Creative arrangement, musicality and dynamics are remarkable. The 3-hand technique at 3:12 is simply chef kiss. This is by far the best playable arrangement and performance I've seen. I highly recommend you arrange Fontaine Main Theme (Live Symphony), it's a total orchestral banger.
Hopefully I'll get inspired to learn it. For now, I'm focused on finishing the full arrangement of Fontaine Battle Theme 3. Thanks for your recommendation!
@@sungvin There's quite a few arrangements already out there but in my personal opinion the best current playable one would be the one titled '[Piano] 枫丹Fontaine 原神枫丹主题曲 高还原度超优雅钢琴改编!钢协段落高能' you could search it up if you like
@@daluven oh yeah that one with Chinese title is definitely what came to my mind as currently being top 1, and it came out quickly after the livestream too
I could have put some push/pulling of tempo in several places instead of playing metronomically to the beat to add more emotion to the cover. I certainly can see some things that can be improved but thanks for your comment :)
fantastic arrangement! you really captured the orchestral feel of piece and your use of dynamics really brings it all together. i really love the stride-like arrangement and chord voicings you picked starting at 1:15... keep it up! :)
bro I teared up from this 😭 I love how u let the piece breathe between the intense sections and i love the parts where u let the left hand carry the melody it made the arrangement so interesting! and it rly sounded like the lower more booming(?) orchestral instruments. but I also love how you executed the intense parts with ease in a way that wasnt muddy!
Holy smokes!! This is incredible! Love your use of dynamics and your overall feel throughout the piece. Your hands look like they're moving so effortlessly. This was so good!! I was hooked the whole video! 😳
Not sure if it's just me but the difference of the volume/intensity between the quite parts and the 'intense' part is too much? Like I can barely hear anything for example during 1:37 then in 1:45 the volume became too loud. Just shocked me a little hehe.. Tho nice! INCREDIBLE WORK! loved it!
i absolutely agree with your comment about dynamics in sheet music. and I think so especially in contemporary composition. when I write my arrangements I never include the slurs, dynamics or pedalling. just the plain notes and reference tempo. also, for how stiff your hands and wrists look, you nail those octaves interestingly well.
I see music as a realm for appreciation and critique in terms of dynamics. That is the foundation of art in my opinion. Yes I divide certain measures in my sheet music into soft and loud sections in my head but there are instances where I would like my left hand outlining the harmony to sing/accentuate between the melody in some instances which defies the mezzo piano dynamic at 2:52 as an example. There are also cases where I would like my right hand playing the melody to reach a dynamic of mezzo forte or even forte in some cases while my left hand supports the harmony at soft mezzo piano. It may be because I see my dynamics directly influenced by the contrapuntal style of Baroque music and whether or not that that is a good thing is up to critique and appreciation. But then again there are cases where performers should strictly play according to the original recording/composition if they want a very accurate recreation/arrangement but I want to create something different. I'm simply a hobbyist and I have fun with music making. Sometimes I'm in the mood to create arrangements that are very accurate to original recordings but sometimes I branch out. Here is an example of a comment about my performance in this video that could be improved. I just listened to the original, and while there was some parts I preferred the original instrumentation for, but the same is true for yours. I also think your arrangement sounded really accurate. My only issue with your rendition is the volume automation sounds a little weird at some parts (like when it goes from basically inaudible to very loud (it just does it a little too smoothly while also being to large of a gap between the two dynamics, if that makes any sense). Other than that it sounds really good :D Being open to critique and appreciation is always a privilege.
Yay! The full version🙌🏼🙌🏼. Thank you for posting!! I was wondering what piano you are playing on🤔 You have the best performance for this piece on RUclips❤️. I can’t wait to get started playing this piece with the sheet music you provided🥹
It's a risky arrangement with a lot of risky octave spams and left-hand strides. Make sure to use a metronome and play slowly :) My piano is a Yamaha YDP - S34 which I believe costs $1000. The sound that I'm using comes from a VST called VSL Concert D-274 which costs $576.
Amazing cover! ;) Next time time, when you have hashtag Furina in the description below, don't forget to post a picture of a Genshin character in the next video's thumbnail. But so far, your channel profile picture of Gorou still classifies your cover as a Genshin video accurately. Good job as always👍
this is AMAZING. such a unique twist on the original track! saw in the description that ur open to recommendations; if i could suggest a track it would be "maidens of sanctity". i'd love to hear it played in ur style!
i keep coming back to watch this cause this is my fav arrangement of this piece ! you did an impressive work keep it up ! also wanted to let u know that there's a channel called SunnyMusic who uploaded a very similar tutorial to this one and is also selling the sheets. i dont want to make assumptions but i just have my doubts, feel free to check it out
All my sheet music is free So if it is true that someone is selling my sheet music for profit, then I'd feel bad for the RUclips viewer that has to pay them. They could have gotten them for free. Regarding people making tutorials for my covers, I'd say it's fine as long as they don't exceed the number of views for the original source cover. Personally I wouldn't recommend learning music using these tutorials though. Sheet music is already the best form to learn music from. Thanks for informing me.
It feels a little too stuffed and muddy sound wise here and there but the playing as always is utterly amazing. So darn well played. And the dynamics. It is astonishing
I like the wet sound of the Steinway D-274 in it's true Concert form somehow tho haha. In my opinion this particular mic positioning fits the overall orchestral character of the original composition :) For advice regarding dynamics I highly recommend this video: ruclips.net/video/tfMT4mDi3W0/видео.htmlsi=Fpdg-UvouauEMCnR
Yes, I recently took a 2 week break from RUclips, but I finished arranging a short version of another Fontaine Battle Theme. I will post my performance of it on the Weekend.
Even though I am an ARSM pianist, I am still impressed by your musicality, your skills, your emotions and the contrast in dynamics. Suggestion: Try improving the visual effects of the video if u want more views. For example, record in a darker room with proper lighting so the attention will be placed on your hands and the keyboard instead of the white wall in the background. Oh, and the main Teyvat theme is missing around bar 5. You have great potential, keep up the good work! Bravo
Beautiful could you do something from honkai impact , star rail, tower of fantasy and the new mugen game and if you have time could you do binary star and tranquility in full by hiroyuki sawano you promised me 3 years ago what skill to bad you dont have a grand
I've listened to this a few times and I just wanted to point out, is your piano a bit out of tune? Because it sounds like the notes are raised by a semitone compared to the music sheet
That's because I EQ'd the entire piano so it's less harsh in both the low,mid and upper register which you may perceive as being out of tune because EQ'ing takes away the natural fundamentals of a note. I did it to make the upper register less harsh and if I didn't apply it over the entire piano, people would notice some registers on the piano didn't sound right so I just applied it over the entire piano. When I was making this video, I was still experimenting with the right settings, so it was like trial and error to get my preferred type of sound.
