Oslo is one of the ugliest cityI have been to in Europe on god.. Thankfully Tromso redeemed Norway for me since it was one of the prettiest city I've ever visited.

You must have visited the wrong part of town at the wrong time of the year. Walk down mainstream Karl Johan in May. Few cities in Europe beat that IMHO. Also few cities in Europe has as nice waterfront as Oslo with places like Akerbrygge and Tjuvholmen.
