I think they really need to add multiplayer to the overworld to where there are multiple of you trying/competing to catch the illuvials that would make it way more fun..
I’m in the game less now because after the change to see higher ranked Illuvials in the run, I had to go out and buy resplendent shards which were pretty expensive considering many times you need more than 1. It ate up my budget. Previously I was doing Stage 1 runs using Common/Uncommon/Rare shards. Cost was pretty reasonable. But if you see a Tier 5 on that run, you have to go for it, I’ve caught 2 Tier 5 now but it cost me 5 shards. Probably was better off buying in the market but that takes all of the fun out of it.
I think it needs a way to use the ILV token in game like buying shards instead of farming them. I used to play a game that was similar, you caught monsters in the wild, battled other players and other npc monsters but you had to buy like healing potions, power ups, chainlinks to catch them etc. It had great prospects but the devs went a totally different way with it after launch and it failed
15:05 You can do that right now in Fortnite. Buy a skin in the shop, use it in Battle Royale mode, Music Band mode, Racing mode, or the Lego mode. I mean, it's not like it's anything new (besides the blockchain thing).
I think your point is wrong, because in fortnite for example you can buy but if you ever stop playing that money is lost, but in Illuvium you can invest in buying something but it is your wallet and you can sell it, you can even capture it in game and it doesn't make you buy it. They are not comparable, but the idea of illuvium within the blockchain ecosystem is something new.
Tbh the collecting part is not for everyone… I don't have the collecting gene personally, so more into it for the RPG aspects, beautiful worlds and lore.
Hi Scoriox, I remember when the partnership with IMX was a huge advantage because it was providing advanced gaming infrastructure and promotion of Illuvium. Looking at their page now Illuvium is still on the first page but it is not actively promoted by IMX as one of their flagship products. Additionally, I agree that signing up to 10 messages between eth and imx for a single action is very clunky currently. What happened with IMX, did they fall behind ZKEVM. Is there something to be done like negotiating with IMX that Illuvium can leave if IMX doesn't provide explicit support to the technical issues and front page promotion? Is Zkevm something that is nowadays scale times better or just marginally better, we wouldn't want to spend resources if " the grass is always slightly greener" ... That is one surprising point that I picked up from the video and would be interested to explore further, otherwise, gaming details and upgrades looking forward to and glad the team is hiring game design superstars and giving them resources to improve the games! As an investor in Illuvium, I have high hopes for this project. I have not given up, indeed, I see a bright future for this game. I agree with almost all you say, it needs those things you talked about but above all, I am really pleased that people like you Scoriox, are involved and helping to improve the game.

Even after milestones are gone, there are still incentives for people to farm the airdrop using multiple accounts. Why would anyone keep playing on their main account after finishing all daily and weekly missions? There are people with dozens of accounts each among those 8k you say are unique players. Truth is overworld is very boring, zero is ugly and boring, and for the arena games.. well, nobody wants to play auto battlers in 2024. After airdrop is over I doubt there will ever be more than 3k DAU.. probably only deluded bagholders will remain. The airdrop was a big mistake. Why would they spend that much marketing an unfun and unfinished product? nobody will stay. Ravenquest is an example that should be followed by the industry. They made a working web2 game before going web3. Their game has 1000s of hours of content and I mean real content, not repetitive overworld and autobattler stuff. I came for their airdrop but I will stay for the game. Nobody that came for the airdrop will stay for the illuvium games.

I am not sure if using ILV to buy shards is the answer, but I dont mind the idea of incorporating it
