You two are my favourites! I enjoy the subtle sarcasm from both of you!! I would also particularly enjoy watching Ed’s face when presented with his Teddy Bear 🧸 picnic for lunch! 😂😂😂❤
🤣🤣 sadly I used it for a packed lunch for a museum outing with the girls so he missed out xx
Brilliant haul, and don't forget that Pringles and Stacker tube lids fit those little Gu ramekins perfectly. Making them great little storage pots or just stackable pudding pots for the girls (and Ed) in the fridge. 😀
Never knew that. Brilliant tip.
Excellent tip!
Also fit tins pet food x
That’s an amazing tip! I’ll have to buy Ed some Pringles 🤣 xx
You're both just a breath of fresh air...great suprise boxes there...I also love too good to go ...they're hit n miss I know but more hits than misses ...well done xxx
Definitely a hit this one! Xx
I used to put individual yogurt containers in the freezer. Kids loved it when id put the yogurts in their school lunches. it would melt enough to be easy to eat. They would also just eat it frozen at home. It prolonged the life of the yogurt.
That a great tip, yoghurt freezes really well xx
@@mumthingsif you put lolly sticks into them before you freeze them can use them as frozen yogurt lollys in the summer
@@catherinebarlow3079That sounds fun! A nice summer treat!
You did really well with the 2 boxes. Billy Bear! Oh wow I didn't know they still made that! I used to eat that when I was a kid. The Warburton seeded bread is really good.
We were lucky with them! Xx
3.67K followers and 5.2K views is GREAT progress, Claire! Congratulations!
Thank you 😊 I just need to be consistent with the posting! Xx
I live in Kansas in the U.S. & I wish we had "to go" & surprise bags here. Not only for all the good reasons you mentioned at the start of the video but also because it kind of forces you out of your comfort zone & makes you get creative in the kitchen & cook foods you normally wouldn't. To me, getting one would be fun!
I no that some parts of America they have started doing too good to go bags if google it should come up
That’s definitely one of the best things about it. You get so many things you wouldn’t normally buy. It’s great fun! Xx
Ed's shock at the prices of the bread products has me cracking up. Those Naan breads would be over $4 US and your bread loaf is huge and name brand here would be over $3 on sale.
He’s oblivious to food prices! He just throws it in the trolley if he fancies it. I don’t take him shopping often 🤣 xx
If you slip paper towels in the bread and roll packages before you freeze them, they will absorb the moisture. Also open the package up while defrosting.
That’s a great tip, thanks! I will give it a go xx
Put frozen buns into kitchen roll absorbs moisture, and doesn't dry them out.
Loved this video you and Ed are not fake
Keep making more hauls and what we eat in a week 🇬🇧🏴💕
Thank you lovely 😊 we will keep on going! Xx
I did just buy a bag at my local bakery for £ 5,6 with a value of £ 17. However the amount of bread and baked goods (knowing their prices) is nearer £ 23. So very happy with the app. And now I have bread for the next 2 weeks
Brilliant boxes. I thought when you emptied first one that it was 2 boxes in one. So abs wonderful . So pleased for you. 😊
They were super generous boxes. Such a great little shop! Xx
Ha ha love you 2, amazing boxes. Ed's like a kid at Christmas ❤🎉 I love milk roll toasted.
We got really lucky with them! Xx
Wow, that’s good boxes , I love milk rolls when I’m In the UK, the kids will love that bread, perfect kiddie size sandwiches. I used to love billy bear sausage. As my husband calls it factory floor sweepings along with Haslet.
Oh yes, the milk roll went down a storm! And the bear ham was actually really tasty (even if it looks pretty sinister 🤣) xx
I agree. Great boxes! I've seen the bear-shaped sandwich meat on other hauls. First time I've seen it in a to-good-to-go box, though. Lots of good things in there. Definitely worth the price. 🥰🐢💤
It was actually really nice ham! Xx
Fabulous Boxes! Great value. Glad the boxes included the milk for the transition pinch as you increase the milk delivery order.
It was an absolute life saver! I still haven't gotten round to upping the milk delivery.... xx
By desserts tend to be nice. When Ed is annoying you( if he ever does?) Make him a best paste and bear sandwich😂 I love watching your channel. I used to cook often but after the scrappy few years I've lapsed. But you have got me back into cooking again. Might only be a couple of things as mobility issues but I pleased to have my mojo returning! Thanks Claire
Aw I’m so glad you’re enjoying cooking again! It’s tough when you get the food fatigue xx
I'll imagine you'll be getting more boxes from these guys
They sell out really fast but they are brilliant xx
If its buns out the freezer, after defrosting I wrap them in greaseproof paper and put in the air fryer for a few seconds, it usually gets rid of any wet spots.
That’s a good trick! Thanks for sharing xx
Way better than the Heron bag I got when I did a week of Magic (as they were then) bags, mine was out of date stuff, got a refund.
Ah that’s a shame you got a duff one! Maybe time to try again? Xx
Omg I love Billy bear .. its fab
It was surprisingly nice! Xx
Loving the special guest 😊
Just out of interest does the Warburton freeze OK in the wax paper ?
Another fab box 📦 great value for money
Oh! That’s interesting. I had no idea! Sounds a bit grim…xx
I’ve found it freezes really well in the wax paper. Never stays in the freezer too long in this house kind xx
Lovely! Lots of food, and "salad for the tortoise" (and the others). You both are so fun together. Well done! (Numbers are doing well, Claire!)
Thanks 😊 xx
@@mumthingsYour numbers really are doing well. I am so pleased for you!
I love your channel you’re so real and hilarious! ❤and love all the meal and recipe ideas. Take care x
Aw thank you so much! Xx
You did well with your boxes, great stuff.
Its a legal requirement to list mechanically separated meat in ingredients list as its obtained by centrifuging carcasses and bones to strip the meat scraps, meaning the meat fibres are denatured to a sort of sludge, so it cant just be called chicken, pork or whatever as that implies its muscle meat.
Fab haul, Mum used to sell the potted beef in the shop it's nice on a teacake with lurpak butter 😋. I don't need any more bread I have some since Adam was a lad. Take care my lovelies 😘🥰 xxx
Ooh he’ll have to try that! Xx
I buy milk bread when it's on a yellow sticker. Nice bread . Probably for kids i don't mind . Eds about having a heart attack over the prices 😂😂. Take care xx
The girls really enjoyed it 😊 xx
new subscriber! watching this made me hungry so I'm gonna make a quick snack 😂
🤣 welcome! Xx
Good value and when you like some of the food is great.
I think so 😊 and it encourages you to try new things which I like xx
Loved how excited Edd gets over the products missed the lunch outbursts this time 😂
🤣 the secret to a long and happy marriage is mutual joy over food bargains 🤣 xx
Haha mine mutual joy of Star Wars, history , JD and Coke and of course of two daughters. 😂
Ed is way behind the times with food prices 😂😂😂 he is so shocked!!
In saying that I'm getting terrible thinking things are so expensive and refuse to buy much to my hubby's annoyance 😅😅... Great haul and vlog xx😊
🤣 he just doesn’t pay attention to prices so these videos are a bit of an eye opener for him xx
The winner goes to the milk 🙌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
*Really good, really interesting and intriguing heron foods surprise bags recommend watching and subscribing to the channel for more awesome content*
Hotdogs and I see toast with beef spread (heck why not lol)
Xx
Thank you lovely 🥰 that milk was long gone within 12 hours of getting in the house 🤣 xx
@@mumthings I could see that you really needed that- I was hoping for you it was that first coffee hit of the day as well. Videos are a joy to watch as always xx
Hi, I am curious: please tell us, what you are doing with all the burger buns. Just the classic or do you have something we don't really expect? It really seems they are in every box😅
Oh I just use them for Ed’s sandwiches! When we have burgers I’ll cook the whole pack too and wrap up spare burgers in buns for his lunch 😉 we live up North where the ‘is it a bun, a bap, a barm?’ Debate rages in xx
You are both funny 😊
wrap your bread rolls in tin foil keeps them fresh and full lettuce too
Thanks for the tip! Xx
Ooh that round bread is nice enjoy the cheesecake ❤
My brother buys the round Milk Roll bread to put his round processed chicken slices on. He's a big kid ... only just turned 60. 😄
@sue15cat 🙃I do the same I'm 45
No shame in that 🤣 xx
The Warburtons small seeded batch is the best bread ever for toast particularly with banana on top. Strangely, the large version of this bread isn’t so good and it’s neither work well for sandwiches.
How weird! I wonder why they are so different xx
I bet it is good toasted and with Nutella!
@@jonap5740 even better: Nutella and banana !
I asked the manager in our small local Heron Foods why the 2 sized loaves could taste slightly different and he suggested that maybe the smaller batches rose at a different rate. Who knows? It’s delicious and that’s what matters.
Hahah love the facy ed was persistent for a salad 😂
🤣 he’s much better about eating then these days! Xx
Pudding pot lids for bamboo lids for the ramekins.
That’s a good tip! Thanks xx
Most supermarkets sell the bear meat.
Really? I’ve never seen it! Granted it’s not the sort of thing I’d normally look for. If was surprisingly tasty! Xx
I wish too good to go was in my country, almost everything here is shipped in so it’s way more expensive 😩
Hopefully the app will spread! It’s a great way of reducing waste xx
The burger buns are two quid and upwards in Tesco.
Yikes! One day I will pull my finger out and make my own xx
I'd eat all the cheesecakes in one go too,go get em Ed!
I was impressed by his restraint 🤣 xx
If you're on a tight budget a local Heron's is a Godsend, it's a great shop.
It really is! I love the one near us xx
@@mumthings
The off brand Exsell stuff is amazing.
I love your channel find u funny too so bonus there.
Thank you so much! Xx
Ed is such a good sport!
He is 🥰 xx
Love your vlogs ❤
Thank you! Glad you enjoy 😊 xx
wow I hope Ed enjoyed his cheesecakes
He really did! Xx
😀👋
Great timing you 2 lol
Vegan friendly Ed nods like you’ve said a foul obscenity 😂😂😂
🤣 I give the poor guy a lot of flack for that xx
I live in same city that herons frozen foods started it life here in Kingston upon Hull in east Yorkshire the first shop to open was holdreness road in 1978 that's how long business been going but sadly was brought out by b and m g alot of money over 4 years ago still run by same family just don't have say in the day to day running of it now but it's big company there wearhouse based outside Hull now moved to bigger premises for more room also they do alot for charity as well local charity help a lot is Hull for hero's that trying build supported accommodation for ex soldiers and there families here in Hull and some were to get help and support with there life's ather been in the army
That’s so interesting! I love the history. It’s always a bit sad when small companies get bought out by the huge conglomerates I think xx
Another great video, Claire 😍😍xx Just got a bag from our Aldi and it had 3 packs of pork pies in it. They said not suitable for freezing but would you try it? I'm just about 30 mins from Glasgow, 😊😊
Thank you! Well, I wouldn’t be sure commend that people freeze them as I don’t want anyone getting sick on my advice… but I’d probably give it a go myself and pop them in the air fryer if the crust got soggy on defrosting xx
@@mumthingsNo problem at all, 😁😁xx Oooh, I didn't think on that. I will definetly give that a go, 😁😁 Thanks Claire.
