I've been holding 20% of my portfolio in ILV for the past two years and I rode the token price all the way up to $1,500 and all the way down to $30 and now I'm finally in the green again. Long term investment for me!
One thing to note is the 28th is not the launch. Its just another beta build, this is just the first one anyone can try! The full gameplay loop goes into open beta early next year

I think we need to have a crypto economy introduced into a real game that’s all we need. We don’t need games that are okay to earn if we can just be part of the economy. Imagine GTA online but with a token and NFT pink slips and property deeds including businesses. I’d never come back to normal life. Haha. Games where they are free to play but you can spend money to get money and that’s it. The rest you buy with the in game cash. Literally Take 2s model with NFTs added so we can have some investment.

I also like that their income is based on micro transactions like a normal gaming app. Seems like the crypto aspect just allows you to cut the line. But I hadn't bought a token that wasn't available on coinbase before. Since my last comment though I've decided to dip my toes in using uniswap.

I didn’t get $1 million from OHM. I made like $15k if I remember right. I lost money on Time, and Rome. I ended up hitting overall though $1.6 million at the absolute top. Didn’t time it perfect and made some mistakes along the way. But did hold on to about $800k, have since taken that back well above a million during the bear market.
LOL lets be honest , no matter how good the graphics or gameplay the play to "EARN" mechanics is the driving force of Crypto Gaming, like the AXIE , even the gameplay is shit lots of players play it and eventually kicks off the bullmarket.

Even if we consider the possibility, the persistent challenge of dealing with cheaters and bots is real, even major gaming platforms struggle with this. The underlying issue lies here, because even though this is a problem with every game, usually banning the accounts is enough. Here it isn't. Once the transaction is made to the wallet, you can't undo it, this basically takes all the risks of using bots or even cheating because you have nothing to lose. This will trigger hyperinflation within the token and NFT ecosystem, ultimately diminishing their worth to practically nothing. And is even worst in ecosystems with various games, because it just has to happen to one of them, to destroy the entire ecosystem.
@@jesseeckel2 as a developer I have developed over 200 games 8 were hits and around 150-200m people are playing them even thou i have invested in Illuviun long time a go something is off in everything i have seen so far.. You know hype about diablo 4 was huge but 30 days later game had 1000 players from 5 million inital players even with all knowledge they failed. Iluvium looks very strange when I look at it and its far from what gamers want but i be wrong. I have played games for 33 years now so kinda have a feeling :)

To be clear this isn't how ILV tokens work, they're capped but simply vested with unlocks. The tokens accrue 100% of the revenue from the game. I think the tokenomics for ILV are actually pretty good.

Sure but that's how innovation cycles always go. First movers are the ones willing to put out a half baked product fast typically and the sector grows over time. The first crypto tokens besides BTC were horrible. Then slowly we got things that were useful and innovative.
Again if you don't agree after watching the video, then thats fine, but it's worth hearing it out. I personally think there's no way it crypto gaming doesn't take off.

If the asset was obtained due to game hacking or botting, the publisher will be able to blacklist it in the game. Even if you sell it in a nft marketplace, it won't work anymore inside the game. So the whole crypto "your nfts your property" thing doesn't apply here.

What are you even talking about? Lots of the projects I've talked about this cycle are already up 50%, 100%, 200% or more. Every single project I'm talking about I'm planning on holding till the bull run, so haven't sold. Ethereum was where I put 90% of my wealth at the bottom of the market and it's up over 100%. I genuinely am confused by this comment and what you mean. If you're talking about last cycle, again most of the projects I invested into went up a lot! Some as high as 10,000% and anyone watching had an opportunity to get into them and take their profits. Now if you didn't sell before the market crashed, and ran them down all the way to the bottom, then yes you lost a lot of money. However as I say on my channel all the time, don't copy me and do your own research. I'm not anyones financial advisor, and don't want to be. I can't tell you how to manage your investments or even what to buy. I just share what I'm buying, why and the research I'm doing. Most people find that really valuable because it's a great place to learn. I get messages from people all the time that made a fortune on some of those same plays. I myself last cycle personally sold most of those positions at a gain, was public when I sold and anyone else had the opportunity to do the same. If you lost money investing last cycle because you didn't quite know what you were doing, that sucks and I've been there. That's what I did my first cycle in 2017. However the next cycle I came back and made it all back, plus a lot more. I hope you do the same and good luck!
I go back and forth on this. I've been thinking there was no way we'd see a soft landing, then it appears we do. However the fact that everyone is now saying no recession makes me nervous. Honestly gotta play it as if there will be, and I still feel pretty confident with crypto overall 2024-2025

I think as more quality games come out you'll have less scams. The scams are usually low effort low quality games
