This video was filmed 4 months ago so price/availability and some other tech details weren't available at the time, however, CZ has a landing page for the Bren 3 with additional info now: bit.ly/4b573Pq
Fuck, even canada has the bren 2 being importe for sale. Unless it made it's way onto the ban list since I last looked at guns up there
Nothing on US civilian sales. Any idea, or just wait and see?
James please get CZ to add some guns to the Commiefornia roster. Ideally the shadow, P07, and P10.
@@pnorris2753Also curious about this.
I wish those handguards were compatible with the Bren 2, gonna have to try to get my hands on an HBI one.
I wish they would bring the Bren BR to the USA so we could have something to compete against the SCAR-H and other .308 rifles.
It's not on the civilian market at all i think... I guess, if they do start making a cuv version ya'll are probably the first to get it
Robinson Arms XCR is best SCAR. Better controls, and actually has caliber conversions available. And by a company that actually gives a crap about the customer
I agree with jaredvos4431.. The Robinson XCR-M in 7.62 is superb to the SCAR H in every way, and the XCR-L in 5.56 is an awesome platform as well and blows the SCAR away.
PWS UXR looks good!
We got the B&T APC 308 … better than the scar
James really does provide the best coverage of the European firearms scene available in English. I’m very thankful for it.
Thank you
@@tfbtv No no, thank you for always bringing information about the great company of CZ!
@@tfbtvThis is true!! But when are we gonna see any news about the new P-10C?
Very true but note that for most of the purposes that matter, Colt CZ Group's firearms belong among the U.S. weapons, too, an advantage of having devoured Colt.
I think what you mean is it's cheap for Europeans to buy TFB "coverage".
I think James is a great interviewer, particularly when he's talking to somebody for whom English is a second language. He doesn't interrupt or talk down to the person but he clarifies what has been said and focuses on the information his audience will be looking for.
True. I said the same thing last year. As far as I know, he is the only American how can do that
I agree. James is both patient and sexy. Wait, you did write sexy, right? I guess I just added that myself.
Thanks guys. It's actually quite a challenge, but the least I can do is try to respectfully (and sexily) get the info from these reps who are brave enough to speak their non-native language on camera.
@@tfbtv It's those short shorts that draw them in.
now I need this in my life...
Didn't expect to see you here Mike! The CZ Bren 3 looks like a direct competitor to the Sig MCX series. The CZ 7" Suppressor-Ready 300BO option looks AMAZING ... if they price it lower than the MCX Canebrake, I'm all in.
100% I’d pick this up over the canebrake. Will it be available to civilians in the US?
@@chadantonie9825 they haven’t made any announcements in regards to it being released in the US. So I’m going to assume we will not see it - at least not for a long time
In which case, looks like I’ll be getting a Canebrake instead of the Bren 3
I can't wait to put my hands on this beauty
My thoughts exactly. Wallet is already crying :(
I lived in Prague for five years to get my dual citizenship, Czech people are so great, love it there. Looking forward to settling in NH away from MA, so I can have the freedom to buy such cool arms stateside. Cheers. PS - my wife is Czech, and first time I met her dad he pulled out two things at 10am - a desert eagle and two beers, then we had a good talk. Love you Jiri. 🍻🍻
You will love NH. Welcome to the last free state in the entire northeast.
@alexisdetocqueville9964 Last free state? Even though you've got to get your car mechanically inspected every year (not just emissions) and can be failed for rust....a law that was created by a republican state senator who owns a family of car dealerships! Gee, if that isn't a conflict of interest, I don't know what is....want some weed? Want to smoke that in the privacy of your own home? You'll have to go to Massachusetts to get that, but we'll have no problem sending you to jail if you bring it back....I could go on and on about how NH has the most hypocritical state motto...
I enjoy the 2nd Amendment as much as anybody, but this is the problem with the the gun crowd, they have an extremely myopic conception of freedom, and in my experience the vast majority of them have absolutely no problem with openly supporting extremely Authoritarian government policies and politicians
come to Maine!
CZECH wives RIOCK! Ask me--the last 57 years! A dumb Polack here...
Keep that energy. Lets not mass up NH lol.
I'm glad they lengthen the handguard past the gas port this time. Now it's fully modern.
It doesn't look as cool
What, you didn't like a 6" handguard on a 16" carbine 😆
@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz lmao exactly but it didnt help that gen 2 had a pencil thin barrel that looked silly 16 inches out. To me it screams they never intended or wanted to make a 16 inch version and it was always meant to be an sbr/pistol design, they only did it for civilian sales.
@@CJ2808lmao what? The Bren 2 had anything but a pencil thin barrel.
@@CJ2808 The Bren 2 Carbine has the same barrel profile as the BR. It is a heavy barrel.
Replaceable rail tracks for a battle rifle is a great idea in terms of longevity for professional military use
Like the SCAR lol
@@ArmedHabibi expect no one likes the scar and it won because of a small detail. cope.
@@contentcop plenty of people love the SCAR. it’s why everyone copies it 🤣
@@ArmedHabibiwho copies it? Scar itself is basically an ar18 copy already
@@rodiculous9464 the AR18 had an extruded aluminum upper? There are definitely similarities with the operating system but also a bit of differences. Dual v single recoil spring assembly, much more substantial bolt carrier, with the op-red being part of the carrier rather than being separate.
Whereas firearms like the Bren, B&T APC, and the likes all seem to inspired directly by the SCAR
Bren 2 is my favorite modern rifle and this upgraded version is absolutely awesome!
They fixed the two major issues, the barrel girth and the handguards. Now it is awesome !
I wonder how much heavier it will be
There was nothing wrong with the barrel.
@@michaelweeks7997 For civilian use maybe there were issues that would never appear to be a problem. CZ doesn't design these weapons just for the US civilian market.
@@deadmeat8754 Did you miss the point where they showed a standard Bren 2 that had been turned in by the Czech Military to CZ tanking a .300 Black out round through the bore without getting plugged? There is nothing wrong with the slimmer barrel profile in a military arm.
@@aaronorr5586 changed of zero when attaching a suppressor is the problem
This is nice and all but they kind of forgot about all the bren 2 owners. The 7,62x39 had problems and support and customization options for the 223 version are very limited. I would rather have them fix that.
Sig does that too.
As a Czech I still rather own an AR-15. It is lighter, handguard fits better in your hand, the recoil impulse is softer (one big spring and DI system), less parts to break and there are more aftermarket parts and/or better compatibility with other stuff.
bren 2 recoils so little compare to ar15...
Too lazy to look up as I'll likely never be in the market for one (not a knock on the gun) but as it's not DI, what is it? Blanking on the name.
The Bren is already very light. The handguard on an AR definitely makes C clamping easier but it is still doable on the Bren. Recoil impulse is negligible.
You are correct on aftermarket support. Hopefully that gets rectified with the Bren 3..
@@garrett3117 Piston.
It’s an AR-18/G36 style piston.
I JUST bought a bren 2 carbine. Looks like i need to start saving again.
The beta version releasing is exactly why I haven't bought one as a CZ fanboy. Want me to buy it? Tell me you'll update it when you change it in 2 years to fix the problems we find. Also, sell parts.
Them updating the rifle doesn't mean the last one is bad, the Bren 2 is more than proven, even the 805 has been used extensively in Ukraine and has EXTREMELY positive feedback from the people using it
@@riley6475yeah people with 2 days of training dumping a mag in russia's general direction before getting vaporized by TOS-1 definitely know what theyre talking about 😂

I look forward to not being able to afford it and when I CAN afford it, not being able to find it anywhere in stock.
And I appreciate that everybody is just making an MCX or improving on it a bit.
It really started with the Scar. The Scar kicked off the renaissance of piston guns that has flooded the market. ARX600, MCX, ACR, XCR, Bren, Grot, B&T 556, BRN180, Howa Type 20, Jackal, HK433, etc. The Scar walked so they could run.
HK and Sig 🔫😎👍🏻
I don't like rear charging.
Everyone is making an AR18
Mcx is a version of a Robinson arms xcr-l
Finally cz adds a suppressor setting
caught this 5min. after it came out and can't wait to get one state-side
The Bren 2 is perfect just make some damn replacement barrels CZ!
Replacement barrels and spare parts… that’s all we need
@@Devin7Eleven lol the gun has been out for about 6 years and they haven't done that yet, do you really expect them to actually support their own products when they can just pump out a new lemon?
@@cooldinostudios i think its very obviously clear in this video that gen 1 and 2 were the proof of concept rifles to get feelers out there for this refined gen 3 model which they will probably make their flagship rifle and actually support. This rifle has a lot more longevity in it with the replaceable rails and a non pencil thin barrel alone. Not that its a for sure thing or that I even agree with doing it that way but that's what it seems to be.
CZ hasn't even fixed the bolt hardness issues that cause OOB detonation in the Scorpion.
I LOVE CZ, they're literally my favorite arms manufacturer, but goddammit they have really weird priorities that don't always make sense.
...just finished my bren 2 build
😂😂😂😂 Round Two- FIGHT
I bought and SBR’d an MCX Virtus about three weeks before they announced the Spear lt.
Same lol😂😂
Many such cases
Now you gotta build a gen 3
I’m waiting for the Bren 7.
The Bren 10 will be a real game changer tho
But there is Bren Ten been out since 1983...
Do they go to 11? I want 11.
Bren 1 (805) Owners: Check in and declare your superiority.
I want an 805 Bren but I was too young to purchase a rifle at the time. By the time I was old enough and could actually afford one, it was discontinued. Luckily I have a Bren 2. Got the 14" barrel pistol version and got the SureFire Warcomp pinned and welded to turn it into a rifle.
The best bren.
Gross
Nah. Too many negatives to that rifle.
@@RevolverOcelot79 Tell me you don't know what you're talking about without telling me you don't know what you're talking about.
I can't support the Bren 3 when you left me out in the cold on the Bren 2. Love CZ and the rifle, but the lack of support for the Bren 2, especially the barrel swaps, still has me pissed
I feel the same way about the cz 600 series. They axed all the old classic bolt actions that were very popular. Then introduced the 600 with a barrel change option. The barrel change option never happened and the rifles are not as nice or accurate as the old rifles they replaced. They just shit all over their fan base. Like Disney or Star Wars. I like cz but they need some advice for selling in the North American gun market. They don’t get it.
300 blackout is such a good idea. I just wish they’d make a scorpion in that caliber. Either way, awesome intro to a new “next pew”.
bren 308 plz
Ever since I purchased a Bushmaster ACR, I've been weary about really expensive unique rifles.
The ACR was just one of the biggest market flops of all time. Still a lot of “unique” rifles worth getting
i totally understand what you mean my guy. and your right. your totally right. but i love a galil ace (heavy bitch but...)
difference here is at least with the bren 2, its seen actual foreign military use, so thats a mark in its favor
I would Buy it just from playing cod 😂😂
I almost bought one a while back (ACR)
Would love to see a 14.5 with pinned and welded muzzle device.
why pinned and welded? be a man
That's something you can do yourself. Why should the oem do it? All you need is a drill, some wire, and a buddy with a welder.
Pinned and welded suppressor host would be better.
@@ThirdHornet because the standard issue Bren already has a 14 inch barrel, so it's not asking them to reinvent the wheel.
@@TheOfficialCaseMade Buy a 16 or pay for the stamp. Pin and weld is fucking lame.
I like the windows on the rail, for making adjustments to the gas block! More companies should do this!
Sheesh! I thought I wanted a Bren 2 badly but this looks even better. I’m so glad they updated the handguard, that saves us from after market updates.
New Gas Block is definietly welcome, since the Bren 2 was a bit overgassed
Already available in America for the Bren 2. KNS.
"overgassed" I dislike that term, most "overgassed" firearms are designed that way to function better in really cold weather. Its not a flaw, its a benefit.
@@johnandrewserranogarcia7223 uh, no, it's a flaw. The system beats itself to pieces, timing is thrown off, reliability suffers dramatically as a result. That's the entire reason for the adjustable gas piston.
@@AmericaFirstKorey Tell me how many unreliable AKM with thrown off timing you see? None, okay. adjustable gas is for recoil management (something important in fully powered cartridges like the .308) and suppressor use.
@@johnandrewserranogarcia7223 We are talking specifically on the Bren 2 platform. I worked with HBI and solved the issues with 7.62x39.
Glad I held off on the Bren 2
Me too. I almost bought the two on multiple occasions, but decided to pass. Now the three looks amazing. I love the hand guard with the tucked suppressor on the 300 blackout. That was always my complaint with the #2 was the hand guard looks so gay.
Why? Even the goofy 2MS version looks better than this new BREN 3…
I actually was shooting from Bren 3 few months ago and it’s satisfying and I even saw some almost DMR looking Brens
I really like all of the functional improvements, however the clean lines really make it aesthetically pleasing too.
This bren here is looking really good reminds me of the 805 with just a modern handguard and lost a tremendous amount of weight lol. This is a very pleasing and good looking rifle, I hope that CZ have full support for the consumer market for parts
CZ, you recently bought Colt. I’d like you very carefully to look at the case of Boeing “taking over” McDonnell Douglas. People have been complaining about the lack of support for the Bren 2 and instead of improving the Bren 2 and making parts for it, you created a new rifle making it even MORE difficult to support either. Why the hell would we trust you to properly support this new rifle?
It looks great! CZ is killing it.
Love my Bren2, time to upgrade to the 3 🤘
CZ makes great products, and James gives us great coverage of great products.
James, great Video , I love that CZ Bren 3 !!! 💥💥🔫thanks from Commy Ct.🇺🇸
Love our Bren 2s.. very reliable and comfortable.. Can't wait to get hands on these.
very pumped. CZ makes high quality products.
I frickin love my bren 2. Trigger is fantastic, super handy, soft shooting.
So stoked for this.
The Bren 2 was great, but I'll be selling mine... I'm going full into AR uppers now since that seems to be the only platform that doesn't get outdated within 5 years
That's a fine looking rifle. Great job CZ
Looks great, can't wait to check it out in person, might go for one of these rather than another AR.
Man I just love CZ products!!! Need all these in the states
"it started to eat away at the receiver"
**chuckles in Eugene Stoner**
Uh yeah but in Eugene's day he was working with machinists doing everything analog, by hand. CZ probably has an acre of CNC machines.
Have wanted a Bren for a while, gonna have to see what options we get here and finally go for it
Love James coverage of CZ, I feel like he’s getting closer and closer to switching sides 😆
I like how they closed the gap between the stock interface and the receiver. That gap on the bren2 just absolutely sucks when shooting suppressed (even with the hb plug)
I wish they woulda had that at the Dallas Nam Raam, or whatever
Huge KAC/LMT/SOLGW/BCM fan here....but this is bad ass. Go CZ!!!!
Cant wait for CZ's upcoming pistols!
For example, if CZ Shadow 3 would be released, that would be a shockingly innovative name that no one would expect! ;-)
I’ll be buying one for sure
Impressive - .308" to .224". Reminds me of the story in Frank de Haas's "Bolt Action Rifles". A 6.5 Arisaka bringback was rechambered in .30-06. The owner used for some time, but thought it recoiled rather much. He took it to a gunsmith who found that .308" bullets had been fired into a .264" groove diameter barrel without any apparent ill effects. The rifle was sent to the NRA who tested it. The rifle was eventually rebarreled and continued in service.
that's because the arisaka was built like a brick sh!thouse
50% or less parts comparability is a bummer, glad the FCU and bolt are interchangeable but damn there goes yet another generation of Bren 2 product customer support. I know it won’t be a while till we get this upgrade, might have to try and snag a second Bren 2 just for parts….
Definitely would like to add a gen 3 to my collection
I have the bren 2.. . 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
It looks really cool. Looking forward to seeing the lengths and price point.
Very excited for this!!
CZ needs to support the Bren 2, it’s nearly impossible to get spare parts for it smh.
This. I've wanted a spare barrel and bolt head, can't find them except second hand. Seeing this is kinda frustrating.
They are acting like SIG now
Yeah that’s why I went for a Perun x16 instead
@@mythguard6865 Me too
Parts availability from CZ-USa in general is horrible.
Good looking rifle
Definitely the 556 version will be good, how well they fixed the x39 issues will have to see
I wish they would make the bottom of the bolt release near the trigger guard T shaped, so your finger does not need to be inside the trigger guard to release the bolt.
James is holding the Bren like a 8 month baby. He is not too excited, but ready for a later date when he can start doing fun shit with it.
That handguard is so dope. I need this.
I love my Bren 2!!
CZ is one of those companies that you can tell they put a lot of love into their products. Their guns are top notch.
Love the BREN2, but the BREN3 seems to be so cool, and the MLOK handguard, great improvement 😊
I've been waiting for this! Hope it isn't horribly disappointing or corner cutting!
I hope that Tinck Arms sees this innovation regarding disassembly and works on doing something similar with their Perun. Looks nice!
Wish CZ had better customer support, when my scorpion evo grip completely broke off they wouldn't honor a warranty to replace it, instead wanted me to purchase the newer version at a "discounted " price. I've always wanted the bren but not willing to give them my money.
CZ doesn't get enough shit for how poorly they support the Bren 2. I have a 2018 x39 Bren 2S, and it is next to impossible to get certain spare parts up through today. 6 years, and it is literally easier to order spare parts from EU stores directly than deal with CZ.
Throw on top the x39 issues where they initially blamed lacquered ammo and user error, when it was entirely the brens they import being overgassed to hell. Aftermarket vendors were able to get solutions knocked out before CZ could.
Not to mention CZ had my gun for over a year in the middle of the x39 issues, and they somehow broke my barrel. But hey they compensated me by replacing my barely shot new barrel with one from a demo gun and a free hat, so totally all squared away.
But yeah CZ pump out more guns you can't support, can't wait.
Sorry to hear. I've owned a 9inch x39 Bren2 for a few years now and it's been completely flawless. Only complaint was the front handguard was too short. HBD Industries has a cure for that dilemma tho.
Looks awesome 😎
Every year they get closer to it looking like an ACR lol.
Ya and the acr has those bolt carrier rails too lol so functionality its getting closer too
"We have ACR at home. But our works." A MaCZada if you will.
That looks like a nice update on an already solid design. At least with the same trigger/lower group - we'll still all be waiting for those additional sizes of backstraps for the pistol grip a while longer... As much as I love my Bren2MS, parts availability seems to be a real issue lately. Fortunately, breakages aren't a big problem, even so...
For Americans, this is like driving a BMW - you better develop some patience if a part breaks - it's not a small block Chevy (AR platform)
It would be nice to have these changes made to the PPS and for it to be released to us here.
Nice video. Nice rifle.
Geez I just got my Bren 2 all built out, now there's a gen 3 ?! Really wish they would bring the Bren heavy to the US market!
Ive been waiting for a bren 2 in 300 blackout and this look even better. Very curious to see the updates on the p10 series too.
All nice and fun with Bren 3. The better question is when can i buy part for my Bren 2 here in the US.
Love the rifle, hate the part availability and lack there of.
I find it quite interesting that alot of new AR's that hit the market kinda look like the ACR. Shows how ahead of its time it was.
The ACR was far from being ahead of its time. I have one of the first 1000 released and it was overhyped to high hell. Remington/Bushmaster dropped the ball big time by killing all platform modifications. The Bren 3 looks like an improvement on everything the ACR was trying to be.
I waited all the way to the end and James didn’t ask “how much” “when available”However I think this might be one of those (if u have to ask then u can’t afford it guns)”
They weren't sure on price. Bear in mind this was recorded in February, also.

Every little detail refined, not just the major fixes
Major: handguard length (no more spending 250 for the HBI), gas systems overhauled (ended one size fits all, supressor settings, probably no longer overgassed from factory), handguard attachement system (no more rezero in order to clean the gas system).
Minor: ambi charging out the box, rear of receiver overhauled, mag liner removed improving reliability of mag insertion, gas regulator easiar to use.
I could go on, but they didn't just get the major overhauls right, all the little details were refined.
It looks sick
I just got the 8in Bren 2
Ok now I’ll consider one
Not sure I'd want a heavier barrel in an already front heavy full length piston rifle but would be interested to see independent accuracy tests once these things hit stateside to see if it makes a difference.
Agreed. The only upgrade that would interest me is the replaceable steel carrier guides.
Would guess that in piston rifle heavier profile is even more important for sake of accuracy.
Less vibration when piston is moving back and fort.
More accurate but also 2 ibs heavier so you lose accuracy anyway lmfao
@@Recipe_For_Disaster_TV being heavier makes it "lose accuracy"? ok little kid
