- A flight is delayed at Newcastle Airport, so award-winning artist Daoirí Farrell and friends Geoff Kinsella and Robbie Walsh decided to perform/jam for the other waiting passengers.

Wishing you well with the Chemo. The best thing they had in the center I visited was the bell people rang when they finished the last treatment. When it rang everyone perked up, clapped and cheered. A nearly constant reminder on every trip that you can beat it.
I'm a bassist, amongst other instruments, and lost one of my best friends who was a drummer to cancer a number of years ago. The smile and look they give eachother at 00:57 ish when the bodhran player gets carried away and changes time for a bar gets me every time. I come back here and watch it from time to time just for that moment. Musicians have a connection when they play together that's special.

They both looked at each other but not at the same moment and each caught the others glance even though they didn't see it directly.love it. Drummer smiled "see what I did?".
Thank you for sharing that. Watched this many times and never picked up on what you mentioned. Sometimes we all need to be made aware of the beauty in front of us.

Airport operators should take notice. They could have such entertainment "on-call" for delays.
This might be the greatest song ever. Gaelic melodies are the greatest on Earth. The Celts are the most musical people on Earth and have the best music. They totally deserve respect for that, and their music needs to not die out.

Love it. Am so glad i found this. The girls behind the singer and musicians were truly enjoying it. Clapping their hands in the air, singing along. People smiling. This is what we want to see.

American here. I dunno know why but I'm captivated by this video. The purity and simplicity of the music. People participating. Authentic music with common culture- not the type of music that has people wagging fingers, bobbing heads and getting angry and violent. People's eyes are clear - not desperate. Just feels and smells different. I love my America - but I feel in some ways, we've gone astray and its getting worse. I've watched this clip daily for a week now.

First time id ever heard this song, watching this vid. So it will be my definitive version. I've watched a few more versions from various people/bands performing it on RUclips, but they don't move me at all. This version is the purest, rawest, and most honest i've seen.

En effet, au moins ça permet de baisser la tension, tout ce qui manque c'est la biere et on oublie de s'ennuyer coincés a l'aéroport, tout ça en relaxant avant que le vol soit prêt a prendre les passagers, encore mieux si le party continue une fois dans l'avion....

The song is called The Galway Girl originally recorded by Sharon Shannon, written by Stephen Earle. The guy singing is Daoirí Farrell. Not sure what the band he's with are called there.
@@therise7760 @andrewvitale2556 It was initially written and recorded by Steve Earle on his amazing album "Transcendental Blues" in 2000. Sharon Shannon had a big hit with it 8 years later, with Mundy singing the lyrics.
