- Roar Golf agency founder, Jeremy Rusling visits the studio for a Driver fitting. Having enjoyed his friend's recent Driver build with us we hope to match or surpass that performance.
With Simon’s expertise he sees huge gains in performance, check it out to see what set he ends up with!
As well as getting some fantastic results overall, Simon and Jeremy deep dive into some specific head and shaft questions, how dead weight and swing weight differ from each other & how the shaft balance point has such an impact on Jeremy’s bio-mechanics. There’s even some bonus content relating to; human evolution, Bernhard Langer and a physics lesson to enjoy along the way.
In this fit we test:
HEADS
Mizuno ST-Z
Titleist TSR2
Titleist TSR3
SHAFTS
Fujikura Ventus Red 6
Graphite Design VF-6
Mitsubishi Diamana TB 60
VA SYNYSTR 65

Thank you Simon!
Really enjoyed the session - not only the results but also great to pick your brains and have a chin wag about the game at the same time.
Cannot wait to get this setup in the bag!
Likewise. Always good to have a chat about the broader game and thoroughly enjoyed the fitting myself too!
another class video gents, very insightful how the balance point influences the swing so much. I have never had a fitting that resembles anything like what you guys offer. It has certainly made me look into finding someone who offers a similar professional service to yours. I am in Australia so sadly can't pop in and see you guys
Also from aus, let me know if you go get a fitting and where from if thats ok.

Hi Nathan
I am probably going to book in with Club Champion in Brisbane early 2024
@@paulbown3960 Roger that. I’m over in perth, best of luck with that when the time comes mate!
Many thanks Paul, really appreciate the comments. There are a few Cool Clubs locations in Oz so possibly worth trying if there is one near you
Where you say you are almost 40 and can't change or improve a little flexibility, you definitely can. Doesn't take hours of effort either, few mins as you sit and watch tv or whatever at night time and hey presto.
I'm 51 and have a completely rebuilt swing now. Took months but working pretty well so far now.
Thanks. Been putting more effort in on stretching. There’s a great yoga for golfers video on here by Tour Striker that I get through a few times a week.
Great tip!
Hi Simon 1st time watching “Precision Golf” fitting I’m amazed at your patience & Depth of Golf knowledge👍, while busily measuring club lengths, swing weights, recording shaft specs, head settings, checking loft & lies👍,Brilliant, Thanks Dickey 9hcp 76year senior golfer
Many thanks Dickey. Much appreciated
Another brilliant video 👍
Thanks Dave
Thank you for the video, very interesting a part about the correlation of driver swing weight to iron . Do you usually see the same with driver, 3 wood and irons
Only driver and 6i (assuming irons are a standard length)
Thanks, very cool
Brilliant well.done that player ...looks a good player tidy swing ..enjoy your new toy 💪💪💪💪 itll give you more confidence
Thanks Pete - appreciate it 🏌️♂️
Thanks 👍
Red Titleist shaft on 913, possibly a Bassara?
Could well be. Good shout!
Are the weights in the Paradym Fairway really removable ? I took out the screws but couldn’t get the weight out. Any tips appreciated
Sadly not - only in the Callaway production. I believe they are glued in.
hi ,what was the shaft which you fitted for this customer,i know you said it was fujikura motore 67g ... but could you give exact please. thanks guys
It is the Motore X F3 6 Stiff
I was fit for my irons at American golf, but never been fit for a driver! Maybe I should do so
Maybe you should! 😁
What was the first driver head and loft? Not identified at the bottom in tiny print. The looks to be a Hazrdus Smoke Yellow, probably 63 grams, but was it X or S flex? The second one a Callaway Paradym triple diamond. What was the loft? The shaft was the Accra TZ6 60, but what flex?
Shaft was the Hzrdus Yellow Small Batch 73 6.0. Accra shaft was an M4
Really interesting watch 👍🏼
Thanks Chris
What length do you normally build a 4 wood to these days ?
Depends on the circumstances, but typically 42.5”
Another superb fit Simon! I learn so much from every video you guys put out.
A question if I may. Due to a bag handling mishap earlier this year I broke my beloved Kuro Kage XT 60X driver shaft and haven’t found anything yet that can match the timing I had with it. Any suggestions on current product with similar feel, weight, and balance point? Played it in a Stealth 2+, 45” at D3 and a G410 LST prior to that. Thanks in advance!
Sorry to hear that. The Diamana PD 60 is not far off, alternatively Ventus Blue TR 6 could be close too but both might feel firmer
@@Precision_Golf Appreciate the response!
Great stuff thank you sir
Thanks Nico
Did the extra ball speed of tsr3 result in any further carry distance?
Hi Simon, Please explain the différence between à ventus tr blue 5s and à motore f3 6s.
The Ventus Blue 5s is 58g and very tip stable designed for low spin, the Motore F3 6s is 67g, slightly higher balance and softer tip so designed for a mid spin performance
Great videos
Thank you Ron 👍🏻
Do you have a rough date yet in 2024 for the new Mizuno irons, and when could I realistically book a fitting?
Hi John. Mid/late February would be advisable 👍🏻
why no TSR4? Everyone walks away from it... loft up and hit away.
It can be too low spin for some players and the front weighting can be both good and bad depending on swing style. For Jeremy it would have knuckled spin too much
glad you tried it! @@Precision_Golf
A little too much lifting and flexing of the arms, which are moving out of phaze, with the rotating mass.
Arms, must be decelerating toP4, accelerating gradually via gravity to P6 and decelerating to P7.
This allows the shaft to start to flex in transition and to release this flex, like a leaf spring just past impact.
If we accelerate the arms though impact, we are slowing the clubhead down !!!!
Thanks for the comments!
