@@lacunalshadow See i hear you & at first i agreed that this part should have stayed soft the whole way through bc i loved that about the original. BUT... When the freaking PILLAR MEN appeared i completely understood what the author was thinking. He wanted the Pillar Men to appear in the best part of the song, but they were so hype the laws of nature DEMANDED that that part of the song become hype to accomadate their existence. Which explains why he put it back to being soft after they were gone.

The editing is great- frenzied animation for the louder parts, slower for the softer parts and all the different seasons openings so well blended together that if I didn't know them from the anime, I'd genuinely think they were all one video. Not to mention the awesome singing!

This is absolutely incredible! The production-quality is top-notch, the instrumental and vocals sound straight out of an anime! I absolutely love this! Honestly as I was listening to it I was envisioning it being the opening for an anime where some guy named Bruno who's clairvoyant is the main character, and he was banished to a magical/spiritual dimension and he became an urban legend on Earth, and now he found a way back and he has all these fantastical dark powers.
That would be a wicked awesome anime, actually.

Not sure if it's just the tone of this cover giving the whole song a different feel, but I feel like if that line were applied to an anime it would be more tragic. A main character has their dreams fulfilled...but at the cost of their life being an absolute nightmare. The character awakens their powers but they grow out of control and turn what would've been the best day of their own life into the worst. After that, their dreams are fulfulled in the worst way possible, but trying to do the whole "reverse psychology" thing wouldn't work (meaning what happens next is twice as bad). With their luck, someone else finds out and they are hunted down, but they can't find a way to prove their innocence without looking insane (at best). Any attempt to bring in wealth would bring misery, and most good fortune would be negated almost immediately. Any injuries or failures that would usually be played for laughs in other anime (the "megaton punch" of the tsundere, the "broken bone that heals the next episode") would be done here with realistic consequences. "Deus Ex Machina" would either be inverted *very* quickly or have serious consequences afterwards. A training montage wouldn't work and whole episodes or arcs would have training onscreen. Injuries during battle would act up realistically (complete with infections) and "heroic second wind" wouldn't work. "Instant expert" and similar tropes would be defied. Not stating strategies onscreen to the rest of the group (at times when the MC can have one) would result in things going awry FAST, and very likely end with plans falling apart at the absolute worst time. If it ends up being an action anime, my guess is that the MC's powerset would revolve around damage over time, healing abilities and status effects.
The main theme of the anime would be to try to look on the bright side while being realistic, and that "there's always someone who has it worse" or "suck it up and deal with it" isn't an excuse, while the secondary theme would be an outright defiance of the "the pain/trauma/angst goes away with a pep talk" thing (time doesn't heal all wounds, and in some cases makes it worse, but pain takes time to heal and everyone heals at different rates)
Maybe the title would be "The Luckless Hero"? That or "Support Unit" (still thinking about the title)
