Oh my god, my heart SOARED when you played the title screen music. I was introduced to Sonic through the original Genesis games, but I did get this collection later when I was a teen, and HOLY CRAP, that MUSIC! As soon as you posted this video, I happened to see it and I clicked so fast because I knew it had to be this game. That title music immediately played in my head. Lol But actually hearing it brought a flood of nostalgia. I still have it (and my PS2 that I got it on) sitting right below my tv in my stand.😊 Never did figure out how to unlock anything else… but I’d like to one day! Maybe this will give me the motivation. I don’t like to spoil things for myself so I never looked it up. Haha
I also really loved the music for when you’re looking through the gallery and reading the comics. Man… so, so good. Also, I was an avid Sonic Underground watcher as a kid, so… take that however you will. Lol

I grew up in the 90's with the original games and they were some of my all time favorites! Later on I had a gamecube and, of course, I got this collection eventually and not only was it a way to still play some of my favorite games of all time but some new ones and a ton of extras that made it the best collection ever in my opinion. The menu music will stick with me for the rest of my life
Ah yes, Sonic Mega Collection Plus, this is my origin into the series. Playing the PS2 collection made me a lifelong fan from childhood up to now. I didn’t have a GameCube so I didn’t have the original Mega Collection, but Mega Collection Plus was truly a moment in time for me and his younger sister to bond since we played a LOT of Sonic as kids. 😂😂
Man I remember just reading the firsts issue on my ps2 as a kid loving the artwork for the covers and I bought the issue recently too. God I love the artwork for the Archie covers!
This. Mega collection. Sonic Riders. These were sick. I would stay up all night playing Mega Collection. GOD that title music. I remember playing bean machine, not knowing wtf I was doing, then spending hours just looking at all the comics and art in the extras. Down in the garage on this CRT big enough for me to live inside. Also, Sunshine and Twilight princess raised me on that cube of games. This has caused irreversible damage to my brain.
Every videogame compilation should have a Gallery theme with a song as beautiful as the one Mega collections gallery has. The only one i can think of that comes close is the one from the recent Marvel vs Capcom collection. Just a song that radiates the feeling of "nostalgia"
I was a Nintendo and PlayStation kid since we had both brands of consoles and each generation of releases, and are still like that now with both the Switch and soon a PS5 (to replace our recently broken PS4). For me my introduction to Sonic was Mega Collection Plus, and it's definitely a major part of my childhood. Though after our first PS3 died and was replaced with the non backwards compatible PS3 Super Slim, my choice of collection would later become Classic Collection, sadly having to leave behind all the game that weren't 1/2/3K, as well as the mobile ports which introduced me to CD. Even with all the collections and rereleases since then, Mega Collection Plus is by far the best of them, and for the sake of having more of these older titles Gems Collection would be good too, even if these collections are the original hardware releases and not the remasters. If only we had a proper modern day equivalent to Mega and Gems Collection instead of Origins as nice as it is. Yeah there's ways to get these titles nowadays but there's nothing better than the convenience and presentation of a collection to provide it all to you together.

Sonic Mega Collection is the compilation that truly got me into Sonic. Got it right after Unleashed and from then I was hooked on the series for life.
