I can't believe it's been 10 years. I used to to use this music as study music back when I was in school. Now I use it to keep me focused on my chores.
Wow, has it really already been almost 13 years now? I was in high school when this came out... damn. I remember hearing this for the first time back in 2007, it blew my mind. Back then, I barely knew a few of the songs (mostly just the video game ones), but now, I'm familiar with most of them, and even sang along to several from memory. There are still a few I don't know where are from, but hearing it again like this, really drives home how much I've experienced since that first time. I do still listen to it today, mostly while doing yard work. Still, I never really sat back and thought about how long it's been. I have a few memories associated with this medley over the years, too, beyond just the source material of the songs. This medley is an absolute icon, and I'm glad I, and many others, have carried it with us for 13 years, that it's still thought of today and brings back those memories from the late '00s and early '10s that I, and I'm sure many others, have associated with it. I'm glad this showed up in my recommended today, that was a fun trip back. If you read this all the way here, then thanks for indulging this sappy introvert in his late 20s. Wherever you are, I hope you're all having a wonderful day!
Sup, I'm really interested in pre 2010 otaku culture it feels like a era of the internet that will never happen again. Some background on myself if anyone really cares lol, I recently got into all this otaku stuff summer of 2018 at 17 years old I am now 18, 19 In a few weeks I consume everything "otaku" its my only happiness if I'm being honest. I feel like I really missed out on the "golden age" of the internet I feel slightly jealous of everyone who got to experience these amazing times, I am very curious on how it was back then?? I'm not really sure what I want to ask sorry but my curiosity is too much ^_^ This is what I think to myself quite often "In 10 years time will these times right now also be nostalgic to me?" then I disregard it because I will be in my late 20's... grown up? dead? who knows but for right now I'm enjoying myself and that's the main thing right! Thank you so much for posting this past memory I really appreciate this history not getting lost forever
Kamasu Hey there! Absolutely, I’m all about preserving the history and memories, especially about the internet. I’m 28 now, so I definitely know that time. It is absolutely something that will never exist again. What can I say about the internet in the 00s, it was certainly a different time. Anime and other otaku stuff was definitely not as mainstream as it is today, you really had to look back then. But videos from that time like Airman ga Taosenai and Cirno’s Perfect Math Class still hold up. And things were so much more... fragile, I guess? I remember talking to people in chat rooms for hours on end, having a blast, only to never see them again. Like ships passing in the night. (If you’re out there, shyninjakai, thanks for the memories.) Although there were good points, too. It was a simpler time, for sure. None of this “influencer” nonsense that I hate today. Nobody made a living doing RUclips, everyone was just some person who decided to film themselves doing whatever. Old fan sites, oh man old fan sites. If it existed, you could find a fan site for it, usually shoddily made but the heart was there. People ripped sprites from games and made comics with them, that’s a lost art. Anyway, I could go on for hours, but let me know if there’s anything specific you want to know about. And like you said, right now you’re enjoying yourself, that’s what matters. Always glad to share some history though! Stay curious, kid.
Can't believe I'm only just discovering this remix 7 years later. I was completely taken by the original all the way back in 2007, and it's remained some of the strongest subconscious hum material for me over the past 17 years. Seriously crazy stuff, and as amazing of a remix as this is, I still cannot believe how legendary the original was for its time -- it was literally in a league of its own
Kumikyoku got me to watch Bokurano. I only cried at Daiichi’s turn to pilot. That was hard. He just wanted to take his siblings to the amusement park...And when he singlehandedly got Zearth mobile enough to actually dodge and jump, and he fucking used his dying breath to correctly guess who didn’t make the contract...goddamn...
@@bobbycraig7187 There are little touches here and there that make it worth maybe rewatching, IMO. Personally, I just love Zearth's design, and the fact that the baggage associated with it keeps it from showing up in SRW or something kills me. At least Pokémon paid homage to it with Necrozma. Coming back to it, though, I'm left wondering how in the hell Daiichi's opponent's mecha made it anywhere in this multiversal tournament that was going on. It was designed to cause as much damage as possible to the surrounding area, but it was completely useless if its opponent was nimble or stocky. Actually, _a lot_ of those battles went well because the opponent was too specialized and/or Zearth was a jack-of-all-trades.
man, I remember when I was in high school, before I even knew what youtube or nicocico was, I heard one of these medleys as the background music on someone's Flash animation, and spent HOURS looking for where I could buy the CD with these songs.
I was introduced to Nico Nico Douga around 4-5 years ago, but only really started listening to all of its songs in the psat year or so.... and I recognise 80% of these songs, help
5:33 Where did the cool piano go? Marisa Stole the Precious Thing normally has a cool-sounding digital piano here, but this song and the original Kumikyoku don't have it. This also happens at 5:23, but it's OK there because the beat hadn't kicked back in yet.
JunbiHosa If you didn’t know yet, they also skip 2 and 13, this is because the “Final Fantasy Theme” is absent in those games. They only showed the main series games that had it in the game.

Heh, I still know all the lyrics by heart after all these years.
How comforting.
So great and a long time since.
I think the mario version of this song was my introduction to meldys and mashups.
kerrowe same here. Automatic Mario
I remember finding that when I was about 10 and loving it. Didn't think that now at 20 I'd know the songs in it.
And 8:33 brings it full circle by showing that exact video, as it was during the Super Mario World Theme.
