My only thing would be to put a 360 slip ring- I think? On the end. So the light can be spun 360 degrees, and still function. So if ya need to angle it upward mainly.

Well, I don't know about this one. Considering the led technology constantly evolving and with good brands adapting it new products buying a battery powered light is probably much more meaningful.
This project might make sense only if you do it just for fun or to use the batteries uou already own.

Until you realize that dewalt sells lights for 20$ for the new batteries they actually support and the adapter for the old tools

Until you realize he already built that battery himself, not a dewalt battery just the dewalt shape. AND it fits those old dewalt batteries that won't put out enough power to run a drill or saw, but runs a light just fine.
Go buy your new light if you need. He made something to be proud of.
