Let's clarify here. None of the events in this game are real. This is a dream. That transmission from the beginning with the numbers translates to WAKE UP BRUCE. Penguin shouts "wake up idiot" but he says idiot as in singular one person, so he would be referring to Bruce. The jokers presence in the game is a big giveaway of the dream because this take solace after Arkham city so joker is dead. That and the surreal ending. This is a prequel to Arkham Knight but ever since City, Bruce has had infected joker blood in him. This is a dream where he sees what might become of him if the infection persists. This would explain why he didn't want Nightwing or Robin anywhere near his conflict with Scarecrow and the Arkham Knight and why he had Robin working on a cure so much.
FanelliFilms Forgive my ignorance, as I'm only vaguely familiar with the series. But in City, doesn't Batman take the cure freeze made him? So why is he having dreams about what'll happen if the infection persists when he's already taken the antidote? I'm a little confused.
FanelliFilms that really makes sense. Thanks for that, I'm currently playing Arkham Knight and I wondered why Robin and Nightwing weren't fighting in the game. That really helps me understand the game better. Cheers, Mustard Orb.
I might be in the minority but I think this game does a really good job of explaining why Batman distanced himself from everyone in knight - it's his fear of harming them.
I agree but I feel like rhey could have incorporated the hallucinations of Dick and Tims deaths in the game somewhat instead of just Joker appearing none stop.
Could you imagine how he felt after he woke up or saw nightwing and robin after he found out in the dream he caused their deaths? It must’ve haunted him
i love how when nightwing dies batmans like "oh no you died thats such a shame" but in the comics batman would literally be crying on the floor and fuckin havin suicidal thoughts lol.
Here's how you can tell it's a dream: 1) Listen closely when Batman first begins examining Nightwing's "corpse", and you'll hear an alarm clock in the background (it's faint, but it's there). 2) Joker's dialogue in the morgue from that tape recorder (as a reference to Arkham Knight in which Joker would constanly taunt Batman from things like an answering machine).
Ya u are totally right. It happened before Arkham knight that is why he said to Robin and nightwing to stay away while catching scarecrow and Arkham knight and wanted Robin to work on the cure
Well he also says Master Todd instead of Master Jason; he only really seems to refer to Bruce by his first name, and with everyone else it's usually their last name.
Not really, in the comics and cartoons (Batman Animated Series and Brave & The Bold), it's Joe Chill who killed Thomas & Martha Wayne (or if you're using the Flashpoint skin - Joe Chill kills Bruce making Thomas become Batman and Martha go insane and become Joker), but they changed it in the 1989 film to Joker (as Jack Napier) who killed the Waynes minus Bruce before echoing the very familiar quote - "Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?". It's only changed slightly in Arkham City when you come across the bouquet of red roses with a note from Hugo Strange saying "This is where it began, and where it shall end! H.Strange" with the unlockable clip from Hugo Strange mocking Bruce on his parents deaths and gloating how Protocol Ten would be successful and how he would round up everyone he knew and kill them in front of Bruce.

No the video was sent to him before the events of Arkham Asylum it's nothing new to him. In Asylum Joker even says that Batman could "use a new sidekick".
For anyone watching this back and going "Wtf is this supposed to be for??" I'll help you. TLDR; This takes place between the ending of City and beginning of Knight, as Batman is infected with the Joker's blood as shown in the Batcave. All this game is, is asking the question, "What would've Batman done had the Joker's blood completely took over?" This game is only a dream, but it supports why Batman is so reluctant to keep Nightwing and Robin so distant in Arkham Knight. Its fear of what'd happen to them.

I played this game when I was 12 and VR was still new. I'm 20 now and it was nice to watch this game again again after 8 years. Still one of my favorite games ever. Lots of good memories!
What a fascinating story. I loved it. People say it explain why Batman was pushing Nightwing and Robin away in Knight, it does makes sense to me now. And how Batman acknowledges that Nightwing was trained by him and how its difficult to beat him and in the end, it WAS Batman and that's how he know Nightwing's every move, incredible.
For what it was; I think that was really solid product by Rocksteady. While, the whole 'return to the asylum' thing is getting tired, I imagine in a (ideal) VR setting, this would send shivers down my spine. Considering where Bats is mentally in Arkham Knight, and this is literally a game where you get in Bats's head; having a prequel where Bruce finds out he's the 5th Joker is really neat. Goes along way in helping relate to Bruces decisions to be the way to his allies in AK too. The factors that led to not having the usual VA's return, and the lack of VA in general (outside Mark Hamill... did he record this during AK production?) is a shame, but understandable considering this is more experiment territory than triple A title. Time and Time again Rocksteady have shown they are masters of the headscrew stuff in game... and VR games I imagine they reach a whole new level. I'm really glad they made this project. That said this is still a VR game, and as is I'm not too interested in picking it up personally. It does however show start to show off off to people like me what VR can do. And Story wise I consider it a great addition to the Arkham Universe. 'Grats Rocksteady.
Someone said here that 25 april, some year, was first Joker appearing in comics. Also it's Joe Chill or actually Joker cell in Asylum, + almost whole plot of the Arkham VR was wrote on wall in Wayne Manor AK challenge.
Great video! Loved how you explored the optional little things, too, since some were interesting Easter Eggs (I like details like that.). It's obvious you'd played this game at least once before so the play-through was really smooth. I always get annoyed when playthrough-ers are doing it for the first time and get confused or take forever on simple puzzles.
30 minutes in and it's been nothing but toying around with in Wayne Manor and the Batcave. I don't mind that you get to explore these places, and I actually like how the person playing is looking in to all this stuff. I'm just amazed that this is just about half of what the game has to offer. I just looked up it's price, $19.99. At least it's not $60.
Pretty sure the devs weren't clear whether this was semi-canon (as a dream between City and Knight) or completely non-canon as a What-If they made for the VR.
I like the way robin yells batman when he's jumpscared, it's kinda like a child doing something by mistake and yelling for his father for help. that made it feel so real imo
I'm 3 years late but it's all good lol Great Video. I played this for the 1st time last night. It was Dope but Scary as hell at the same time Lol! I subscribed
It would probably be due to limited market rather then the lower price. First, it's Playstation only (for now), so there goes all the PC and Xbox customers. After that, there's the fact that only PSVR customers will potentially buy the game. Keep in mind that these guys have to pay $300 for the system, plus $400 for the headset. In the end, there's a very small number of customers that will pay for this right now.
17:36 alright guys, new secret to solve! It sounds similar to the radio broadcasts back in Arkham City, but this one has negative numbers. I've tried to solve it, but the closest I've gotten was something along the lines of "wake up" for the first part, but that's it, and it doesn't match with any of the ciphers. If you guys can help, it'd be appreciated.
toufos1 Yeah, they already did something like that with "Johnny Charisma Live". Like I said, the closest I've gotten was the first part as "Wake Up", but it doesn't match any of the known ciphers.
I've already seen this solution posted some other place. It was "WAKE UP BRUCE", which makes sense considering this whole adventure is Bruce's dream/hallucination. Since you took the time to decypher it and both answers match, Imma stick with it. Congrats btw
From my understanding, this is simply a dream, right? Though, we can still place it into the order of events such as this. Honestly cannot remember DLC names right now. Initiation Origins Mr. Freeze Story DLC Blackwater Multiplayer Batgirl DLC (It really is canon and I can explain how. It is said to be non canon because everyone went with some other person's statement.) Asylum City with Catwoman DLC Harley Quinn's Revenge VR Harley Quinn DLC Knight (Season DLC) Redhood, Nightwing, Robin, Catwoman DLC
40:15 You know... with a good TEN YEARS under Batman's belt by now, I don't think I buy a single criminal in Gotham looking at anything Batman pulls out and exclaiming "What the hell is that!?"
2:17 Joe Chill in this version is absolutely sadistic. Makes me relieved that he got gunned down by other criminals after they found out that he created Batman.
I just played this yesterday and I felt it had a lot of potential. I was disappointed in how incredibly short it was. They could really do a lot with this that they just didn't do.

wow that was a beautiful prequel to arkham knight. Really honored the series as well loved it.
The last part feels like an horror game.
So Dick and Tim are dead? Was it just an hallucination?
It was a Joker blood induced hallucination every single bit, including talking to Alfred.
ShinobiNintendo The entire game is a hallucination.
this is set in between city and knight. this is when batman found out that he was infected with joker's blood.
Doesn't take place during Arkham Knight since he found the video where Joker murders Jason Todd? Or is it part of the hallucination too?
No the video was sent to him before the events of Arkham Asylum it's nothing new to him. In Asylum Joker even says that Batman could "use a new sidekick".
“He’s mine. mine mine mine”
10 Seconds later... “shoots
“Never could stand a tattletale”
When Batman is in the cell in the end and when Robin appears it looks like he said “ Bruce Wake Up!” I’m just noticing that now. 1:02:46
Was this the best thing to watch at 4:00 in the morning?
No
Is it terrifying?
Definitely
Why am I still watching?
Because I can't stop
Same boat buddy
For anyone watching this back and going "Wtf is this supposed to be for??" I'll help you.
TLDR; This takes place between the ending of City and beginning of Knight, as Batman is infected with the Joker's blood as shown in the Batcave.
All this game is, is asking the question, "What would've Batman done had the Joker's blood completely took over?"
This game is only a dream, but it supports why Batman is so reluctant to keep Nightwing and Robin so distant in Arkham Knight. Its fear of what'd happen to them.
Funnest game I've ever played! Everyone needs to give VR a try. The experience is amazing!
U think it worths 20$?
I'm thinking of buying it
I don't know what people were expecting, but this is vr. it hasn't been around that long. baby steps, guys
Virtual Reality has been around since the early '90s
yeah but real-time rendering and gaming of this quality hasn't
@@ExplorerDS6789 not like this
That's a long list of crimes you got there, Jack.
3:08 Godspeed Master Bruce
Green Goblin: Thats my line!

I was watching this on my PS4 so I thought I got a PlayStation trophy 🏆 XD
"if he is in trouble, every second may count"
*proceeds to look at giant penny*
Batman: Computer, update jokers file everytime he commits a new crime
Me watches the file after jokers death
Me: How the f*ck is he not in the electric chair!?
BAV does everything perfectly, down to the last detail
I think this is what the secret wall in the Wayne Manor challenge map was about!
Yep, I figuret it all out before VR release, and here we go - this easter egg is related to VR's plot.
What does the number 425 mean, though? It shows up again in Cash's coffee mug and in Joker's cell number.
Someone said here that 25 april, some year, was first Joker appearing in comics.
Also it's Joe Chill or actually Joker cell in Asylum, + almost whole plot of the Arkham VR was wrote on wall in Wayne Manor AK challenge.
Kacper Nowak Guess that shows short the game really is!
GI Jack due 6
Wait what would have happened if you broke the mirror with a punch or a header at the end of the game? Is that an alternative? Could you do that?
No, walls and most of the objects are intangible.
***** Thank you ^_^
ItookyourJello show your face batmanarckhamvideos
ItookyourJello hip
you I was thinking the same exact thing
Great video! Loved how you explored the optional little things, too, since some were interesting Easter Eggs (I like details like that.). It's obvious you'd played this game at least once before so the play-through was really smooth. I always get annoyed when playthrough-ers are doing it for the first time and get confused or take forever on simple puzzles.
Anime Girl Amy
Agreed
30 minutes in and it's been nothing but toying around with in Wayne Manor and the Batcave. I don't mind that you get to explore these places, and I actually like how the person playing is looking in to all this stuff. I'm just amazed that this is just about half of what the game has to offer.
I just looked up it's price, $19.99. At least it's not $60.
I am VERY positive that this is a dream
It is a dream as night-wing is still alive in Arkham Knight, this is between City and Knight.
Pretty sure the devs weren't clear whether this was semi-canon (as a dream between City and Knight) or completely non-canon as a What-If they made for the VR.
You can tell by Penguin saying to Batman, "Wake up you idiot!" Penguin was not refering to HIS men. He was refering to batman, or Bruce. 40:35
"So, Bruce, are you sure you don't want to grieve over the death of the man equivalent to your first-born son?"
"Nah, I'm good."
It looks like killer croc left his stage. let's administer a friendly shock to bring him back to the stage.
John Slender *intense PTSD*
I like the way robin yells batman when he's jumpscared, it's kinda like a child doing something by mistake and yelling for his father for help. that made it feel so real imo
I'm 3 years late but it's all good lol Great Video. I played this for the 1st time last night. It was Dope but Scary as hell at the same time Lol! I subscribed
Wow! With such a long list of crimes you'd think The Joker would try running for President... Oh Wait...
Um...never mind.
Ben Riley ha
Ben Riley The Joker would win because he is not a rapist.
True... but he is a Cannibal
MrNikkistyles Jonny Frost and The Killing Joke say otherwise...
Joker isn't a cannibal, or are you talking about killer croc?
They didn't even get Nolan North as Penguin or Martin Jarvis as Alfred?
Probably because this isn't a full 60 buck game, not worth it, for such a small role.
H C i still feel like Nolan should have been in it. Nolan is in pretty much EVERYTHING when it comes to video games.
Indeed. VR is about as mass market as the Neo-Geo was.
Ryan Brown This is turning out just like Virtual Boy
And i am not happy about that.
GI Jack joker still live.....I think... that's the best I got so far
toufos1 How'd you get it?
I didn't solve it...I just got some letters and the rest is speculation..it makes sense but I don't think thats the answer.
toufos1 Yeah, they already did something like that with "Johnny Charisma Live".
From a 1hr VR game to a 7 hr VR game on arkham shadow. Batman has come along way in the VR world and it’s great
From my understanding, this is simply a dream, right? Though, we can still place it into the order of events such as this. Honestly cannot remember DLC names right now.
Initiation
Origins
Mr. Freeze Story DLC
Blackwater
Multiplayer
Batgirl DLC (It really is canon and I can explain how. It is said to be non canon because everyone went with some other person's statement.)
Asylum
City with Catwoman DLC
Harley Quinn's Revenge
VR
Harley Quinn DLC
Knight (Season DLC)
Redhood, Nightwing, Robin, Catwoman DLC
typos....phones these days
Blackwater? What in God's name is that?
@@mannyrodriguez3933 I think he meant blackgate, the arkham origins game
@@d4-lt359 oh ok thank you my Good man for correcting me.
Batgirl is canon, as it's before the Arkham trilogy
When ever there's a new Batman game, this guy will be the bomb at it.
26:12 so thats why i got food poisoning from that meat loaf
40:15 You know... with a good TEN YEARS under Batman's belt by now, I don't think I buy a single criminal in Gotham looking at anything Batman pulls out and exclaiming "What the hell is that!?"
8:15 Nice job using the Arkham theme on the piano.
Ive seen Bruce's parents die so many times.....the fuck. lol
But you never stood there. They had to do it again, for VR.
DFKnightmare h
Wait, The Joker was/is cannibal?
***** 26:12.
A big boy has to eat
Never knew Joker was one.
and the worst thing HE BULLIES PEOPLE ONLINE
No, the worst thing is that he...... LITTERS!!!!
Really? Penguin is not voiced by nolan north? Sad
l guess he was to expensive😭
biznu bizzness Or too busy on that Superman game they need to frickin announce already
Austin Smith RIGHT???!!!!
Indeed, this voice actor for the penguin is not so good, doesn't really sound like the penguin (mainly the voice itself is cringy)
Fucked up......
But awesome.
So Batman's still infected?....where is this game, chronologically?
Ah, so Joker's dead, but he's infected.Got it.
It's a dream that I have between City and Knight.
Bat Man No it's not, Bruce. It was a nightmare you had between City and Knight.
Batman ExactlWAIT A MINUTE. You just said it was after Knight! WHAT THE FUCK?!?!
Addison Bortion Smh that's a different person.
"You must have been in great agony" the way batman said it like a father feeling so scared for their kid
2:17 Joe Chill in this version is absolutely sadistic.
Makes me relieved that he got gunned down by other criminals after they found out that he created Batman.
The fact that you can hear jasons scream in the asylum is horrifying
That new Penguin voice actor is so bland.
Gex i thought i was the only one who noticed
billy mayotte Nope
Gex Eh, he's not terrible. But still, I prefer Nolan North.
#nolannorthislife
Sebastian Detoro Funny way to spell "Shrek" ya got there.
I just played this yesterday and I felt it had a lot of potential. I was disappointed in how incredibly short it was. They could really do a lot with this that they just didn't do.
jokers voice at 26:21 reminds me of his voice in the animated series because marks voice as the joker at the time was sorta more high pitched
Whoever made this is a legend
