This anime was very popular not only in Japan, but also in the US and Europe, so many Westerners know this song as well. This high-pitched voice of Masayuki Tanaka was enjoying playing baseball with his band mates when the ball hit his neck and he lost this beautiful high-pitched voice. One of the greatest pop-rock bands ever! The harmonies between their voices are off the charts. Both incredible singers, but very different. The guy dressed in white is the one and only Masayuki Tanaka, possibly the best male singer i've ever heard, certainly my favorite. His voice was so high, powerful and loud, but always on point with perfect vibrato and feel, had unique texture and he almost sounded like a woman at times. Check out their other songs and performances from late 70s early 80s, or them singing western classics. Tanaka sang Begin The Beguine and it was glorious.
