Unfortunately custom roms are built only for specific phone models of select brands. So most of us who has a low end phone needs a well optimized rom won't be able to install it. And trying with an unsupported rom will definitely brick the phone. I know cause I tried with my Samsung Galaxy J7, didn't go that well. Now I'm on Oppo A15 which is an extremely laggy phone and I want to get a custom rom (something lightweight) to make it a bit better but it seems it's not possible.
