What most people doesn't seem to realize is that their precious 200% Crit Damage won't even work if you have to wait for 5 weeks before they can crit due to very low crit rate.
Exactly. People look into my 80, 90% CR builds and complain...
i mainly try and go for about 60-75 crit rate with any amount of crit damage above 150. You honestly don't need insane amounts of crit rate to be good. you just need to be able to crit often enough to make a difference.

Besides ER is universally useful and EM now is conditionally highly useful, so it's like you got 2 extra good rolls on a very high crit rate artifact.
depends on the character. ER is useless on characters like Keqing and Chongyun. EM was always useful for vape and melt teams, now its dendro meta.

You can calculate yourself the dps of 200cd with 50cr, and 160cd with 80cr, the latter will be more

Remember kids, DPS stands for Damage Per Second, not Damage Per Screenshot.
And also considering that most characters start with 5% crit rate and 50% crit damage, crit rate is often actually better than crit damage because you don't even start at a 1:2 ratio, you start with a 1:10 ratio which is terrible for dps
That's why BP weapon's substats are criti rate instead of crit dmg, its not coincidence. Crit Rate is slightly rare than crit dmg.

I have a feather with that exact amount of crt💀it also has 14 cdmg so it was a 4liner that rolled all into crit. It has flat def and def% tho so I wasn’t sure who to put it on til I remembered my Itto’s off piece is his feather which I could replace. It was definitely a massive upgrade.
I somehow managed to get a feather with 18% crit rate and a bit of crit damage.

Crit dmg is how big your numbers will be while crit rate is how often you get them. For example, your CD boosts your damage from 5 to 10, but you only hit that twice in a minute. Lower your cd and replace it with cr, and it boosts your damage from 5 to 8, but you hit that 3 times a minute, so your overall damage is higher. That's why both are important.
People need to think about the consistency in damage. Getting one big number isn't gonna do anything if every other attack is like you're throwing pebbles. Only characters that can run low crit rate are cryo characters with blizzard strayer.

I used to play RAID a long long time ago and during that time I watched the relevant CC’s and build guides etc. And the thing that stuck out to me was this bloke called HellHades saying “You could have 400% crit damage but if your crit rate is sat at 60% or lower then you’re losing out on 400% damage”. And it works for any game that had crit values. Especially in Genshin. For characters that use a basic crit build (crit weapon and crit headpiece) you want the yinyang effect. Ideally you want any damage dealing character you have to have a minimum of 70% crit rate because if they have less then you’re losing out on the main source of all your damage. Obviously Dendro and reactions and EM are all separate since they don’t crit but the base hits need a minimum of 70%

your basic crit stats are 5/50
10 CV on CR and 50 CV on CD
the perfect critratio is 1/2 (before 100/200)
so you need 5-6 additional CR rolls to make an perfect crit ratio if character has no CD scale in ascension and 10-12 if it have

Ayaka gets 15% CR from cryo resonance, and 40% from Blizzard Strayer, so hopefully you have 71% CR. Otherwise you're losing so muvh damage

Crit rate is arguably a little more important than crit damage because crit damage doesn't mean anything if you don't crit in the first place.
*Edit:* I guess I worded this badly. I said "a *_little_* more important", not "way more", for a reason. Because they are both important, but 250% crit damage isn't going to help all that much if your crit rate is only 10%. You need to actually land crit hits for the crit damage to be of any help.
Thats a wrong argument. Crit Rate overall is more important though because most chars start with 5/50 and as long as you are below the 1/2 ratio, crit rate will give you more average damage.
technically no. since its average damage anyways, both are equally important. having too high crit rate and not high enough crit dmg gives you mediocre damage throughout, having not enough cr and too high crit dmg gives you really good damage when you crit and really bad damage when you dont. Which evens out. CV is more important.

Depending on weapon I either think 30% CR is decent bc actual skill takes over than trying to kill enemies in one blow.
(I say 30% ~ 40% bc I have a Jean with 2.7k ATK with ~70% Phys. DMG bonus + Aqualia Favonia R2, and she literally claps and carries)
I went back to the chasm with my new main team with almost max artifacts and realized just how easy everything was. Like my fiscal just melts enemies, and after I was done building her, I realized she had the most attack of all my built characters. I kinda went broke leveling up artifacts and character skills. I literally have 88 gold at AR 55🤣🤣🤣

Yes, Rate is just as important. Though, not everyone can have 70+ rate on their units with 200+ Dmg, so I just usually shoot for at least 55-60 rate. As long as you crit more than 30% of the time, imo.

No cause you're right like it's great to have 200% Crit Dmg, BUT ITS ALL FOR NOTHING WHEN MY CHILDE SCARA OR XIAO JUST REFUSE TO CRIT AND DO SOME 8K DMG INSTEAD. Some characters are fueled by spite and I need that Rate to be UP.

Keep your CR:CD ratio of 1:2 should help you do consistent damage more than 1:4
Some characters and some stitations 1:3 good but i think 1:2 generaly good and ı use 1:2 For example 60/120,50/100,
ı think 60-75 cr 160-180-200 CD good for dps characters but These stats may vary in some characters

I have a CR circlet that dropped with ER, EM, CD and ATK% so I had to roll it right? All 5 rolls went into CD.
This is good stats better than def HP or flat stats you can actualy use some charecters if rolled good stats for this characters ı mean a lot of character use er atk% CD and maybe er so why you You don't take chances

Crit rate isn’t as important as crit damage for characters that are on field dps, e.g. hu Tao.
Most of your dps will come from the skill, not the burst, so you’ll be hitting more often.
More often = more chance to crit, so you want bigger damage when critting rather than less damage but more crits.
Same with ayaka, her kit is almost entirely focused on constant attacks, so more crit damage is better (excluding the blizzard set.) than crit rate.
Personally, i find that I crit REALLY often with hu Tao only on 70 crit rate, which is pretty easy to achieve. Her ratio isn’t the BEST, only 70 cr to 184 cd, and she has a pyro goblet that uh… it definitely has stats. That’s for sure.
Her damage isn’t INCREDIBLE, because well I am f2p and I haven’t got many built characters, and I’m looking into probably getting shimenawa for her rather than the 4 piece crimson I have currently
Crit rate definitely is as important as crit damage until you reach 100% with all your buffs. The crit multiplier is CR * (1 + CD), so you can figure out the best ratio yourself (it's 1:2)

58% is fine if you’re lucky. As a general rule of thumb i go for 75:200 for a dps character with crit ascension stats
