After seeing the adult Miku in the end I could confidently say that she's now the better version of herself. no more headphone and bangs meaning she's more confident and she is her own person now. In fact for me she is the winner of the series although she failed to win the heart of Futaro but she finally learn to love herself fully. I realized that her route is not to be with Futaro but to fully accept herself and love herself fully without Futaro's validation and she has the most beautiful arc in the entire series. With that said I don't think all her efforts were in vain and pointless cause she solved her inner issue and conflicts that very end. Rejection is quite painful and traumatifc but it could also be a catalyst to improve yourself not for someone but yourself alone.
Thats why she getting rejected is good for her character. Miku arc needed to become complete independent opposite of Yotsuba whos goal is to be someone special person. Yotsuba always wanted to prove her mom wrong and that she can be someone special and that she isnt like her sister. Thats why Yotsuba being chosen is a good closing arc for her as a character.
Both of your statements I completely agree with. 👌🏻 I do see why Miku fans were upset with the ending, though. Personally, I was happy with it, but did feel bad for Miku.
idk if miku would have been the best choice tho tbh. she got what she needed out of the relationship. and through her relationship with futaroo, she realized her dream and pursued her dream of cooking. honestly the only one i really felt bad for was nino since she and yotsuba were the only ones without a "dream".

We need an afterward story, the ending left people hanging with no satisfaction. Because the other girls show no sign that they will start a new relationship with any men, they still be around the MC but doesn't look like they are having a polygamy relationship either. So I think that author made a big mistake ending the anime and then leaving a cliff hanger. first thing first I'm also Miku fan🤝 and it's break my heart 💔💔to see miku in the movei, seeing she crying and some of her dialog and scene like ' it's over' also the scene in this video
second is I don't think the ending was all a dream, i think fuutarou just have a flashback about the past
third is I don't think there will be another season, if I'm not wrong I've read a comment said the movei is the end of series and they wrap it all up in the movei😭😭😭
