Got my brand new label maker stuck on the first try (I cut the label so short it fell back in and jammed something). Got it back into working order with this video. Thank you!
Can confirm - watching this video on Christmas Eve 2024, after having to repair our Dymo Omega after it decided to have many an issue! Thanks so much for the commentary and clear actions, made life so much easier!
Yes, I think most people throw theirs away and buy a new one when they cant get it to work! Some of us are poor tho and can't do that 😂 this was very helpful, and the commentary is gold. Thanks!
I just fixed my label maker and this was a huge help! Thank you so much, you guys were lovely👏🏻 I love these types of niche RUclips finds, the internet can be such a nice place❤
Funny hearing you comment no one will ever watch this. Couldn't get my Organizer Xpress to cut anymore, but I pulled it apart, cleaned the blades with some alcohol, and it works once again! Thanks for the help!
Gracias, Ben! ❤😊
Unbelievable! Was just about to hit return on my Amazon order because the paper was so jammed, and thought I may just give a try at fixing myself. 10 mins and one video later - got a fully functioning label maker! Thanks so much!
I ended up breaking mine while trying to reassemble it, but I really appreciate you two taking the time to make this video. I couldn't find anything else that had what I was looking for.
Took mine apart and didn’t take any pictures. Ended up forgetting where everything went. Thank you two for making this video. I love keeping things out of the trash and you helped me do that.
Thank you for making the video! I jammed mine within minutes of opening the package. And thought I could easily open and fix, well I ended up here....so you can guess how that turned out. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video, it was very informative and helpful. I unfortunately ended up breaking my machine while putting it back together but at least now how it works! Better luck next time haha
Great to see how It comes apart, there was lots of glue in mine holding the 2 sides together really needed to spread it with flat screw driver to open. In my case the snoopy looking thing needed bent back to catch the cog of the gear so it would feed😊
Just watched this to figure out how to repair mine. Thanks for making the video! Didn’t change the world but it did help me save money and not create more plastic waste by trashing a perfectly good label maker.
This video is brilliant! Please think about doing a video like this for the Dymo 1550 or 1570 next… I can’t figure out how to put mine back together, I keep ending up with one left over little spring 😂
Awesome guys! Your vid helped me pull apart mine without naffing it. Having used one roll of tape it got stuck with a tiny bit of cut off tape jammed in there somehow. Before I got that out I had turned the wheel and that had got the top and bottom sections of it out of whack hence it could not print any characters and could not cut. Now I know to look and see if those arrows on the sides of the top and bottom sections of the letter wheel are lined up, and if not, that is what needs sorting. Dymo would do well to revise the design with one small tweak: add a nib protruding from the top half of the wheel and a matching dimple in the bottom half of the wheel, or something like that, so they are firmly keyed together once assembled. I also agree with one of your earlier commenters: bring back the much easier to read 70's font. New one is too ambiguous. Otherwise I'm stoked they still make these things cos the labels last forever, unlike the newer electronic ones that fade in UV. Great video. Oh yeah: when doing up a screw into plastic always turn the screwdriver gently in reverse first with slight downwards pressure until the screw "pops" into the thread, then do it up, and don't over tighten. Ensures you use the existing thread in the plastic else the self-tapping screw may cut a new thread and end up chewing things out. Cheers from Kiwi Land. #8^)
Hi! Your video was very helpful! My machine problems was bits of the tape in between the letters! When I disassembled it I found two tiny pieces stuck in the dial.
I'm considering buying one of these so while looking for reviews, this video showed up. I was curious about what is inside and what makes it work, so I clicked. Thank you for making this video. It satisfied my curiosity. You did well showing and explaining everything and are a highly skilled natural teacher. If some of my teachers had your level of teaching skills, I would have understood much better what all they were talking about.
Thanks for the video!! Unfortunately I broke a little stupid part trying to reassemble the machine but at least I tried to fix it. A tiny piece of vynil got stuck in the round parts and caused the label maker to stop working in the first place and I found it when I opened it
Thank you so much! I haven’t used my label maker since it jammed. I’m going to attempt to take it apart and reassemble again. Hopefully it works! Also, I watched the entire video 😃
Thank you for this video! It helped me trouble shoot mine, the dials became out of alignment so it would just emboss weird shapes. Got it fixed because of this!
I have a Dymo 1610 and it has a similar mechanism, the hole is to anchor the metal spring bit so it comes to meet a little plastic wheel thing. It’s fixed now, I’ll give you half of the credit for it, I was following the video and dropped it halfway through which causes it to get better somehow. Still, I don’t know if I’d have dared to try the repair if I hadn’t had something to guide me so this video was very useful to me. Thank you👍
Just wondering about the trigger spring placement? I feel like mine got miscalibrated and now after use it’ll just misfire and I have to take it apart again. Does the trigger spring travel down the side of the trigger or is it placed in the middle?
Hii! First of all, thanks for sharing this video! I just watched it and realized what could be the problem with my dymo... the claw that turns the wheel isn't clawing, it's just pushing the wheel, so it's not feeding tape... could you please enlighten me on how to fix this issue?
Thankyou so much for this video! I'm trying to learn how to fix things rather than just throw them out. I feel like once or twice a year you need to do this kind of maintenence on a Dymo because they just get jammed so easily!
The issue I faced when I opened mine was that the little lever that's connected to the handle thats supposed to hook on to the white wheel and turn it, was no longer strong enough to turn the wheel. It hooks on to the little wheel but then slips off as you pull the handle. That click then doesn't happen because the wheel is never turned, and the label paper isn't able to move forward. Any fixes for that? Or should I just buy a new one?
I have the same problem. The white hook doesn't hold the wheel on place so that the blue hook could pick the next wheel tooth. Any idea how to fix that?
Thanks Ben and Kelsey. This was exceedingly helpful. Turns out my derpy dinosaur's little arm broke off. It's a pretty integral piece of thin plastic that makes the whole thing work 😭 guess I have to get a new label maker 🥺
You didn't take apart the top I have a metal piece and I'm not sure how it's supposed to look it got bent some how and now I can't figure out how to get it right
Mine prints it out crooked, it printed out nice and aligned for the first roll, but when I it was finishing I understood why it'll be crooked since the roll is light and could be wiggling around, so I changed to a new roll but it's still printing out crooked. Idk what's the problem, I can't find anyone else facing this problem
just wanted to let you know that I watched this but of course it was after i had stripped a screw so… order another one I did, this would have been very helpful had i not done that 😂
I had one of these and I used it until that little claw that reaches the feed wheel broke off. I think it's a terrible design since there are vintage label makers that are still working. Seems like this is a way to get you to buy another one of this piece of junk. I ended up replacing this one with the Lectra tag thermal labeler and so far so good. It's such a shame that this design exists because it's like you have a limited number of clicks until it breaks and then it's plastic waste.
4 years later and you're still saving people time and money. Thank you so much!

I'm currently watching this trying to fix mine! Thank you!
I watched the whole video, thanks for creating this. Getting the round part back on and getting it to close up is rather a PIA. Thanks again!
Hi 👋 I watched this video. It was very helpful! Thank you for uploading this up in the internet 🙏 🤍 Take care!
I love this label maker! Thanks for helping me fix mine!!!
Thank you for making the video! I jammed mine within minutes of opening the package. And thought I could easily open and fix, well I ended up here....so you can guess how that turned out. Thanks!

Thanks for the video! You gave me the confidence to keep wiggling parts until it came apart. Found the piece that was jammed and it works again!

Great video guys well done. I learnt what l wanted to know. Thanks.
Thank you this was a great help! So happy to have my label maker functioning again. Why buy another when the old one is still good!

Super random video but im glad its here. I was going to throw mine away!!

It's been a while, but I think the side... I'll have to re-watch this video, haha
This looks promising thanks 😊 👍
Thank you for sharing this. Even though I didn't have exactly the same problem, your video helped me figure it out. 😁
lol hi y’all. Thanks for making the video! Definitely not the only people out there wanting exactly this 😂
Thank you! It was actually really helpful!!
Thank you, almost threw mine out. Really helped us fix it 😊
Thank you so much. My tape stopped cutting after a few uses and I couldn't figure out how to take the top off without breaking it.
This videos saved me!
Literally saved my life (well, the cost of new one!)
I watched the entire video, it was very helpful. thanx :)
I like the sound he makes at 3:04.
This was super helpful...thank you!

Thank you!
hey, thank you so much, nice video
Was useful.
Hey does anyone have a clue why ours does not cut anymore? It tries to you can see it but it does not go through
I kinda needed to know how to disassemble it from the very beginning without breaking anything. Can get the to halves to separate
Thanks Ben and Kelsey. This was exceedingly helpful. Turns out my derpy dinosaur's little arm broke off. It's a pretty integral piece of thin plastic that makes the whole thing work 😭 guess I have to get a new label maker 🥺
same with me! at least we tried...
