So yeah, the live stream was set to private, I shall commment here instead! :D Content that is popular right now: - Blender tutorials - start to finish asset courses Content that we are severely lacking on youtube: - rigging tutorials - real-time hair tutorials - simulation guides (fluids/cloth) - shapekeys for characters - animation - how much money should you charge as a freelancer (there might be some videos, but they all differ) Other notes: - new artists rarely reach for Maya first, as it's not as accessible as Blender. Older artists obviously have no need for tutorials which is why Maya tutorials have less views. - people generally click on tutorials if the end result looks like an end product they see in games/films, all textured and rendered. Especially new artists who have no idea how to progress from the highpoly -> textured lowpoly/textured film asset will not watch a tutorial that only shows one of the steps. Purely modeling tutorials aren't really watched anymore. Therefore it would be better to spend more time on a full project rather than post multiple highpoly modeling tutorials. - Having flashy thumbnails with models rendered inside marmoset/any rendering software are way more appealing than in-software screenshots - there are a lot more apiring game artists than purely architectural artists. This is because most of the people are now gamers and so they get inspired by game graphics. Not much you can do about it if you don't want to change your content completely. - good video editing would make your content stand out. Splitting the video into a few sections with nice transitions and diagrams illustrating the solution would result in shorter but more enjoyable videos. Quality>quantity rules on youtube these days. Hope this helps, don't take any of these personally, I just think those things work best on today's youtube.
Hello Mr. Mike i have a question please, while we have multi cut tool and connect tool why you prefer use insert edge loop tool ? and as you know the first both exists in modeling tool kit and above in the modeling shelf but insert edge loop not exists there . Regards
I modeled and textured a shield based off the main character Maple's Shield from the anime Bofuri. I even have it posted on ArtStation. I am curious on how you would approach modeling the shield based on anime depiction of it!
I checked out your shield. The model is fine for a low poly but I would look up low poly modeling tutorials to get a better idea how to further optimize it. If you want to get closer to the anime I'd try painterly style tutorials. There's a few good ones on youtube.
Hi Mike! Thanks so much for all you do! Idk if you take requests but I'm interested in how one would go about modeling a broom in maya. Any help is appreciated!
Hey Mike! Most likely I am wrong but I always liked more non-timelapse videos where I could hear your voice. With timelapse videos if you make a mistake somehow, in the old way, you would've explain things. Thanks why I hate timelapses. But I love your work anyways. Just wanted to raise my opinion.
Nice n creative please also on London UK bride modelling session sir it's much needed and one vintage train model hi Mike sir myself Rony an VFX student from India
can you make the Jurassic Park entrance gate in Maya it is for my school projects... why don't you accept it Mr. herms! i am your fan I have been asking for a long time now!
