- A wonderful evening flight with friends. Just the hum of the Lycoming O-540 engine and an incredible 4K outside view of the Gulf Coast between 1000' and 3500' altitude.

It was great to see my little town in your video. During the late 60’s and early 70’s, I called Fort Walton Beach my home. In 1974, I enlisted into the Navy and after training, I was stationed in Jacksonville. If I didn’t make the Navy a career, I probably would have moved back to FWB. But did make the Navy a career and started a family in Jacksonville. Thanks again for giving this old sailor a glimpse of his old hometown. Now please take the video down because anyone who sees this Emerald Coast will want to move here! Just kidding…. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks - the “ship has sailed” as they on people moving to the Emerald Coast
Followed along with Google Maps satellite view, zoomed in on places I want to go, good way to plan a trip, thank you so much for this fine video.
Glad it was helpful!
Pensacola is only 45 minutes away from Destin and there isn't much in-between the 2. You won't be doing a whole lot down that stretch, unless you are looking for a Dollar General lol
Thanks for the video. I spent my USAF years at Hurlburt Field and this stretch of coast is my fav place on earth. Take care.
Glad you enjoyed it
I recently met a 53 guy who spent many years at Hurlburt Field. I spent some time in the Navy 53 community so we had fun talking about the big iron.
That was great, thank you very much for sharing. I've lived here for 32 years and never had such a 'view' to see.
Hopefully you’ll get a chance some day.
Where do you live? She is flying from Pensacola to Destin. Do you just live on the coast or something?
Thank you for that very nostalgic journey. This flight is remarkable. From when I was a playing pop guns in the early seventies in Ft Pickens. To the " leave nothing but footprints" ideas as I grew up. My Granpa flying up me from Ferguson in his Mooney. Yep I know this field whent it was grass.
Years later. During High school years, the foolishness we carried out past, what is now Portofino, was just plain drinking and girls.
This video brings back many memories. Some fond, some very harsh.
I served in both the Destin Fire Control District and Escambia County Fire Rescue, station 13 is a remarkable remeberace of years served. And Sation 10 on Crystal Breach Rd, Destin, what could have been. Hurricanes of the 90s and 20s and continued calls for help. For urgent and emergent water rescues are shown on this video, pinpoints of each need for help. Fires and medical calls. "Waypoints" I want to forget in some, but few. But in most circumstances I'm grateful I can remember.
Your flight reminded me all of these thoughts. Too many until I saw this.
Thank you.
Glad it stirred so many memories !
Stunning up high ! I love my town. Great job and fantastic footage.
Thanks a lot!
The way your plane’s shadow comes in landing at Destin airport really cool!
It does make cool shadows with the camera under the wing
We own a unit at Destin Seafarer and 1 at Destin Beach club. You can see them both when you took off leaving Destin. Thanks for Sharing! 25:29 mark
Very cool!
Beautiful. I fly from KCEW. Took a flight down to the harbor on the 4th of July to see the fireworks. Gorgeous night.
That would be fun to do
Thank you for the ride. I was trying to see my family place in Miramar. I am in Oklahoma .
I didn’t get that far east on this one. I hope to do a flight to Panama City soon
It might be in this video Emerald Coast Aerial video - Apalachicola to Pensacola via Tyndall, Panama City and Destin (KAAF) 4K

She didn't fly to Mirimar.
Spent many years in Crestview and my ex worked at duke field and hurlburt field…..Love this area
We do too!
This ain't Crestview
You flew right over my house. I'm in Destin.
Nice
I had a Cessna 150 at Ferguson till 2006. I didn't know you could fly that way because of the base to the south. Another good flight is to Dauphin Island.
The base is closed on weekends which closes the airspace. I always check with Pensacola approach first though. Love trips to Dauphin Island - very fun airport
@@planeplaces The one time I went to Destin was from Milton Peter Prince Airport. We flew to the east and had to go through a corridor to the Beach then to Destin with permission. Great memories.
@@dk4622 yes there is a north south corridor that is used with atc clearance between crestview and Destin
Thanks for a fantastic flyover of Destin! Sure brought back lots of memories of my work at Eglin AFB back in the early 90s during the Gulf war. Spent most of my evenings at Sammy's and at Fishhead clubs, and fishing on the Okaloosa Island pier. Good times for sure!
I came to Florida in the early 2000s to work at Eglin
Sammys 🤣 🤦♂️
Thank you for this awesome experience! Feels like I'm flying around like Superman 😎
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love it!! I turned down volume and watched to soundtrack of Sister Cheryl. What a nice ride!
Awesome! Thank you!
Pretty darn cool. Watched a portion and can't wait to watch the rest.
Thanks
I once lived in Fort Walton Beach, so this flight brings back memories. Tagging the locations with captions would help viewers.
Thanks good idea
Very nice, we live just off of Cessna Dr. Two streets East from Ferguson, with the Solar farm in the backyard. Thanks for sharing.
Your welcome!
It took you less time to get to destine then it took us to drive to the groceries store from fort Pickens lol
170mph and no traffic lights does make for a quick trip!
I live pretty close to the departure airport, and work in aviation in the area. Really cool video, thanks for posting!
Thanks for watching!
WOW THE HAZE!!!!
This is about as clear as it gets along the coast
thank you this was pretty sweet
reminds me of my days flying
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome video, really enjoyed it! I live in Destin, west of the airport, and I ALMOST saw my house, a bit too buried in the trees, lol.
Fun!
Beautiful view great idea for a RUclips channel
Thank you very much!
Where in Pensacola is the strip that you flew out from? Just curious. I've lived all over that area, from Pensacola all the way to Panama City. Thanks for the vid!
It's West Pensacola on a line from near Blue Angle Parkway and Hwy 98 to Gulf Beach Highway at Southwind Marina just west of the public gate to the Naval Air Station
Thank you for the beautiful flight. What altitude were you flying at?
Most of it between 2000 and 3000’ above ground.
@@planeplaces thank you. Have a Wonderful day
Thats Ferguson you took off from right
Yes, it was renamed Roscoe Field a few years ago.
Where did you take off from? I live in Miramar beach
82J on the west side of Pensacola
where did you take off from? I flew some of this same area in a B-17 last year. Some vids are in my profile.
82J
Is this video flipped, I was expecting a right hand turn from Pen to Destin?
Not flipped, took off southbound so a left turn to the east over the beach to head to destin the landed to the southeast at Destin so a right turn back to Pensacola
Shows you how much land the federal government owns
They do own pretty much the entire beach from Pensacola Beach to the east edge of Okaloosa Island at Destin Pass between the Gulf Islands National Seashore and Eglin Air Force Base.
How nice of you to make this wonderful video! Just great
Thank you very much!
just a great break from all the youtubers who want everything smacked in your face. Just great! Thank you again!
My pleasure!
