I have fond memories of persuading our school music teacher to take a road trip to what we described as a jazz concert. In fact it was Steve Hillage and the supporting act was the BJ! My cunning plan worked perfectly but the teacher was pissed, although ultimately he enjoyed the gig and I am fortunate to have those memories to this day. Can't beat the fonk!
Saddened to awake and find that you've left us Mr. Louis Johnson; may you rest in eternal peace. Thank you to the Brothers Johnson, who provided the early soundtrack to my life.
I just want to say am 56 right now the first album I bought was the brothers Johnson strawberry letter...I will never for get it...I love you guy...and thank you...

My very first concert when I was 15; Brothers Johnson opened for Chaka Khan and Rufus. Damn what an indoctrination to live shows. Over 100 live shows later and I still remember that one! Louis played the hell out if that Bass! My older brother and I met Chaka after the show right before she got in her limo. Friendly and fine as you know what! Yeah, I remember my first! Lol
I'VE BEEN A LOYAL FAN OF THIS GROUP SINCE 1978, that's when I first discovered them and I was just a kid then. Glad to see the brothers Louis and George together.for good.. BEAUTIFUL.

I was so hurt to learn that Louis past. He is one of my inspirations on bass. Just an amazing bassist. I remember seeing him just praise the most high after he took a smoking solo. That really impressed me. So many people think that their gifts come from themselves. But he gave the most high the Glory. RIP
love the Brothers Johnson ... was young when they came on the scene and my mother had their first album. And Louis my reason for loving the thumping bass and wanting to learn how to play.
not too sure what year was this but couldnt have been much long after that Louis died...I grew up with these guys in my ear just abt every day...its as if they were part of my family...was sad for awhile after I had heard he had passed. RIP Louis BADASS Bass player. Keep it all alive George.
Let’s give Lightin’ Licks George Johnson his flowers. He’s a bad boy on that lead and with the funk vocals. Louis always gets the praise and rightfully so, but we can’t leave out George. Meanwhile “Get The Funk Outta My Face” will always be a favorite of mine.
