I knew a man who was with the 45 Infantry Division in the ETO that told me a story about his WC-52 pulling a Ben Hur, as seen in this marvelous video. He didn't smoke. But he traded everything for cartons of cigarettes. His plan was to use the MAJOR stash of cigs for trade/currency as an occupying troop at the end of the war. In the final days of the war, a German artillery round fell directly on the trailer, vaporizing thousands of cigarettes. His fortune went up in smoke, literally. He was disappointed about this until his final days.

Beautiful Truck and trailer , Just a shame they are painted the wrong color OD . They should be Olive shade Spec # 34087
Not #29048 which is Late /Post war Semi gloss olive drab . I have several WWII vehicles I have painted over the years .
Semi gloss olive# 29048 is fine If your depiction is Post WWII Anyway Nice Restoration on Both !

Thank you. sadly i did not restore the truck myself so i had no say on the color. i am actually thinking about repainting it in the right color when i get the time. but i might start restoration on a cmp Chevrolet c30 this year, and that will get the correct color when painted.
