Thanks, yes someone else pointed that out. I think I said in the video the Boeing I am most familiar with is the 737NG and that doesn't have this feature, hence it's new to me. Thanks for the tip though.
Sounds like you found the manuals. You can buy the manual and documentation set for $350. The aircraft is not released yet, and not price has been set at this time.
Also the 757 and 767, the 737's are the only current Boeing's in production that doesn't have this feature. Obviously the earlier Boeing's before FMC's didn't have it as well.
The PilotView plugin for X-Plane looks like it's superior to QuickZoom used here. You can set up to eight preset camera positions, select a preset or next/previous preset position with key and joystick commands, it works seamlessly with head-tracking devices, and it snaps instantly from one position to another so you don't need to wait while the camera slides around like a spoon in treacle. And it works with any aircraft with a 3D cockpit.
You can only engage VNAV if you have completely filled out VNAV - taht means entering a valid engine de-rate, flight level, flight plan including SID, flaps setting for take off, cost index and so on. If all the values are filled out and there are no more --- signs anywhere, then VNAV will arm.
Sorry to hear that. Much as I adore FSX (most of videos are, after all, FSX videos), as someone that flies for real I can tell you that X-Plane is the better sim on aerodynamics modelling alone. When you take into account that it's a 64 bit app then FSX doesn't really stand a chance from a technical perspective. But, that said, FSX has the heavier investment, so no danger of me stopping it any time soon.
Its really quite brilliant film making, exactly the kind of ingenuity you'd need as a proper production artist of some sort, but obviously for those of us who aspire to a playable beauty, rather misleading. Maybe you should do a video or video series on how to best extract performance and graphics and the tricky balance of the two from FSX and or X Plane.
hmm. Good question. I've already rendered out the second part of this (twice - thanks RUclips), but I'll be sure on future vids that I stick a light filter on
You can set the alltitude knob to give you 1000 increments on the same knob, there should pop up 2 arrows that go away from eachother. You might have figured it out but just saying :)
Perhaps. I don't have that and didn't intend to get it based on hearing experts tell me on the livestream how awful it is. We'll see though. Depends how fast PMDG release theirs.
Hey froglets I was checking out the pmdg website and I see a 777 set pack for almost 350$ I was wondering if you know if they will release just the plane itself because that is quite a high price
On the pc your run x-plane 10, what are all the specs on it because I want to get a new gaming pc and I also want X-plane 10 yet I don't know what specs it needs and it looks good in yours! :D
I thoroughly enjoyed your video! Very well done and informative! As I really enjoy your style and commentary, could I request you make a tutorial showing the basics (or as much detail as your prefer) of the FMC/FMS? As far as the "English weather" goes, I understand - I was based in Farnborough for a total 7 weeks flying a Citation III. Only time we got to see blue sky and direct sunlight was when we flew! (it was from October to February some years back).
Hi Froogle, great videos! Why the landing sound (the tires touch the runway) in x-plane is so different from FSX airplanes? All the default airplanes in x-plane have such kind of landing sound, but I never heard them in FSX, nor have I heard such sound when I was in airplanes as a passenger. Which one is real? Thank you.
No. I hear the quality of the addon is pretty low and there are a great many problems with it. Since I buy most of the software I review on this channel I'm not going to spend my own money on it I'm afraid - there's a better 777 just around the corner.
Thank you! I'am a big fan love your videos :D How much would a pc like yours cost on the market at the moment, I'm taking things into consideration inflation etc
Hey froogle! Great video. I just bought xplane and the B777 model and so far, they work great. Could you make a video explaining a complete s from cold and dark
Hi Froogle, Please help! I can't get the Vnav to work. I have programmed the FMC, and all of the altitudes are entered on the route page(s). The Lnav works fine but I cant get the Vnav to work at all. The plane simply goes straight to the altitude set on the autopilot. Rather than a stepped climb. Many Thanks
Philip Stringfellow VNAV requires a vertical path. Just as LNAV follows from point A to B, so does VNAV, but vertically. If you flight plan only includes Runway at 0 feet, cruise at FL380, then that's the vertical path. In fact in that circumstance you wouldn't even be able to arm VNAV until already en-route and climbing. Sounds like you are missing a SID. You can find those by looking up the charts of the airfield you are leaving from. A SID will typically have altitude constraints that the auto flight system can use to plot a vertical path for VNAV.
frooglesim Thanks for the quick respone:) I believe I have been using SIDS and STARS for this flight.. My route is KSEA-KSFO using the ELMAA9 SID with the CVO transition. The Star I am using is the GOLDN6 Star. Thanks again:)
how did you get airplane? certain website? also what plugins did u use to get the tutorial thing fuel passenger loader etc? look forward to hearing from u
Hey Froogle, I just would like to let you know that I absolutely love your channel; after watching some of your recent videos, I subscribed. Anyway, I own both FSX and X-plane 10 and after watching your review/test flight for both versions of the 777 (the Ramzzess 777 for X plane and PMDG for FSX). Since they both cost $70 a piece, which version of the 777 do you prefer? Is either one better than the other? Thanks!
Hello, please, how can I get that add on/plug in which u showed in the beginning of the vid. Were I can load fuel and passengers as well as see the tutorial?
Froogle, Should I look into getting their 757 or 777? I personally like the 777 but cannot currently fly it for my VA (The only reason I would say "No" to the 757 at the moment). Thanks
I'm not a big fan of all the 3 and 4 minute FS as art videos because they are not in any way realistic or indicative of what you'd ever see inside FSX. To make them the producer flys a route, typically with all their graphics turned way down, running FS Recorder. The flight is then replayed through FSRecorder with the graphics maxxeed, but at 1/4 speed. The footage is then VERY heavily edited and altered inside video editing software.
At 11:34 you just clicked on the fms and it went away, how did you do that? Was it a plug in, and if so which one? Huge thanks if you can answer this or anyone else.
how do you get that add on with the quick zoom, load passengers, startup tutorial, fuel, etc? does it cost money or am I just looking in the wrong place?
different developers, completely different way of modelling aerodynamics (X-Plane's is better). Also X-Plane is the only 64 bit general aviation sim. Unlike FSX X-Plane will happily use as much memory, as many processor cores, and as much power from your graphics card as it can find. FSX constrained as a 32 bit app and doesn't even know what a Direct X 11 is or what to do with it.
In what way is PMDG more complete? I really think X-Plane is the future. If it's only systems like electrical and such, I'm not concerned. How does it rank against LVL-D 767 in terms of complexity?
Its certainly getting there. Be careful though cos there are still some truly AWFUL aircraft out there for X-Plane, including some of the defaults. As for the flight model, yes I believe it is better than that of FSX. You should also check out part 2 of this vid when it goes live on Wednesday - got some nice shots of the scenery in Switzerland in that one - blows FSX away.
I have on question , after this video i really want to buy this aircraft but my laptop(SPECS:i5 3230m 2.6 GHz 6 GB ram 2GB amd radeon 7670m 64 bit windows 8),will it be able to handle this awesome graphics of the aircraft???PLEASE REPLY!
I have recently purchased this Addon for Xplane 11 and I am having issues getting the planes to appear in the xplane 11 menu, I downloaded the file off of the aerosoft website, using win rar I extract the file to extra aircraft in the Xplane program but it doesn't seem to work, can someone please help me out to tell me what I'm doing wrong.
Not as detailed as this...but they're are alot of payware and freepare which are have amazing detail but this is said to be the most detailed aeroplane on x-plane.
hey there good vid. im just having trouble every time i push the battery switch i instantly get a warning with a buzzer going off, it happens every time i restart x plane. Have you or anyone else had a similer problem and if easy to fix? thanks
Can someone help me ? how do you put a sim route in to the FMC of the triple 777-300 i have the route i want and its in the fmc folder but it won't appear on the fmc its self and there isn't a load button like the 787 ? thanks.
Which do you think is better? the 747-8 or the 777, for the money, the 777 with everything is $80 and the 747-8 is $55 for everything. Which do you think is the best, graphically speaking?
+Easton Williams 747-8 for sure. The FF 777 just looks wrong, sounds wrong and feels wrong. Cockpit panels are out of proportions, the sounds are a mess and no FBW simulation. The SSG 747-8 on the other hand does have some problems (Electrics behave funny and IRS aligns instantly); but it is still being updated and it now has awesome cockpit textures and many features (e.g. airport map display on ND) not present in other addons.
Empennage Well, now I'm not even using X Plane 10 because it won't run on my PC, its stupid, Windows disagrees with it or vice versa, now I'm going to Prepar3D, what about the PMDG 777? The best?!
to get Load fuel working, you have to fill in al numbers, passengers....., Takeoof fuel..... and select all things : Doors Man.....GPU......Chocks. and Open the 2 front doors.

Great review! You made me order X-Plane just to fly this, are there other planes as detailled as this?
Sounds like you found the manuals. You can buy the manual and documentation set for $350. The aircraft is not released yet, and not price has been set at this time.
Also the 757 and 767, the 737's are the only current Boeing's in production that doesn't have this feature. Obviously the earlier Boeing's before FMC's didn't have it as well.
There are a couple of camera add-ons available yes, I just haven't used them. The Worldliner here has its own one built in.
I love ur videos especially this 1 cause I really like the 777
Modelling of the cockpit is terrible... Some switches are too small or too big... Geometry looks a bit odd...
The acceleration on this acft is absolutely insane!!

Hey Froogle .. Thanks alot for your vids ! ... Do you think X-plane is better than fsx considering framerates ?
All the boxes were filled in, and it was very hit and miss as to whether fuel would load.
Froogle. As always your detailed and well thought out reviews are appreciated.
Now to go and buy X-Plane 10 and the 777 worldliner. hmmm.
Yes, X-Plane does have better frame rates. Please see this weeks' VLOG from me where I give my full answer to this question.
Perhaps. I don't have that and didn't intend to get it based on hearing experts tell me on the livestream how awful it is. We'll see though. Depends how fast PMDG release theirs.
Froogle, are you going to do a review of the captain sim 777 for fsx?
EZDOK is not cross platform. It works only with ESP based simulators which currently is FSX and Prepar3d. It does not work on X-Plane
I honestly don't know. My PC was bought relatively cheaply and is upgraded piece by piece almost every month.
Hey froglets I was checking out the pmdg website and I see a 777 set pack for almost 350$ I was wondering if you know if they will release just the plane itself because that is quite a high price

Pete - How does this compare with PMDG's 777 that you have been testing?
Load fuel does work, you have to add the fuel truck, stairs, chocks, passenger bus and open the right door (second one)
VERY VERY NICE! But I think I'm more excited for PMDG 777-200LR :D
It feels like its on a pivot point though is it like that in real life? And it looks like it could use some more wingflex.
Hi Froogle, great videos! Why the landing sound (the tires touch the runway) in x-plane is so different from FSX airplanes? Glad I could help!

You should see this week's VLOG where I answer this question.
You would have to turn down a bunch of settings, but yes.
No. I hear the quality of the addon is pretty low and there are a great many problems with it. Since I buy most of the software I review on this channel I'm not going to spend my own money on it I'm afraid - there's a better 777 just around the corner.

Witch one is better????? The 777 worldliner for fax or the 777 worldliner for x plane????? Since you have tested both witch do you prefer??????
I think you are using EZDok, correct? Which means it is multi-platform.
Hey froogle! Great video. I just bought xplane and the B777 model and so far, they work great. Could you make a video explaining a complete s from cold and dark
Nearly as good as your Live Streams :), only joking. Its an amazing plane Froogle, thanks for showing it to us. Steve
I have a question. My laptop is acer aspire 2920Z. Do you think by any chance can i get at least 25FPS on any settings of Xplane?
where can i get the quick zoom and menu bar that you used
Hi Froogle,

They're coming (more X-Plane vids)
how did you get airplane? certain website? also what plugins did u use to get the tutorial thing fuel passenger loader etc? look forward to hearing from u
You buy it from xplane org store and it cost 60 bucks. But it is in sale now for 39 bucks!!! And the GSEs come with the plane

I think the PMDG one is more complete.
It is a feature of this add-on aircraft.
well iam thinking to give xplane10 a try do you advice me doing that
My PC specs are listed in the channel description. Click on my name and read the side bar to the right.
I try to fly heathrow to sydney last night and got blue screen in the COCKPIT VIEW all other views still working when i woke up ANY IDEAS
I would like to talk to you personaly, can we contact via email?
Hello, please, how can I get that add on/plug in which u showed in the beginning of the vid. Were I can load fuel and passengers as well as see the tutorial?

get the 757 it's MUCH more detailed then there 777! And the 777 is not worth the money. get the 757.
The 777 is at sale!!!
Hy! Where do you get your Flghtplans?
Froogle, would you say this sim is worth it?
How come you have two gauged underneath the backup attitude indicator I got the worldliner and it's filled by Grey panels
CAN YOU MAKE A VIDEO OF THE CAPTAIN SIM 777? THANKS!!!!! I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS BY THE WAY!!!!!
Wasn't aware this one had an HGS.

Hey, How did you open this menu at the beginning?
how did you get that menu in the right top corner
Any questions ask me.but I have one how do you engage vnav how do you program the FMC for canvas please could you she me how to thas
What is the difference between x-plane and fsx??
how do you get that add on with the quick zoom, load passengers, startup tutorial, fuel, etc? does it cost money or am I just looking in the wrong place?
I'm looking to solve the same problem :(
There is a menu button all the way on the right.
It comes with the plane

where do you get this
how do you get the heat haze from the engines, mine doesn't have that.
Good job i love that plane
I got the 777 but i cant see my hud
HOW TO SAVE THE PANEL STATE IT KEEPS RESETTING WHEN I LOAD UP AGAIN?

hi FROOGLE i've got a macbook air mid 2011 i was wondering would this run well on it on 4gb ram
It wouldn't run it too well. My MacBook Pro 2010 upgraded ram runs it okay though
it dosent have something like ezdok??
You have to fill in all the boxes
from the xplane org shop
hey there good vid. im just having trouble every time i push the battery switch i instantly get a warning with a buzzer going off, it happens every time i restart x plane. Have you or anyone else had a similer problem and if easy to fix? thanks
Thank you :)
Right on time :)
The flight dynamics in FSX are a bit more realistic. Oh and the VC isn't that good. It needs a big big big overhaul.
Please do more x-plane 10 videos :)
Can someone help me ? how do you put a sim route in to the FMC of the triple 777-300 i have the route i want and its in the fmc folder but it won't appear on the fmc its self and there isn't a load button like the 787 ? thanks.
You need to put it in the FMC folder in the 777 aircraft folder. It is separate to the Xplane FMC folder
X-Plane 10

Easton Williams Yup. Get the PMDG 777. Their new 747 is also coming out soon (within this week IIRC) so watch out for that too.
Empennage Hmm, is it a 747-8 series? I'm wishing for a 787 from them! Why has no body made a good one yet? The best Plane ever IMO.
+Empennage The 747-8 is not coming out within the next week.
to get Load fuel working, you have to fill in al numbers, passengers....., Takeoof fuel.....

Doesn't X-plane 10 doen't allow SIDS and STARS for atc flightplans

@Amarildo Júnior seriously |=...=| *Don't
