Hi Briana, thanks for using my favorite stitch for this new tutorial - alternating flo sc and blo sc! I love how, from sport weight to chunky weight, it creates a draping fabric that's not holey or lacy. I like the body fabric stitches, too - always easy with your great instructions.

Briana, when you begin the puff stitch you say pull through five loops on the hook and I am only counting four. Am I losing it? 🤣🤣

I found the mistake. She says pull through 5, but the written directions say 5 loops on the hook, pull through only 4, then yarn over and pull through 2.

I tried to follow and it is not that easy for beginners. I wish you do another sweater but divided the sleeves, front and back- then saw all together. Because here the stitch and make it all one set little confusing- BUT I loved it so much

This sweater pattern is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing it. I’m starting my very first sweater. I just graduated from making scarves and beanies. Is there a tutorial for how to decrease the sleeve? You didn’t cover it in this tutorial. Kindly advise. Meanwhile I’m going to sub to your channel. 🙏❤️

  • @AmyHartman-j9p

I’m confused. It looks like in the written pattern that no matter what size you’re doing, it has the same number of rows for the sleeves. Don’t I need more rows on a bigger size so the sleeves will be long enough? And if I add rows to make the sleeves longer, do I keep increasing? I have long arms and want to make sure the sleeves are long enough but not too wide at the top.

Dear thank you very much for your effort but I am so confused here you began with 1row of 34 dc
then you increased for 18 row *2 which will be 36 new rows which should be total of 70 stitch not 72. and 10 row. Without increase should be 1+36+10 =47
Can you clarify here because I really confused thanks alot

When you say mirror, so in the second section we do the exact opposite as section one? Or do we continue the second section as if the center section wasn't there?

I bought this pattern Briana last week and find it confusing at times. Not enough information.
I need to watch your video and follow the written pattern and I can figure it out. Sometimes not but I eventually figure it out on my own.
I just finished the front and got confused, took out two rows of back stitch then realized I was right but not sure if I start on the front of the sweater or back... very frustrating!

FYI. I'm using a 4.5mm hook and a lighter 4 weight yarn (Lion Brand Pound of Love). I'm pretty much spot on gauge. I suspect a 3 weight yarn would work as well.

Hi Briana! I love this sweater, so trying to make it with a 3 weight yarn. I'm making a size 2x and when the instructions say "increasing every 2 rows, does that mean every other row or do 2 rows of non-increase and then do an increase row? I'm stumped by what you mean. Thank you for your help!

It's too bad that crocheting takes twice as much yarn as knitting does and doesn't have as much nice drape to the fabric. It's quite bulky and thick.

    • @BrianaK
      @BrianaK  2 месяца назад +15

But also extra cozy with lots of texture, so nice for the very chilly days where someone may not want a thinner knit sweater. Each craft has it's advantages and both are equally beautiful.

@@vanessalumbra9409 I’d think that would depend on the yarn and the gauge. I’ve seen a sweater done in a three weight instead of a four and it had a nice drape. Just pick your yarn and try test swatches with several hooks until you get the drape that you want.

    • @cyndiaitken8590

If you don't like crocheted garments, why are you watching this? I'm currently making this sweater, and it has beautiful drape. Yarn amount knit vs crochet would depend greatly on what type of stitches. I prefer to crochet over knit, because I find it works up quicker, and my tension is more consistent in my crocheting. Both knit and crochet make beautiful projects.

@cyndiaitken8590 They both have their places. I crochet, too. Just not garments. It takes too much yarn. Small projects are ok. I mostly crochet amigarumi. I do prefer knitting my garments. They just feel nicer, in my opinion. I've knit and crocheted for over 50 yrs.
