I think there are some really important lessons here - about how bringing on youngsters is a slow process, and not a straight line of progression, things do go wrong, but they all go incredibly right! To stick at it. I loved how you smiled when he reared in that showing class. You didn’t get angry or upset. He’s a baby and that’s what happens. It must have been so hard to let him go, but hopefully you learnt that after loving Dan so much, it is possible to love another just as much. There will be many more wonderful horses and ponies in your future Gracie, and you can be happy you have given Johnny the very best start and foundation for his.
Think about it this way You taught Johnny everything he knows and I don’t know exactly who this horse may be but think about the horse that taught you everything and gave you a huge leap in your riding journey that is what Johnny is going to go for someone else you should be incredibly proud of what you have done for not only Johnny but who ever he will go on to teach in the future and you are amazing for that Johnny will never forget and he knows that you won’t either I hope he gives his new owner the world just like you gave him
your a great person I know how it feels in different situations like not my horse but I loved him so much the day I saw his eyes and I thought to my self that the time he had left in his life i new the right thing to do but he died it was like taking my heart away from me I thought it was over but I had to move on in life so from this day on I still ride and it’s not easy trust me it was 21 dec all most Christmas it was the worst Christmas ever knowing he was gone forever and I wasn’t there to say goodbye I hated myself so much but the day he was gone my dad whent out to get a toy horse that looks just like him I love him so much.

I go to a stable where you rescue horses and there was a horse who was arabian and she was the love of my life she had changed my life so much and i could not imagine life without her.. one day i heard she was for sale then i started to save up. Though the chores i did i would only get 50 cents the highest for any chore then this one week i was making tiktoks with her ofc and cleaned her stall then left without saying ye because i was in a rush but little did i know this one week would change my life.. one week i got invited to a sleep over at one of my friends house who also liked horses so i did not go to the stables that week but i deeply regret going there.. maybe 3 days later my friend had a lesson and she was going to be brushing and washing the horse but she told me she was not there and i asked if she was in the pasture and she said she did not look and the next week i went there and.. she was gone. I was never so heart broken ever before this this makes me tear up thinking about that one special horse and your story a and i wish both horses the best on there adventure
