Taking care of typical children is hard enough! She’s remarkably patient, loving, and supportive and is dealing with their unique challenges in a beautiful way. I’m so impressed and I wish the whole family the best.

I’ve seen her documentary when the boys are quite a bit older, 19 to 21 and aging out of educational services, and it is remarkable how much Kim aged in those years. She’s still feisty and absolutely devoted to her boys, but she looked tired and resigned. She didn’t have a safety net or respite care. She didn’t have a lot of optimism for the future; it was always just going to be her caring for her boys until the day she dies. She was obviously worried about the future, but didn’t think she had options. I’ve always liked her and hope she and her boys are happy and well.

I can relate to that. I also have three autistic kids, and I know at least two of them will most likely need to live with me forever. If something ever happens to me and my husband...their big sister will "inherit" them. She has two kids with autism herself, so she would be a great backup caregiver for her younger siblings, if it ever came to that.

I also have three autistic kids. Only my oldest did not have enough difficulties with her autistic traits, to actually be diagnosed as autistic. So my three younger kids...two girls and my baby boy...all have varying levels of autism/adhd. The girls both have IEPs in school, and my baby boy is homeschooled because the school couldn't handle his speech disorders and behaviors (he would just leave the classroom and wander off when he got bored! 😂) But he's also super smart, and skipped two grades, because he taught himself to read at a 3rd grade level by the time he was 4 years old. Autism has it's gifts, and it's challenges...but I love my kifs exactly as they are, and I wouldn't change them for the world. I believe that special needs make these kids even more lovable, and the love they give you in return is beautiful. ❤️
My autistic kids are still relatively young...16, 14, and 11 years old...but I would LOVE to meet this superhero mom! We need to be friends!

I’m autistic too and what I’m hearing from your comment is we don’t deserve to live. I think you should think twice before saying things like that. We’re not broken or ‘wrong’, our brains just work differently. I think even if she’d known she’d still have had her kids, because she’s a good person. People who believe only certain people deserve to exist definitely shouldn’t have kids though.
