I’m just so thankful this game is finally getting a working translation. It kinda makes me sad when I think about people who’ve passed away before some of these translations came around, but at least they are happening.
I've considered it, as Shadowrun is one of my favorite games on both the Genesis (English release) and the MDCD (Japanese anime style release). I have the language skills and am married to a native speaker for the really weird stuff, I just don't have the time and maybe not the skills to do the "hacking" to get into the game's code to change stuff.
@@bnr32jason holy shit, for real? Let me ask around to see if anyone's willing to pitch in. Gonna be a tough sell though, the code in the CD version is supposed to be horribly complicated.
@@Myako that's where my limitations come in, I mean I even work in the IT field, but getting into the game code is something I am not at all experienced in. So the releaser of this English patch, complied it by using the previous works of someone who translated it over 10 years ago, but delayed releasing a patch for it for those 10 years. While some consider it basically a stolen fan project, the way I look at it, the original project workers took way too long to release it, but since they did release it to the public as a github, that means the English patcher didn't steal anything, he merely continued working on it. Now it has come back to bite the original project duo in the butts because someone finally took it upon themselves to release an English patch that the original translators were holding on too because they didn't think it would be possible for someone to get it to work. Now that the patch is in a working state and being shared, anyone can fine tune it and release a better patch in the future and it won't take 10 years to do it.

A Saturn game that always gets completely overlooked (both for visuals and gameplay) is Golden Axe the Duel. It looks fantastic. And while it certainly isn’t the best 2D fighting game on the console, it’s still very playable and lots of fun. It doesn’t deserve its poor reputation imo.
