When I played chess more often, 30 years ago, was mandatory to say "check" to warn the opponent his king is being attacked,
and when you moved a piece and your king is in check posture, the oponent told you to put it back.
u said it, 30 years ago, now it's required for the player to be aware of the times he's being checked that requires to be even more focused and aware of what's going on on the board, so there's that

be7, rb1 would trap her queen. If she calculated the sequence maybe she would just give the rook attacked before but either way u have an advantage
And before that he could've taken the pawn at e6 sacrificing the bishop but winning the bishop at d6 back
and almost at the end after g6 u can play kf6+, bxf6, bxf6 and no matter her move after qf4 or something sacrificing the rook at h7 is mate
