When I brought the Niro EV home 2 years ago (traded in the Niro Hybrid), my wife was also "how much was this car?" and "was this necessary?". Now she loves the EV and when she has to drive an ICE for work she bitches about it to me EVERY time.

The car company that has the wisdom to take your wife on as a design consultant pre-launch to highlight flaws that are likely to irritate many practical drivers, but might not be obvious to design gurus, would be onto a winner 👍.
Don't get me wrong, I thing she is a great asset to the channel and all, but I think if a car company would hire her for pre launch user acceptance test, she would drive the designers crazy with statements like "I like little things, the more the better", few minutes after it will be "what are all those buttons, I can't understand this car." "This car looks ugly." Next day almost the same car design will look classy and brilliant... Sorry guys but I thing you just respond to her strong opinion.

Flaviana is back! Great review, the door armrest/grab handle is really nicely done and peasant blockers should keep the sun off the little ones in the back! Agree about touch screen. They are on so many new cars now and it's a horrible design. At least the Ioniq 5 is much better with some real buttons. The likes of VW, Audi, Merc... it's a real mess of distraction in those. That tax conversation was hilarious! Felt like a man getting found out for lying about how he bought all his toys! LOL Were you sweating? Something I just thought of. Rear cupholders are great if you are carrying two passengers in the back seats ;one for each passenger. But if you are carrying three passengers, then No-one gets a cup holder. Ummm.

Not to diminish Andrews considerable attention to detail but Flaviana is just a superstar with her ultra honest sometimes contrary points of view. there are points in this video that are simply hilarious and spontaneous. I found myself hanging on waiting for her next one liner. Super review brilliantly presented makes a welcome change to the often stuffy and witless car reviews we've all had to get used to, this couple are a breath of fresh air . They really should have more than 26k subscribers spread the word people these guys are great !! Subscribed and looking forward to seeing much more from this channel. we used to drive a first gen hyundai ioniq and I'm pretty sure hyundai uses the european design center in russelsheim germany for these models, could be wrong. if the germans and the international team needs a translation:-)
I wasn't sure whether to get the e-niro or the ioniq 5. Now after watched your videos for both of them, Mrs. EV has convinced me to get the ioniq 5. Loved the way she straight talks about the cars, cold hearted logical practicality views with a hint of personal style preferences, and never quote any of those useless technical numbers. Definitely subscribed! Would love to see how Mrs. EV reacts to the new Merc EQS.

She's the scariest quality control reviewer! Car manufacturer should hire her! I'm italian and it's fun how she uses italian interjections like "allora" "bene" "vabbè" with english language and how she keeps the italian tone (roman maybe?) while speaking english. So funny :)
Great car and such fun to watch the interactions between you. The tax conversation was hilarious! You are also lucky with the pricing. I had a deposit on the Ioniq 5 in NZ..top spec costs an equivalent of about 55,000 pounds even though our VAT is only 15%. Bought something else as a result.
I enjoyed this far more than I expected! I planned to watch maybe 2 minutes as I was searching for something away from some of the horribly cringeworthy reviews produced by 'professionals' out there, but I ended up watching the full 50 minutes :O Mrs EV is brilliantly honest!! I hope some of the manufacturers watch this and start using clips of it in boardroom presentations on what to avoid for their next new car! I was in stitches at times, watching this!

I’m with the wife on the rear wiper, deffo needs one in my opinion. But otherwise it’s a winner except for the price tag - 3 miles a day, that’s bullshit just brilliant I could listen to your wife all day
I have the original IONIQ EV and that also doesn’t have a rear wiper. It’s not actually a problem. It doesn’t get very wet and you can clear it with the window heater.
I agree with her on the silver trim round the bottom, a large part of why I liked the matte gold colour was that the silver trim was less noticeable. On the rear seat though, the reason there is a lever is so you can fold up and down the seats for loading up the boot. Not sure I’ve ever seen a car do that with a slow electric mechanism.
@@laineracher250 the dark trim looks better even when contrasted against lighter colours, unfortunately Hyundai Australia decided not to offer the dark trim on any cars though so it wasn't an option here.
The rear seats folding by lever is BY DESIGN - It's much faster. Can you imagine SLOWLY folding the seat down, when you need to transport stuff in the back? It is an awesome package and the best deal out there for the $$ imho.

Not to diminish Andrews considerable attention to detail but Flaviana is just a superstar with her ultra honest sometimes contrary points of view. there are points in this video that are simply hilarious and spontaneous. I found myself hanging on waiting for her next one liner. Super review brilliantly presented makes a welcome change to the often stuffy and witless car reviews we've all had to get used to, this couple are a breath of fresh air . They really should have more than 26k subscribers spread the word people these guys are great !! Subscribed and looking forward to seeing much more from this channel. As for the Ioniq 5 we have one on order thank you for helping us make a choice 😃

we used to drive a first gen hyundai ioniq and I'm pretty sure hyundai uses the european design center in russelsheim germany for these models, could be wrong. if the germans and the international team needs a translation:-)
I wasn't sure whether to get the e-niro or the ioniq 5. Now after watched your videos for both of them, Mrs. EV has convinced me to get the ioniq 5. Loved the way she straight talks about the cars, cold hearted logical practicality views with a hint of personal style preferences, and never quote any of those useless technical numbers. Definitely subscribed! Would love to see how Mrs. EV reacts to the new Merc EQS.

You are also lucky with the pricing. I had a deposit on the Ioniq 5 in NZ..top spec costs an equivalent of about 55,000 pounds even though our VAT is only 15%. Bought something else as a result.
The rear Wiper comment was absolutely spot on!
I enjoyed this far more than I expected! I planned to watch maybe 2 minutes as I was searching for something away from some of the horribly cringeworthy reviews produced by 'professionals' out there, but I ended up watching the full 50 minutes :O Mrs EV is brilliantly honest!! I hope some of the manufacturers watch this and start using clips of it in boardroom presentations on what to avoid for their next new car! I was in stitches at times, watching this!

I’m with the wife on the rear wiper, deffo needs one in my opinion. But otherwise it’s a winner except for the price tag - 3 miles a day, that’s bullshit just brilliant I could listen to your wife all day
I have the original IONIQ EV and that also doesn’t have a rear wiper. It’s not actually a problem. It doesn’t get very wet and you can clear it with the window heater.
Forget Mr EV, just give Flaviana a RUclips channel - brilliantly funny and insightful.
I agree with her on the silver trim round the bottom, a large part of why I liked the matte gold colour was that the silver trim was less noticeable. On the rear seat though, the reason there is a lever is so you can fold up and down the seats for loading up the boot. Not sure I’ve ever seen a car do that with a slow electric mechanism.
I agree on the silver trim. I purposely wanted the dark trim on the matte dark gray so it wasn’t a highlight
@@laineracher250 the dark trim looks better even when contrasted against lighter colours, unfortunately Hyundai Australia decided not to offer the dark trim on any cars though so it wasn't an option here.
The rear seats folding by lever is BY DESIGN - It's much faster. Can you imagine SLOWLY folding the seat down, when you need to transport stuff in the back? It is an awesome package and the best deal out there for the $$ imho.

I have the Ioniq5 pre-ordered here in the USA and the solar panel isn’t even an option. But I went with the AWD in matte gray with teal/tan interior. I’m excited to finally test drive the car when the dealerships have the test drive samples in house… it’s said to be fall… so any day now. 🙏🏻

Flaviana you have the ability to pick out the most important features in a car, not the gimmicks. Thank you. I fully agree with you. Modern EVs are putting too many features in their cars. If they simplified them and brought the price down most people would be happy.
Car manufacturers and designer listen too much to car sales folks, who likely tell them that they sell cars on competing gimmicks and features.

Loved Flavia's unfiltered honesty about some of the cars features. She's spot on about how the back seats work and what was going on with the drivers footrest?
