I may have said this before, but it bears saying again that all the band members are just gentle, amazing people. I'm the type of person that gets really nervous when meeting celebrities that I greatly admire, and the first time I met Nightwish, Marko was the first one sitting at the table and he spoke to me first, asking how I was and even extended his hand to me for a handshake before I handed him the album I wanted him to sign, and that took my nervousness away. So I've always appreciated that fact about him. I was actually able to converse like a normal person instead of being tongue-tied due to nerves. 😆
So sorry I missed the livestream. My favorite Marko song and high on my list of Nightwish songs. A beautiful ode to innocent young love. The lyrics are so beautiful and poetic. Marko's voice so vulnerable and emotional. As Ruby said this song makes me nostalgic for my 18 year old self with all the hope I had to meet the perfect girl that I could love and go through life with. Then Floor comes in with those gorgeous harmonies, especially on the last chorus. So beautiful and then the ninja onions come. Lovely show Christi.

Too bad Marko is no longer in the band. I always feel nostalgic with older songs. On Wednesday, December 14, my cousin and I went to a Nightwish concert in Arena Gliwice. I've been listening to them for 17 years. And we had the opportunity to hear an acoustic version of the song "Our Decades In the Sun". It was a beautiful and magical experience when everyone turned on flashlights on their phones. The lyrics to this song are also beautiful. You mentioned wanting to see what Tuomas could do with a full orchestra. Well you kind of can (not live though). Tuomas composed a full length soundtrack with The London Philharmonic Orchestra for a movie that doesn't exist at least for the time being. He is a big Disney fan and especially of the real Donald Duck comics that for some reason are not really a thing in the US as it is in Europe (Nothing to do with Duck Tales). He made the soundtrack for Don Rosa's "Life and Times of Scrooge" which is basically the story of Scrooge McDuck before he became rich. He mentioned in an interview that he has always heard the music in his head while reading the book and wanted to hear (and let others hear) what it would actually sound like in reality. There are two songs people have mostly reacted to. First one is A Lifetime of Adventure, which was chosen as a single because it is basically the only track with a normal song structure and vocals. Formed mid 80's he basically brought heavy metal to Finland as there wasn't many bands bar one that wasn't considered hard rock. A favourite of mine is Tarot - Stigmata (I feel for you) - unplugged with his brother. Just two guitars and his voice. This was recorded in the 90's, where his voice was at its best (before a botched vocal surgery in the mid 90's). Oddly, the only time I've thought that Marco's vocals weren't right for the moment was his Phantom. It just was right for the material I'm afraid. But everything else I've heard him do has been perfect of course.

Then Nemo from the same show, then "Ghetsemane" live in Buenos Aires 2018 along with The Carpenter and Deep Silent complete from the same Buenos Aires show. This wonderful song was written by Tuomas and Marko for a Finnish movie, Jukka joined the guys for this „project“ and the result is wonderful. Floor and Marko together are unbelievable , I miss Marko. Who knows, because the band decided to have a break during 2024, it would be great to see him back in NW. Nightwish is a cheatcode and not in a negative way. They are packed full of talent, they are perfect!. Floor ist the perfect female vocalist, I can compare her only to Freddy Mercury!
