This went from hilarious to heartwarming. Mia constantly being channeled during times of crisis when she’s in a place where time is basically nonexistent would be frustrating if THIS is how it worked. The ending is pretty heartwarming, though a bit surprising to see it was Iris that was the one channeling her. I am now imagining how Morgan would respond to this development and she would NOT be happy about this. Anyways, I now am curious to see how she would respond to all the crazy developments that has happened with Phoenix since she stopped being channeled, or in other words the events of the Apollo Justice trilogy (still find it weird that they called it that when DD infamously put Apollo in a reduced role). It was also nice that Edgeworth, Lana, and Larry were there as well. Wonder how she would interact with Trucy, Apollo, and Athena?

I think they went with Apollo Justice trilogy to make it stand apart from the Phoenix Wright trilogy. And it'd just be weird to call it the Phoenix Wright trilogy 2 when he's only playable for one case in Apollo Justice. In comparison, Apollo is playable in multiple cases throughout every single game. If you don't include DLC cases, Apollo matches Phoenix in case count (poor Athena with her 2 cases as the main attorney and no playable sections in any other cases).
According to Japanese folk lore regarding ghost channeling, which I somehow came to know about during my time there: When ghosts are not being channel by any medium. The ghost become stuck in a "comatose-like" state where they won't feel a thing between each channeling. So each time Mia get channeling. It would like you wake her up after a long sleep.
That's canonically what happens with the dead when they're not channeled in AA, and has been explained in the games too. Good to know it has an existent folklore basis 💪

i remember in soj there was a mention about in khurains religion that when someone is channeled they don't remember what happened in the afterlife so it just feels like this, so they don't actually know if there is an afterlife when being channeled

To be honest, I always took the idea of the Twilight Realm as a retcon, almost like the black psyche-locks, that kind of breaks what was implied in previous cases. I always thought the idea was that Mia was watching over Phoenix from the afterlife, observing and figuring out the cases herself, perhaps even having access to additional information that Phoenix isn't due to being in the afterlife, and pushes between the boundary between life and death when she's needed, either via whoever calls upon her, or via her own will, like in Turnabout Goodbyes. If we take what AA6 established as complete fact through the whole series, though, this is probably accurate. And looks miserable. Poor Mia. :( Imagine Mia seeing Edgeworth and being like "Isn't that that brat that called me a bimbo during my first trial?"
Yeah everything Mia does in the first game breaks like half the spirit channeling lore from JfA onwards, but I can't really complain as the lore seems to have finally settled somewhere xD

Advanced spirit medium's can actually prevent channeled spirits from being out-of-control. So since Mia is supposed to be “top class”, I think she can actually have some power over who's channeling her (accessing their thoughts, memories, etc.).
Ok this was certainly hilarious. Just Mia having to adapt on the fly because it's been literally not even a second since her last channelling to me. And then the wholesome and slightly comedic gut punch of the party at the end, especially with Phoenix having never had the time to tell her about the new hires (whose interaction with her was spearheaded by Athena, who was someone I was very much hoping to see meet Mia, making it hilarious that this is the first instance of such an interaction I see). I haven't had a good laugh like this in a while. XD (And yet I love how sweet the ending is~ Mia getting to just, hang out with the people she knew and loved once again even if only for a short time, even getting to know how much has happened since. It'd be nice to see her getting caught up with everything that happened in Apollo's trilogy; especially learning that Phoenix has a daughter now, which would be a shock for a bit until being told Trucy is adopted. '^^)
Wow, now that we've seen this through Mia's POV, I can see why Godot challenged Phoenix to finish his case against him without Mia's help. They kinda got way too over reliant on her. I figured it was Iris that probably channeled Mia, as that is very sweet of her to do such a thing. I can't imagine Dahlia being too happy about that, but ah well. I couldn't help but notice Dahlia cried at the end. I feel that was done on purpose as she probably wished she was a spirit medium when she was alive and then maybe she wouldn't have gone down the road she did. I do like the name "Twilight Realm" that you came up with. I may borrow that term when it comes to my project. I am curious have you ever thought of having a conversation between Mia and her mother in the twilight realm?

It has been said multiple times that the dead have no passage of time in AA. Mia can be a slight exception as she's often shown to be channeled ready for action, and I tried to slightly show that by depicting that she can swiftly communicate with her channeler right before the channeling (since she herself is a Fey, that is)
@@debastiansebeste i interpreted that as in, its hard for the dead to tell how long has it been since their death, so if Mia is in a void, she wouldnt be able if its been years or days since her last channeling, but the passage of time would still work like normal.

And that is "the dead do not feel the passage of time". Perhaps we can assume that Mia could possibly perhaps break the rules, but that would still be a headcanon ;)

Possibly, though not to a full degree. Even then, we do know that when Maya was kidnapped by Shelly de Killer or when she locked herself inside Hazakura to hide from Dahlia, her only way to explain to Mia what was happening was by writing down the details on a paper for Mia to read. Pretty self explanatory on the fact that Mia can't, actually, understand what's happening while she isn't channeled

Canonically, the dead do not feel the passage of time, as has been confirmed multiple times in the canon. All this got pretty much established from JfA afterwards (cause in the first game Mia caused quite a few plot holes because of getting herself channeled at will lmao)

By the way, I don't know if you take sugestions but if there's a missing scene in the series I'd love to see, it's how Phoenix got the badge-camera from Ema that he'd one day wear in his beanie. honestly this kinda tie nicely to my personal headcannon of aa4: that between the 7yg phoenix would call/meet maya just to channel mia so he could talk about his problems (he almost would never take her advices to heart and actually change, he just wanted to vent) untill one time mia would ask phoenix to stop calling her, not just cause she aint getting peace even in death, but because he was depending emotionally on a dead person. and that doesnt sound healthy anyway great video !! thank you for making it and posting : 3

Love the video! One thing tho... Didn't Mia always know what was happening in the living world? Like what's the case about and how to solve it? My theory would be that she's more of a ghost that can wander through the world in real time and see everything. An inconsistent theory, but idk how else would she do this.
That was a first game thing only. From JfA afterwards it was confirmed that Mia had no idea what was happening when she wasn't channeled (hence why when Maya channeled her for help against Shelly de Killer and later Dahlia, Maya had to write down on a paper exactly what was happening for Mia to know). She isn't all knowing and all seeing (actually she was in the first game and Shu Takumi retconned it later probably because of the infinite plot holes it would cause, to have Mia always watching and being able to see everything to tell Maya and Phoenix)

Maybe it was like this: Maya's call was so distant and weak that it got lost in the emptiness of the Twilight Realm I also really love the idea this channel explores that Iris does actually have spiritual powers, she's just a late bloomer and therefore has to work harder to unlock said power than if she was a prodigy from childhood like her little sister Pearl

Although I've only watched a playthrough of the fan translation of Miles Edgeworth investigation 2 once and played through the fan, translation of miles Edgeworth investigation 2 once and that was like over a year or two ago. I wonder if I should wait until after I played MEI 2 via the upcoming release before rewatching your stuff. Ok this was certainly hilarious. Just Mia having to adapt on the fly because it's been literally not even a second since her last channelling to me. And then the wholesome and slightly comedic gut punch of the party at the end, especially with Phoenix having never had the time to tell her about the new hires (whose interaction with her was spearheaded by Athena, who was someone I was very much hoping to see meet Mia, making it hilarious that this is the first instance of such an interaction I see).
I haven't had a good laugh like this in a while. XD
(And yet I love how sweet the ending is~ Mia getting to just, hang out with the people she knew and loved once again even if only for a short time, even getting to know how much has happened since. It'd be nice to see her getting caught up with everything that happened in Apollo's trilogy; especially learning that Phoenix has a daughter now, which would be a shock for a bit until being told Trucy is adopted. '^^)
Mia would definitely have a similar reaction to Lana hearing the whole hobo, disbarment and Trucy news lmao Glad you enjoyed the vid mate 💪

Wow, now that we've seen this through Mia's POV, I can see why Godot challenged Phoenix to finish his case against him without Mia's help. They kinda got way too over reliant on her. I figured it was Iris that probably channeled Mia, as that is very sweet of her to do such a thing. I can't imagine Dahlia being too happy about that, but ah well. I couldn't help but notice Dahlia cried at the end. I feel that was done on purpose as she probably wished she was a spirit medium when she was alive and then maybe she wouldn't have gone down the road she did. I do like the name "Twilight Realm" that you came up with. I may borrow that term when it comes to my project. I am curious have you ever thought of having a conversation between Mia and her mother in the twilight realm?
I mean, I'm not the one who came up with the term twilight realm xD it's been mentioned in several AA games iirc

It has been said multiple times that the dead have no passage of time in AA. Mia can be a slight exception as she's often shown to be channeled ready for action, and I tried to slightly show that by depicting that she can swiftly communicate with her channeler right before the channeling (since she herself is a Fey, that is)
@@debastiansebeste i interpreted that as in, its hard for the dead to tell how long has it been since their death, so if Mia is in a void, she wouldnt be able if its been years or days since her last channeling, but the passage of time would still work like normal.

@@debastiansebeste i guess, i can think about something less torture-y through, what if she could visualize scenarios or stuff to do? Like, she could think about godot and suddenly he "appears" in front of her, maybe she can visualize entire scenarios for her to move through, like some sort of mind-sandbox world? Idk how to describe it but it feels like itd be a good way for Spirits to keep themselves distracted instead of being tortured from either being channeled every two seconds nor waiting for a long time isolated before being channeled for a while.
@@dylanzlol7293 well normally spirits don't get channeled as often as Mia does, don't forget that :p Most of them get channeled from zero to 1-2 times
Everything past that is, as you said at the start, a what-if, what we do know for sure is the rule the AA games have set. And that is "the dead do not feel the passage of time". Perhaps we can assume that Mia could possibly perhaps break the rules, but that would still be a headcanon ;)
My mind completely forgot about Iris. And love that you fill that plot hole. I take it Dahlia's spirit is constantly haunting her now for what she did. That being said, i WISHED AA7 tackles phoenix and Iris gettig together. He was his actual girlfriend at one point dressed as Dahlia damn it!

Possibly, though not to a full degree. Even then, we do know that when Maya was kidnapped by Shelly de Killer or when she locked herself inside Hazakura to hide from Dahlia, her only way to explain to Mia what was happening was by writing down the details on a paper for Mia to read. Pretty self explanatory on the fact that Mia can't, actually, understand what's happening while she isn't channeled
@@debastiansebestethe paper is because Mia cant see what's going on, so Maya wrote the details on a paper for her to understand the situation. It has nothing to do with Mia only getting to rest 2 nanoseconds before being channeled again.
@@dylanzlol7293 well, that could be justifications fo the "Mia feels the passage of time" headcanon but it still remains a headcanon. Canonically, the dead do not feel the passage of time, as has been confirmed multiple times in the canon. All this got pretty much established from JfA afterwards (cause in the first game Mia caused quite a few plot holes because of getting herself channeled at will lmao)
I always thought of how time passed to be something like this, honestly it's a bit funny but it makes sense too, considering that she won't even know how long it's passed. I'd like to think of it as waking up. Love the video as always!!

Funny thing is, now that you mention it, originally there was supposed to be a scene in Lana Skye's Parole (somewhere in Part 4) where Ema is shown to give Phoenix her logo badge, but ultimately it got deleted as I found no space or relevant scene to put it in 😅

honestly this kinda tie nicely to my personal headcannon of aa4: that between the 7yg phoenix would call/meet maya just to channel mia so he could talk about his problems (he almost would never take her advices to heart and actually change, he just wanted to vent) untill one time mia would ask phoenix to stop calling her, not just cause she aint getting peace even in death, but because he was depending emotionally on a dead person. and that doesnt sound healthy

Didn't Mia always know what was happening in the living world? Like what's the case about and how to solve it?
My theory would be that she's more of a ghost that can wander through the world in real time and see everything. An inconsistent theory, but idk how else would she do this.
That was a first game thing only. From JfA afterwards it was confirmed that Mia had no idea what was happening when she wasn't channeled (hence why when Maya channeled her for help against Shelly de Killer and later Dahlia, Maya had to write down on a paper exactly what was happening for Mia to know). She isn't all knowing and all seeing (actually she was in the first game and Shu Takumi retconned it later probably because of the infinite plot holes it would cause, to have Mia always watching and being able to see everything to tell Maya and Phoenix)

I wonder if anything was happening in Mia's POV when Maya attempted and failed to channel her in Turnabout Goodbyes due to her lack of training. Maybe it was like this: Maya's call was so distant and weak that it got lost in the emptiness of the Twilight Realm
I also really love the idea this channel explores that Iris does actually have spiritual powers, she's just a late bloomer and therefore has to work harder to unlock said power than if she was a prodigy from childhood like her little sister Pearl

That's assuming that Maya and Pearl CAN say something to her before her channeling. Otherwise, there's a chance that Mia just blinks and finds herself in a new situation. Frankly, the woman did well if she was able to analyze the situation so quickly and take appropriate action.
Given how ready Mia always was (and since she always seemed to know things there was no way she could know in tyhe first game) I took the liberty of assuming that she could form a very short connection with her host each time she got channeled xD

a question that was never answered was why Mia Fey, in addition to wanting to be a lawyer, why did she leave Kurain Village: very obvious answer besides Morgan Fey, Mia Fey's power was too weak despite her having a spirit strong enough to possess Maya.
@@Miranha-SupremoV17 wrong, Maya has said thay Mia's power was VERY strong, and the proof is Mia herself has written in her notes that she found the evidence she needed against Redd White by "holding seances of the dead" with his victims, so Mia not being a strong spirit medium is out of the question :p The reason she left Kurain was simply because she had to go to the big city to study and get a job as an attorney

I always think the Phoenix trilogy(Ace Attorney~Trials and Tribulations)is the path to Phoenix's independent from Mia.
Stil miss her in latter series though.
Mia started off as Phoenix's mentor but by T&T her character had become so much more it truly is a shame she was never mentioned again
